Excellent studies/Work in progress

I love the studies in WordGo. They are in-depth and allow for great discussion and discovery. In addition, the notes and the lectures really cater to the different ways everyone learns. This is a great way to understand God’s word though the teachings of the Bible.

WordGo itself takes some getting used to. The navigating can sometimes be glitchy and inconvenient. Also, as I can figure WordGo is only for the phone. This is becoming a barrier for some of my older family members who already are not used to technology. If possible, making WordGo tablet capable will make it a little better. Also, there is no way to print out information (though that might be by design).

All in all I enjoy WordGo. We will be starting our third study in 1 and 2 Thes next Monday. Thanks for giving us another way to know God’s word.

WordGo by BSF is solid biblical learning

I was so blessed when I found BSF and again when this app came out. I do both and love the depth of biblical learning and guidance. It is easy to navigate and the lectures and daily audios help pull it all together. I love that you can select are study time, how many days etc and that WordGo will prepare the daily lessons based on such. I’ve shared it with many friends and am helping them understand how to use it. I also love the tutorials on how to lead a group etc.

A couple of things that I think can be improved in WordGo :
1. The daily reminder does not seem to keep up with where I am at in the study. If I do an extra day or two, it reminds me to do the next day vs intuitively knowing I’ve already done those days.
2. I’d love to see the option added to read an introduction to the book chosen to study; or at least a reminder to those using WordGo to read the introduction in their study bibles. If one does not have a study bible, having it on WordGo would be helpful for the reading to understand who wrote the book, when, to what audience etc…
3. When trying to set up the group with my daughter I couldn’t get it to conclude the set up. She did finally get it but trying to schedule the time etc. I’ll have to play with it more.

Thankful for this great app and I have no doubt that you will continue to make improvements and address any app issues.

Living loving learning

I found WordGo very easy to navigate but there is some room for improvements which I’ve already seen some come through in the updates. Most importantly it is a wonderful way to study God’s word. The study notes each day are a nice added touch. The application questions make examine yourself and are great during group discussions. I’ve done two studies so far using Zoom video conferencing to do groups. I especially love that the length of the studies are around 4-5 weeks. I’ve seen comments about all questions not showing up. WordGo lets you select how much time you want to devote to study each day. If your time is short, then you won’t see all the questions. However if you have just 20 minutes each day, I think you will see them all. Thank you BSF, you are a blessing!!

High quality studies, rough UI

Love the quality of the Bible study. But always the first question of a new day doesn’t show within the Questions tab of that day. I’m forced to click on the calendar icon and see a full list of all questions. Very inefficient and annoying.

In general the UI is a little confusing. Why is the weekly lecture on top if it’s meant as the last thing to do before group study? Why are questions missing from the individual days? Why can only the leader add and edit the prayer requests text box? It would be easier if all group members could write and enter things.

Wow! Great way to connect with friends and God!

When the CoronaVirus hit, there were about 9 of us from different cities (and states) who wanted to connect to each other and to the Bible to seek help and guidance during this time of isolation and loneliness. I had heard of this app and wanted to try it. I appreciate how WordGo dine tunes it for you—how many days you want to study, trainings for the host, answers to questions, reminders on your phone to study (if you choose). We started with the 4 week Ruth study and it was amazing how applicable it is to what’s going on in the world right now. We also appreciated the podcast/lecture as well as the notes.
One of the women in the group liked it so much she is going to start another group using it too.
Well done this app.

Great Content - Clunky App

Having been a member of a BSF class for 20 years I am so excited that the approach and great teaching is available to anyone who wants to study God’s word in a small group. If you are looking for great teaching, and questions that go beyond the surface of scripture passages look no further.

However, WordGo is clunky (especially on iPad) it only works in portrait mode and there is no way to see the scripture passage and questions at the same time, I have to keep going back and forth, or grab my physical Bible. It also doesn’t have the ability to highlight the notes that come with the daily study, which makes it hard for me to refer back to them during our discussions.

I would still highly recommend it, but long for WordGo to be made more user friendly.

