As much as this game is fun, it’s nearly impossible to complete without gems. And gems are nearly impossible to get without paying actual money, which is dumb! I’m literally at a point in the game where I can’t complete any of the tasks because I have no gems, and I’m not willing to buy them! There are several pets, items, etc. that you need to buy to progress with the game and you literally cannot without buying gems. Also, one other thing I’m not a huge fan of is the fact that if you need to use gems to buy parts for a pen that you can’t complete, it says, for example, that you can use two diamonds to buy this and two diamonds to buy that, but then there’s a buy all down below which is like 50 gems? I think that’s just kinda strange, because who in their right mind would press the ‘buy all’ if there was a cheaper way to do it. If you’re going to implement the ‘buy all’ to begin with, add it as the same amount as buying them separately would cost.
But other than the gems thing, this game is really fun and enjoyable, it’s well made and there is really a great variety of animals.

I found this game on PetShopStory stone one day and I wanted to try it out, but I was very disappointed. Fist of all I want to point out that this game is for ages 4 and up so it is kind of cheesy when it comes to graphics and sense. Like how people just walk out with their new pet practically stealing from you, or obviously how when a person buys a pet, the pet in their “habitat” the person buys doesn’t disappear like I feel it should. Almost like the pets you have are on display like a candy store in Disneyland. Another problem I found with the game that also doesn’t make sense is that there are more than one kind of person, like people have a bunch of triplets and twins that keep walking into the store. Anyways the real problem I had was with the higher type of money form the game offers, also known as gems. I feel that you don’t get enough, mostly because a lot of the pets and many other things cost gems. One of the things I found really wrong was when I was changing my store name and I found out that It actually cost GEMS to change your name, and I did realize that until I wanted to change it a third time witch led me to right this review and delete the game from existence, or at least delete all my progress (witch wasn’t a lot).

I’ve been playing maybe a week, and now every single animal I breed shows up with a “your baby is sick” message. So I can either forfeit all the coins that I saved up and the time I committed (sometimes days) to breed that pet and start over, knowing the same thing will happen next time, or I can use the last few gems I have.

Gems are WAY overpriced considering the number you need to buy a pet or save a sick baby. I know in-app purchases support developers, but it’s not optional in this game, and it’s definitely not worth it for what you get. There are so many other games out there where you can make progress for free or with very affordable IAPs that actually give value for your money. They could at least add an option for people who can’t pay money where we can choose to watch ads to get gems.

I’ve also had issues with having to buy pets multiple times because they disappear (along with the coins I paid) and completing quests that require a bunch of friends or a stash of gems to complete the different steps. It was fun at first but I literally can’t progress further now unless I pay a lot of real money. Not worth the download—as soon as you start to enjoy yourself you’ll be stuck.

This game is fun. I’m 18 years old and I remember playing this when I was like 12 or 13. I re-downloaded it & not much seems to have changed since then but I just can’t continue to play this game anymore. Like everyone has said, it seems like the ONLY way to get gems is to pay real money for them. On top of that, 8/10 tasks I have right now are asking me to use 15+ gems on EACH TASK. Do the math, I’m not paying that much for a game. Another user mentioned something that happened to me as well: I bought a mate and started breeding and then the game glitches, and my money I just spent along w the animals I got just disappeared! I tried refreshing multiple times and even deleted and reinstalled app, but I just had to purchase another mate to move forward. Like I said, super cute game, fun concept, but if no one does anything about the tasks, glitches, or gems, pretty soon no one is gonna want to play anymore. Storm8 has great games that I play other than just this. Do better please

While I was collecting my coins earlier today I accidentally clicked on the buy coins button and then the the one with 9. Now I have worked super hard to get my nine gems and was saving them to get a special pet so I would like to ask that you add a button asking if you to confirm the purchase and possibly a refund button, especially since the amount of gems I accidentally spent is worth more than what I received in exchange considering how difficult it is to get gems. The game itself is very fun and enjoyable but the gem part of it is kind of absurd and it is way to difficult to get gems especially since most of the missions to earn gems, end up costing a ton of money, take super long, or end up needing gems themselves. Over all I think that there should be some adjustments made about gaining gems, and spending gems. And if they are going to continue to be this difficult to earn please make a button asking you to confirm your purchase because I am presently very frustrated and slightly upset because I have spent two weeks trying to get 5 of those nine gems. So now I have no gems. Summary of my request, make gems easier to get possibly, make a confirm button for purchases including gems, and make a refund button. Thank you for reading all the way down to here and I would very much like to see a response to my request.

This game is awesome! I’ve played it every since I was a little kid. I downloaded it again to kinda reminisce on some nostalgia but I was sad to see there had been no major changes after years. First off, I really think there needs to be an option to change the wallpaper, flooring, or door. I think it’s a really fun way to make the shops unique. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY! This game relies so heavily on gems and sometimes coins when it comes to moving forward and progressing in this game! When I had downloaded it, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw I could do missions for gems! It was an awesome way to actually WORK FOR THE GEMS AND EARN THEM. Please at least include gems when you level up? It would be better for those not willing to spend actual money on something that can’t even be device-transferable. Otherwise those technicalities, the game is so much fun to play, and is super addictive. The variety of pets is outstanding!

