I’ve had a policy with Horace Mann close to 2 years and HoraceMann used to work fine.

But, for the last year, I haven’t been able to view my car insurance policy on HoraceMann , only on the website. It didn’t bother me at first, but now it’s been almost an entire year. Called support, they basically said “oh yeah we are switching systems over but I can email a copy”. So wait, you’ve been switching systems over for an entire year??? Are they even trying to be competitive? I can view my insurance cards on any other companies app except yours. It’s been a year. Fix it!!!!

This “update” has a horrible UI and UX. It’s just so bad. The green and white cut through the time and cell strength indicator, the poorly chosen icons, the white home indicator for the iPhone X, XR, XS, and Max cut into some of the bottom buttons and font.

Who ever they hired for HoraceMann (assuming it’s a third party vendor) should be fired and they should find another vendor to make their app.

In addition to that there no modern conveniences! No FaceID or fingerprint, and no quick views or at a glance views. Like it would be nice to be able to see your insurance card just by opening HoraceMann . Then if we need to do more we are required to log in.

I really think they should hire some college kids to help design HoraceMann and have a single project manager over see the project. I’d be happy to do it.

Not sure what is going on with app. Click retirement account and nothing loads.
App seems like it is from the 80s. Time to switch to Fidelity

The user interface is quite pedantic. Cannot access account balances. No plan or relevant information readily available. Poor app.

There is no information available in HoraceMann. It is absolutely useless. If I could give it 0 stars I would.

This is the absolute worst app I’ve used. Got my first iPhone in 2007. I’ve built apps professionally. They got everything wrong. Seriously, almost nothing works on HoraceMann — and it’s an important one.

HoraceMann constantly fails. No face ID. No way to add your ID cards to your wallet app. Cannot utilize all functions of website. Very slow and cumbersome. Needs an entire revamp. Useless. Better off to use the website.

HoraceMann stopped working in 2018 and no one has updated it since. All my policies show expired and canceled! And it never changes. HoraceMann is useless. Can’t see your policies, get ID cards or pay a bill. It does absolutely NOTHING!

Why can’t I view Roth IRA info? That’s the entire reason I downloaded HoraceMann ! Viewing policies and retirement accounts is the main thing people want to be able to do quickly. HoraceMann fails at that- and it wouldn’t even be a hard feature to implement!

I can’t believe in the year 2020, you offer a Svc app that doesn’t allow acct payments, the website doesn’t show all the accts, & I have to call an 800 number to post a payment. Pull back on the unnecessary bells & whistles for programs and modernize HoraceMann .

The only thing HoraceMann is good for is contact info. I can easily do that by using google. It also shows me what accounts I have, but I can’t see the accounts. I already know my accounts. I want to see the activity, which I cannot see. I’m deleting the AP.

I only tolerate Horace Mann to take advantage of a company match on a 403b at work... otherwise, I would take my business and money elsewhere.

HoraceMann hasn’t been updated in two years as of this review (February 2021) and you can’t even view retirement investments... Completely useless.

After all the ridiculous fees they charge on investments, you’d think they’d have an app where you can actually check your balances. Nope. I have to sign in on a web browser just to see limited information that’s not user-friendly at all.

Do better.

Set up new account but they never sent text to log in. When we tried to log in again, it says that the email is not registered. When we try to set up as new user, it says email is already registered. So it’s not possible to get in. Terrible App just as others say. Don’t waste your time.

The only company that only notifies you that your bills are due, when they’re overdue. There aren’t any options to allow notifications on HoraceMann and I only ever receive emails when my bill is due on that day (which they process the next day then charge me a late fee) or overdue. They want you to go paperless but don’t want to notify you otherwise.

App is useless. Can’t get any info. It’s 2022 apps should work. I’m ready to switch to another company

If I want to VIEW my insurance card, or VIEW my bill, I can. But I can't PRINT my card or PAY my bill. That would provide a lot more convenience.

It would be great to have Touch ID login. The reason you have an insurance card on your phone is for quick access. If I need to show it to an officer, I hope they let me type in the password.

I don’t understand why I can see my car insurance details but not these two accounts’ details. The old app let me see how much were in them.

Add Apple Pay for Payments & FaceID for easy sign in. Pls update the UI of HoraceMann. I rather use my web browser to access my account. SMH

I can pay my bill, access my policy numbers, make a claim, contact my agent and even see my VIN number for each vehicle. Impressive!