It’s Pretty good, but a long way from completely User Friendly

The information is good, but your app is not user friendly. I too have received the message that I could not use the email because it was being used- by me! My whole class had an issue getting access to the studies. We had to type out the questions for the class. Also, your lectures are not Deaf friendly. I used a second email as a teacher and still had issues closing out the class and beginning a new one. I think you should eliminate the need for a teacher to close out the class before we can start a new study. Also eliminate the limitations of one lesson per week. If I am studying on my own, I may finish in a week. Also it would be nice if i could have access to more than one study at at time if i choose like YOUVERSION and their Bible reading plans. Bless you all for making this available. I am trusting it will become more user friendly as the months go on.

Also, I cannot use it in portrait view on my IPad.
I copy all your info into my NOTABILITY app to make it more me friendly.

Blessings for your hard work. I am sure when you get these glitches out, it will be FANTASTIC. Cheers.

Increase depth of understanding

If your in need of a greater understanding of the Bible and desire to grow spiritually, WordGo is for you. It’s best to use WordGo with a group to gain the perspectives and insights of your group members allowing for deeper understanding of the Word. It’s flexible to the time you can commit to daily study. You can choose to study for 5 minutes up to 30 minutes. My group appreciated the higher thinking questions in each study as well as the descriptive notes for passages that were hard to understand. The notes provide valuable historical facts and cultural context to help readers know more about the stories they’re reading.

Give me notification opt out choice.

The content is good but WordGo needs work. Really HATE that they force me to accept “reminders” at certain times and days to study. I don’t want to be reminded because my schedule changes. Give me a choice and let me opt in or opt out and decide what’s best for me. I can’t use any of the studies without setting up times/days for them to remind me. This is enough for me to not use WordGo. I’ve had problems with WordGo opening screen freezing and spinning and I have to kill WordGo to clear it. I also would prefer an iPad app but the developer told another reviewer “hope they find something else to study” if they want to use the iPad. So apparently they have no interest in making this for the iPad.

Small group success

With huge gratitude again for BSF and endeavors to keeping us believers in the word! Common thread in our small group was the struggle to stay in Gods word throughout the week. this app has created the space and opportunity to keep our group accountable by staying in Gods word easily with WordGo! We now are coming together and sharing each week sharing what we have learned from God through each book of the Bible. I love we are going so fast and covering so much in God word! It was exactly what we needed. Thank you again! Can’t wait for more books of the Bible to be added into this app! Praying for y’all as well!

Technically lacking

It’s extremely frustrating that an app with so much to offer makes you log in repeatedly as if it’s your first time using it. It’s a little thing, minor even, but it’s frustrating because other apps that require a log in remember you on your own phone. WordGo doesn’t use the thumbprint (old phone) or Face ID to recognize you. Sometimes it won’t even keep you logged in if you come back to it later in the same day. It’s one thing if WordGo has to reopen, but no other app I have requires me to login my email and password just about every time I open it. Again, it’s extremely frustrating. The actual content in WordGo is worth it and it’s surprising and disappointing that the sign in isn’t setup/handled better.

Excellent content to learn about bible and Gods love

WordGo is great. The content is helpful, engaging, and an overall excellent resource for learning your bible and understanding context and content.
There is a learning curve with WordGo . If you set your time study time under :30 it will skip questions. (Seems like a glitch but it’s not).
Things can be a little hard to find at times, sometimes I just have to push every button to find it so they could work on making it a little more user-friendly but overall the content is the best I found.

Incredible studies

The Bible studies are wonderful. There are some great in-app features like the prompt to pray before each study’s and it adjusts the study to your needs. Although the information and study are exceptional WordGo itself can be confusing, hard to navigate and is lacking. Hopefully that will change with an update. The personal study format was better than the group. It seemed pretty straightforward after the confusing registration. The organization of the group study format could definitely use some improvement. Despite the minor frustrations of WordGo I will continue to use this study and would suggest anyone else to as well.

Great Studies

I enjoy the studies. The lectures are excellent. I like that I can go at my own pace. It’s a little cumbersome for me to navigate. It seems to not always open where I left off. That may be something I’m doing wrong.
I would like to be able to have it on my laptop. Using the phone is not as easy for me.
Also, I attended BSF classes. There was no mention of WordGo. I learned about it from my daughter. I have shared about it with others.
I have not, formally, done this as a group, but have discussed passages, as I’ve gone through them, with others.
I prefer this over the BSF meetings.

