Good interface. Contains a lot of important words and phrases. Way better than most of the other this app language apps, but does lack hiragana. I deducted a star from my review because a recent update removed the default English speaking voice in Play mode from a semi realistic female to what sounds like a very low volume version of Stephen Hawking. Can barely hear it even with my phone at max volume. What had been one of the most useful features of Japanese is now rendered completely useless. Another star will be deducted if this isn’t corrected in the near future.

Japanese has helped me learn a few new this app words (including spelling in Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji) every day. I have taken 2 this app language courses (Beginning 1 and 2) - currently finishing Beginning 2 - and Japanese is a great way to add to my vocabulary. The key to learning anything new (language or skill) is persistence, wide variety of tools and hard work. If you want to and/or enjoy learning this app I recommend Japanese.

I think Japanese is OK just OK because it teaches you how to say this app words and I learn really quick it's just the fact that I don't know how to spell it and this is a big problem because if I can't spell this app then there's really no use in talking it it's great and all but I can't read this app side I don't know the markings please fix this it would mean a lot to me it's great you know how to speak it but I really want to be able to read the markings thanks for all the hard work you put into these apps for other people

I love the audio part. It’s like someone drilling me while driving down the road. I’m struggling with the mic on my end a bit though. It doesn’t always play back my recording. When I figure out what’s wrong then I’ll bump to 5 stars. Using this for the repetitive audio drills and memory skills combined with Human this app for the in-depth explanations is an absolutely perfect combination. Check it out!

Stationed in Japan I have a plethora of this app apps on my phone. This is the one I constantly and consistently come back too. It's so good I bought it in this app and other languages! Great for on the train or in the car, good use of everyday words and phrases. The ability to change the writing format helps me work on my reading and the microphone is great for working on pronunciation. Worth the money

I am U.S. Military stationed in Japan. I have about 10 this app language apps on my phone and this is hands down the best! Absolutely worth every penny! I use Japanese, plus a separate one to study hiragana. Between the 2 I have enough this app to get through most of the basics, and learned out in only about a week. Still working and learning, but Japanese is invaluable!

This is one of, if not the best language-learning program I've ever used! It puts Rosetta Stone to shame.
The only downside is that if you want to proceed further past the first few learning sections then there's an additional charge. The program is so good, though, that I'm willing to mostly overlook that, and may be even willing to buy it at a later point!

I have worked almost 11 years for a this app company and have been to Japan 3 times. I have learned more words in one week then I have the entire time I have been here.

I know that the translations are correct because when I say them I get an English response telling me what I said with a look of amazement.

I use Japanese all day. It has assisted me in learning this app twice as fast as I would via textbooks alone. I use Japanese along with my textbooks. My only wish is for more words and phrases to be added as I am almost finished learning all that is available from the purchased version.

I'm using Japanese along with a few other. Japanese is great for learning new words and testing yourself. It does not show you grammar, culture aspects, etc. I would give it 5 stars if it allow you to choose what words to study and remove the one you've learned. It also would be nice to have a counter showing how many words are left to review.

Very helpful, with audio and phonetic spelling. Useful categories which apply to many travel scenarios. Very flexible with option to slow down the speed of the native speaker. I am using it in conjunction with another site which explains this app grammar.

Can the native language be able to changed by user via app rather than through the system settings?
I don’t like that I have to reset my iPad language to Korean every time I want to use Japanese. Since My iPad is set to English for work and school.

Favorite. Bought the paid version too. My favorite part is the voice learning. Where the speaker says the word, you repeat. Then you hear yourself and the speaker. So you can see how well you are doing.

I really like Japanese. The playback audio and the several ways they allow you to learn and review the language is awesome. I especially like that I can change the settings to fit my learning curve. As soon as I can I'm upgrading to the full version.

Japanese is truly amazing. I mean, sugoi! I love that I can leave it on while I go about my daily household chores. Wash the dishes, learn this app. Fold the laundry, learn this app. You get the idea. Even my 5 year old has picked up some words!

I also love that the words are color-coded. It helps me know which words are more important and which ones I should review more frequently. I'm currently learning Hiragana, so it's great that the words show how they are written as well as in romaji for easy pronunciation.

My conversational this app sounds so much better, as well.

I love Japanese! The way it teaches short helpful phrases and tests you as you go. Translation is spoken clearly and distinctly and I can try the same phrase over and over. I’m retaining what I learn! I’m doing the this app version but I’d gladly use their other apps. Great programming!

This is perfect for listening to while working or helping your memory stay sharp. But Japanese dies without fail every 20 minutes. Because of this I am unable to use it for what I like the most about Japanese, the hands off aspect.

I love Japanese! I am able to learn another language, in the privacy of my own space......and at my own pace! Thank you for the many helpful features. The spelling, the pronunciation, the English definition, phrases......it is great.

Easy to set up easy to follow. Many choices for learning at your own pace with plenty of simple adjustments to the speed of learning.

Japanese has several types of flash cards for various types of learning. Native—>Language you’re learning and vice-versa, etc etc. Thoroughly enjoy every aspect of Japanese. Have used it for some Greek, German, and especially this app
