What happened to this app?

We own the full Logos Bible software. We use the iPad apps (Faithlife Study Bible, Logos Bible) for study and group studies when at church and other homes, nearly daily.

The past several years the apps have had serious issues. Some Faithlife has addressed, like attribution info copied to Notes when a digital book’s passage has been copied and pasted. Some have not, like the formatting keyboard has remained tiny, nearly illegible and lacking most of the options in floating mode and in docked mode.

With this latest update the text options are even fewer. The text size can only be adjusted to larger and never even returned to smaller if you made a mistake.

There’s probably even more issues, but I haven’t had time to look into what else is wrong. I have a lesson to prepare for tonight and I will have to transfer to my laptop and hope that it will be useable on my tablet when I arrive.

Please consider, Logos, contacting me for questions about these issues. I’m tired of submitting questions and issues to the wiki. Only one has been dealt with in 12 years.

Thank you!

I love this bible, I read it all the time and highlight those things that speak to my heart and I even write notes in some of them.
I used to enjoy so much the studies or explanation it used to have, for instance, there was a teaching about suffering that was so powerful, since you reformatted the Bible I don’t find those notes that were so insightful and gave me a broader perspective and understanding of a particular verse. Just a comment that I hope you can bring back, thank you!

Just One Thing, Prayers

When I am doing my morning devotion, I like to have a somewhat simpler window and app to navigate with just my reading plan, my bible/study notes, and prayer list.

I created a layout in my Logos account to accomplish this, but when i am away from my computer I find the Logos app less useful for doing my devotion. THe Faithlife Bible is much better, and easier to navigate.

But I still would like the option to put the prayers pop out window as a tab on my layout (reading plan tab, bible/study notes tab, prayer list tab) so that I could more easily update and organize my prayer list. I think that would mean it would have to be accessible as a tool according to the way FaithlifeStudyBible works, like notes. Maybe in the next update?

Great App

I have had FaithlifeStudyBible before it was linked with the Logos app. I love that it now has that connection.

The only reason I gave it 4 starts instead of 5, is that the Bible Reading Plan feature is not as smooth as it once was. It used to automatically mark a reading as “read” automatically once you had scrolled through the reading. The swiping, clicking “more”, and then selected mark as “read” is less streamlined. It also no longer has a badge notification of Bible Reading reminders. The lock screen notification is good but adding a badge would better like it used to have. It is nice to have a reminder after you have unlocked the phone. If they added these features, I would happily give it 5 stars.

Powerful “Free” Tool … featuring Logos’ trademark STEEP learning curve

Lots of features for free (so why complain?). I have never found Logos’ products intuitive and FaithlifeStudyBible is no exception. Not at all evident how to get started, app immediately requires user to create an account. As I explore, I discover new things everywhere! If fact, seems I found everything except what I was looking for.
Add-on purchases are expensive! Logos bundles contain too much stuff that I wouldn’t use (out of date or not of interest).

Incomplete Experience

I absolutely love FaithlifeStudyBible in the way that allows me to read commentary along with Scripture, side by side.

I have one complaint, and it’s a massive issue with FaithlifeStudyBible. I am a professional User Experience Designer. So I deal with usability and do user research and design and build out user interfaces for web and apps.

My complaint is that some of the content is locked to where you can’t open and read the commentary that is available. Well, that’s fine, I don’t mind paying for the content, but there is no way for me to pay for the content. Why does the experience end there? Why is there not a link for me to purchase the content to which i click on and want to read. End users are stuck, and I am sure I am not the only one that wouldn’t mind paying for the conten.

Excellent

This bible app is one of my favorite apps on the market! I can navigate through it without any issues or problems. I love it because when I have to create sermons and lesson plans it make it very easy. I love the library I established from all of the books recommend. Great app! Psalm 16:11❤️

Usability

I really enjoy FaithlifeStudyBible and especially the Bible studies that are part of my package. I look forward to starting each be doing these Bible studies, I can’t think of a better way to start the day. I would like having a printout of these studies so I could lead a class at my church with this.

Nice but...

Great notes and subsections but too many are locked and online support takes forever to get back to you. I still have many sections showing a lock on it but no way to see the additional material. I've already bought 3 versions and still nothing!
Still same review!

HANDS DOWN THE BEST BIBLE STUDY APP!!!!!!