Great!

It’s a great app. The studies are great, the content is exactly what I was looking for.

The only thing I don’t like is the weekly progress bar at the top of the screen. I wish it were at least a grid with lines but numbered or labeled with the days would be even better. Sometimes i lose track and it gets confusing which day i stopped on. The reminders and notifications are not working every day, so if i miss a few days i have no idea which day I’m on, especially now on the lent study, its a little confusing since the new week restarts every Wednesday.

Designed for phone only

I’ve been part of BSF for 25 years and would love to use WordGo. However, I prefer using a tablet with keyboard. Since WordGo is designed for smartphones only, it’s usable only in portrait mode. That means landscape mode on my tablet with keyboard is unavailable.

Please consider allowing landscape orientation. I’d love to do these extra studies with my kids and other friends but find typing on a phone to be a terrible hindrance for me.

I’m giving it 4 stars despite not having used it. I’m sure it’s wonderful, but the lack of landscape mode knocks it down a notch.

Still a little rough

Great way to bring the word home. I love that the notes are right there to read daily. I wish that the scripture notations in the questions would be a link or listed in the daily reading so I wouldn’t have to open another app or go find my bible. I would love to highlight the notes. As a group leader I have no idea what is sent to my invitees and if I need to make other contact with them to encourage them to come...I sent myself an invite at another email address...which I haven’t looked at yet.

What an awesome resource

I am so thankful for WordGo. It has been such a great resource for my husband & I but has also worked great for the young adult group at our church and for my parents who are rather isolated right now. So far I have done the advent study, the wisdom study and the James study. I just began the Acts study. Each have been really helpful in renewing a passion for the Bible and for stimulating me to love and good works.
Thank you - I will keep sharing WordGo because it’s been a game changer for me.

Sorry to Report Big Bugs

Sadly as we began our second study WordGo has taken a big dump. Can’t navigate the day, scriptures, questions anything.
Be very very cautious in trying WordGo. Sorry BSF we really want to have a great experience but it ain’t happening.
Now why do we have to email you when we have problems if our email address is associated with our comment / review so tightly that it brings up our previous review? There are massive issues here this app. Please provide support or reasons for the issues being catalogued. Sad that BSF is getting this reputation hit. You may need to investigate your developer partner. Now we can’t even see the questions so we can move our group to manual study .

God’s Word on the move

I’m so thankful to The Lord for leading me to this app! WordGo is a fantastic tool for year around study and sharing of God’s Word. this app is leading the way in providing prayer time, “bite sized” Scripture passages, thoughtful and heartfelt questions, enlightening notes, superior lectures that are clear and convicting, and weekly “icing on the cake” in sharing with others. All these parts are working to fulfill the Great Commission of Our Lord to Go and make disciples, bringing the seeking heart face to Face with Jesus. Thanks again in all your efforts for God’s Kingdom. Marguerite

Problem with scrolling on Act l study

Is anyone having problems with day one and three of being able to scroll down the page? It look like on my iPhone the assigned scripture takes up so much of the screen space it won’t allow me to scroll down the page to read the text. I can’t scroll at all. Is this just my problem or are others having it too?

A few bugs

5 of us in our small group and somehow the number of daily questions vary for each of us studying Joshua. Not a problem as we shared with each other, but maybe the questions could be found cumulatively no matter what week the group is on. Great content and awesome set up for a study!

Wonderful!

this app is perfect for my small group. We meet for lunch and lessons weekly. We have a wide variety of biblical knowledge and this study works for everyone. We have seen real growth! Doctrinally sound. Challenging for all levels. Try it!

Bug not showing all questions

It seems I’m the only one in our group who can’t see the second or third questions eg (2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 10, or 11). The review and reflect pages show the two questions but the day 1-4 only show the first question. I have iOS version 12.4.4 and an iPhone 6. Please fix, thanks!

iPad app needs to be looked at

So far the iPhone app looks and works great but you need to look at the iPad app. The scaling is off and it will not show you the entire screen or let you resize to see everything.
