If you want a very simple and quick way to track expenses and/or a budget, LiveExpenses is more than capable. The flow of procedures is intuitive and features are logically organized. The interface is nicely designed and surprisingly pleasant to use. LiveExpenses suffers from a few weaknesses however and depending on your needs, these may or may not be deal breakers. First and foremost is the lack of any type of charting. There are no options to generate pie charts or trends analysis. These are very useful tools if you're trying to maintain a certain daily budget (e.g. when you're on a family vacation and need to be sure you have enough money available over the course of time). The other shortcoming in my opinion is the rather weak photo tools. No crop or zoom options are available and the default photo "window" moves unexpectedly sometimes requiring multiple retakes to get the entire receipt. This is more annoying than anything but it does waste valuable time and storage space. Many apps have features that auto-detect the edges of receipts and I hope the developers take this suggestion seriously and make future improvements. Overall, this is a simple and solid choice to grab on to in a turbulent sea of overly complex apps.

My experience is that apps like this tend to stop working properly after sometime. This one seems to be working just fine, even if I do have the free app. I would say that it would be nice to know the price of an upgrade which it does not tell you if you try to upgrade. It does exactly what I need to do witches track every penny that I spend in my personal account. I am Magine the upgrade would be worth having if I were tracking multiple accounts. Anyway, it is a great app if it doesn't delete all my information at some point. I have no reason to think that it will except that most of them do.

LiveExpenses is great for traveling, especially if you use cash. There is are a lot of apps out there for monitoring your bank account but this one you can choose from a whole bunch of currencies and actually track what you spend every day! Super convenient to add transactions, and the whole app is very intuitive. It's a must download. Also if you get the pro version you can have several projects going which is also a really nice feature. Anyways :) download it!

Going on a trip and wanted a clean and easy app to track expenses. I first downloaded another that will go unnamed but has trip in its title, that one was confusing and didn't show the expenses in a way that was logical to me. This program does! Easy to modify expense categories, gives the budget amount and what remains, and lays it out in a sequential manner. 5-stars for me! No goofy pie charts, colored bar graphs, just the money and what you have left to spend, perfect!

Does exactly what you need it to do. The best expense app I have tried by far and I have gone thru many. It even lets you look at all sorts of tables, breaking down expense by month or quarter and category. I only wish I could directly export those tables as I see them on my phone. Then I could do reports directly from my iPhone with no need for an accounting program at taxtime. That is a small quibble on an excellent app!!

I'm new to this kind of App. Very nice. Didn't take long to get up and going. I think there are a few things that would help make this outstanding. If you let receipts go for several days without logging you will have to sit and input. The date selection of the program should default to the last chosen date. There should be a button which allows for the selection of today's date/the current date. I would like a Mac version so that I can sync to my IOS devices. Thx.

This is such a great app I love how we can do so much on a free app. Even though since it is a free app and has a few restrictions is all good with me because if there was more than one project etc who would buy the full version. It's easy to use and very simple to figure out. I love how there is a note section with each transaction things. And you can upload a picture with your transactions. Which I thought was neat but I tried the picture thing but it didn't work.

LiveExpenses is perfect for when I'm traveling and need a simple, unsophisticated to keep track of my travel expenses - they can rack up pretty quick. My only wish is that they would have added totals for each day so you can see how much you spent on a certain day without adding it up yourself. Regardless, still a great app!

I love LiveExpenses. Had it for over a year and it’s now my favorite for keeping track of things. You can email your data which is a must to me. The design is beautiful and easy to use but you need to understand its features first which doesn’t take long at all. Easy to read too!

Very intuitive and easy to navigate.

Simple clear straightforward way to input expenses, with no unnecessary steps, which is great because a lot of other finance apps have unnecessary parts to input simple entries.

Suggestions:
-Needs more icons (like a different icon, maybe a shirt for "Clothes" category.
-Change "Groups" to "Categories"

One SLIGHT GLITCH...
When you tap an entry (that's already been created) it shows different info for a split second before it changes:
-"currency" instead of what you symbol of currency is
-"Category my aaaaa aaa a aaaaaaaad" instead of your chosen category.
-"Project: My Project" instead of "Main Project"
-"Payment Method: Cash" instead of "Visa"

It's like the programming is
showing instead of the info, just for a split second.

Really like how easy it is to input information.

Simple & quick to use. Great as a quick way to follow your expense. It doesn’t try to do too much and doesn’t complicate things by trying to access banking or credit card links. Doesn’t bog you down with ads or constant requests to buy additional services.

I use LiveExpenses to budget projects for my business as well as personal budgeting & it keeps me on track...always. User friendly with very inexpensive in app purchases that exponentially increase functionality for optimum results in budgeting/tracking/reporting funds & expenses.

It's a very nice and easy to use app I'm using since a while. I bought the extensions so I can have more than one projet and use more than one currency (i travel a lot fir eorking reasons). Here is where the issue comes: since I use different currencies I'm not able to manage the history buton. And there is no support anymore. That's a real pitty.

I am really surprised LiveExpenses is free. It is so well-designed and functions flawlessly. I just use it to track my personal expenses, and the interface is so nice that I look forward to adding entries. I'd give it 6 stars if possible, due to the fact that it's both great and free.

Wish the project main page listing had the current balance for the listed accounts on the front project page for quick review but overall it is a great app to keep expenses in for my business

Whenever I go to big trips, I jot down all expense to even the tip. I like LiveExpenses since it's so easy to use, very manageable and so organized. It's worth adding its features like adding the rest of currencies plus having other projects.

So far LiveExpenses has been wonderful. I am a business owner, wife and mother that needed some way to keep all my project organized separately and LiveExpenses did that for me. Plus I love the picture feature. No problems with anything yet.

I've been using LiveExpenses for my European vacation to keep me on budget and it works pretty well however the categories for expenses could be improved and it would be great if I could see an daily average of my spending.

Easy to use, great for tracking cash expenses. You can create categories of expense types, and view summaries by day/week/month/year. Purchased the multi currency add on and it works well when traveling.

I don’t hav any credit cards or bank accounts and all you have to do for LiveExpenses is enter your currency and start adding what you have. You can add creator card information I think. I haven’t tried.

I like how simple LiveExpenses is to use. The interface was intuitive, I didn't need any instruction. One thing I didn't like, was that I couldn't add my own expense type. I didn't see that that was an option in the premium version, although perhaps it is. If it isn't it should be. But overall this is a great app.