I have never in my life felt compelled to write a review....EVER! But today I have to! I’m recently getting back into bible study and this is literally the best tool for bible study! It gives you EVERYTHING! Historical context, pictures, video, background and breakdown of all the books and characters within it, the time place significance EVERYTHING !!!!!! And it’s all FREE! God bless the developers YOU GUYS ARE A BLESSING!

Fabulous learning tool

I usually hate reading the Bible on a device. This has changed that. The study notes, pictures and illustrations take it to a whole new level. I find myself reading with joy as I uncover each new gem and I can’t wait to uncover more. Thank you Michael Heiser and all who worked so hard on this wonderful app.

I’ve been enjoying this app so far...

I’ve really been enjoying FaithlifeStudyBible so far, the fact that it’s a study bible has increased my hunger for the Word, the illustrations and facts and references are awesome. It also makes study materials that u might have needed to search for readily available but we should always cross check to be certain...that’s studying to show ourselves approved.

Making my quiet time exciting again

This is such a wonderful app! I’m enjoying reading it alongside my Bible everyday. It has informative articles and extremely helpful insight into each passage. I’m so thankful for the free version. I heard about it on a podcast from the late Dr. Michael Heiser. We will miss him indeed, but he has left behind so much knowledge.

Thankful

I have been using this study bible for many years, gosh I was was in the Lexham bible for quite some time before I realized I could add other translations and, I DID!
The list of applicable tools goes on and on…VERY useful. Of course, those involved in theological study, multiple resources are required, it’s a simple reality and, FaithlifeStudyBible is a good place to start!

Best Bible App

I’m a pastor and I use FaithlifeStudyBible all the time. From daily devotions to sermon prep and preparing teachings for Bible studies, I like that I have access to my Logos library. I’m also a grad student working on my thesis and I like that I can use FaithlifeStudyBible on my phone or iPad and still have access to the resources that I need.

The latest version does have a glitch. I cannot sign out and the link to report a problem isn’t working either. I’m assuming this is just a normal bug but it’s a little inconvenient but hopefully they get that fixed quickly.

Get FaithlifeStudyBible. You won’t regret it. It is absolutely fantastic.

What I was looking for

This is exactly what I needed. I enjoy sermons because they teach me the things I can’t figure out and don’t know, as so does FaithlifeStudyBible. Provides some historical context, defines obscure words, and points out things I miss side by side (well, top and bottom) while reading the Bible. It may take me 15 minutes to get through a chapter, but it makes that chapter so much more meaningful.

Faithlife study Bible

This Bible study app is easy to use and I love how the study notes are alongside the text. Tap on the letter or number in the text and get immediate insight into either the Jewish way of looking at the verse or other translations of the word translated into given word. While I prefer a Bible I can touch with my hands this is good to have for witnessing when we don’t have a physical Bible with us. I recommend it and it is free!! Shalom

Keep spreading Jesus words

I thank you guys for permitting me to use FaithlifeStudyBible from of charge.

FaithlifeStudyBible is very useful to me in understanding many phases and context in the Bible.

By the grace given me in Christ Jesus, I been a devout believer since 2019 to present.

God is real and his present is the most sweet place to be, but you must be ready to wait on him for only for all your spiritual need.

To walk with Jesus is a personal journey that will require endless time of waiting, and fighting many different battles through the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God in Christ Jesus.

I began my spiritual journey by facing satanic welfare after welfare. Please don’t be deceived, satan and his demons are also real and actively against believers in Christ Jesus.

Much love in Christ Jesus to all you guys making it possible for us to be informed deeply in the revelation of Christ Jesus.

Thanks in appreciate to all…

Some Very Nice Features

This has some great features that enhance daily Bible Study. The study notes are displayed as you view the scriptures. It is a nice touch to be able to link to see actual pictures of places described in the Bible. It would be nice if other public domain Bible translations were able to be loaded as well as Greek/Hebrew lexicons. It would be nice if the note area could be expanded to increase the space for notes. This is a good App and one that I recommend every serious Bible scholar should consider getting. (It is free).

Information Plus so much more

FaithlifeStudyBible is loaded! I would highly recommend it to anyone. If you have never had a Study Bible you definitely need to download FaithlifeStudyBible it will increase her knowledge base and help you study for any lessons or personal time. The photographs and videos really give you a fell for the scriptures!!!