I have been playing this game for years, I've been through re-downloads, starting over, and, of course, some problems. It's a pretty fun game and all, but it does have some problems. I don't really like the fact that you are only allowed to get pets that cost coins unless you pay when kids like me want to play it and don't want to spend money. Not that long ago I bought gems when on-sale. I don't like the fact that I couldn't restore the purchase when, if I remember correctly, I got a new phone and had to restart. I also have experienced glitches. Some minor ones where animals don't show up in their pens. I also just bought a Jack Russel Terrier mate. I closed PetShopStory like usual, came back, and it wasn't there. It wanted me to buy a mate, when I just did. This had happened to me twice, and I don't like that it took my coins but but didn't give the dog back. Nice idea, but this wasn't that greatly made.😞

I started off loving the game! The missions to earn money and gems was great but now there are no missions. I guess bc I got to a certain level I'm not sure but I miss the missions. I have completed every collection except for 2. I cant complete them because the border collie cost 149 gems come on that's freaking ridiculous. And I can't complete the other collection bc I don't have the border collie to get the frog and use the frog to breed the
Bill frog... also around 139 gems to add another breeder seriously. The game depends to much on gems and there is no way to earn gems. Some in app purchases are fine but this is suppose to be a free game to enjoy. You can't enjoy it if you can't purchase pets bc you can't buy gems bc they are way to expensive and you can't earn them for free. Also some things cost to many coins I mean to upgrade close to 70,000 that's ridiculous. Please make these changes... if not I'm gonna delete this game.

This is a really good game in my opinion and I would definitely recommend but there needs to be some changes and I hope you can take this into consideration… first there is way to many things that require gems and there is very few ways to get gems… for example there is pets and supplies etc that require large amounts of gems in order to buy that thing and there is very few ways to get gems other then tasks, but the tasks will make you spend thousands of coins on unnecessary items and then you only get like 5 gems when these products require way higher amounts. Another thing is tasks require you to buy certain things and do certain things in order to get the money or gems but you spend WAY more then you get in return.

I really like this game and wouldn’t have taken my time to write this all out if I hadn’t… I think this game could improve greatly if these things would improve and I know me for one would like it much better.

This game is fun and a great way to play with your digital pet! You can make your shop bigger by buying pets, and you can visit your friend’s shop! Pet shop is a great way to play with your pets! I do wish that they would let you collect gems from your pets, so it is easier, but overall, pet shop story is a great fun game to play, and you should try it out!

It is ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to get gems from this game without paying real money! This stinks because half of the really cool pets need gems, and I am all out of them! The pets cost way to much gems! For example, the game lets you start with a few gems, which are enough to get ONE pet! And it is really frustrating when there is just one pet, that you can’t get without paying real money! Also if you are trying to sell a pet that costs gems in the first place, it pays you back with like 100 coins, when that gets you like the cheapest pet in the game! You NEED to please lower prices and once in a while give us a gem or 2.

Please fix my request-or I probably won’t play

I love playing this game, and it’s been great for keeping me sane while social distancing. However, there are multiple glitches that are very annoying. The one that bothers me most is that when you earn a pet and you buy a mate for it the mate disappears and then you have to buy another mate.
I just earned the Jack Russell, bought a mate, and started breeding a baby. Then my mate disappeared and my nursery was empty, but I had lost the money that I spent on them. This glitch is very frustrating and I would enjoy the game much more if it were fixed.
My other issue with the game is that too many things rely on gems. I understand that the point of this game is to make money for the company, but gems really should be reserved to purchase cool pets or decorations. In my opinion it’s absolutely unfair to have a task rely on purchasing something that costs gems when they’re almost impossible to earn in the game.
Also, once you reach a certain point breeding times are much too long. It should not take multiple days to breed almost everything.
Again, I would like to reiterate that I genuinely enjoy this game. I would not bother leaving a review asking for fixes if I didn’t. This is a great game and you will enjoy playing it. However, I would love to see these glitches fixed ASAP.

There's some issues i would like to discuss regrading Pet Shop Story, first off I'll start with the good of course! This game is very challenging, and exciting when it comes to making your shop unique, and stand out. I like the the vast variety of pets, and decorations to help spark things up. Another huge thing i like about this game is you can design everything yourself, according to your taste; no limits to that, i love it. " ok, now I'm gonna discuss the issues/difficulties I'm experiencing." Number one- why are you not able to save the game, " like if something were to happen with my current device/an or i wanted to play the game on a different device I wouldn't have anything backed up even though i logged in to my fb account, and made sure i was logged in on my other device. So in other words I'm gonna be less likely to wanna purchase anything from PetShopStory, and put all my hard work in to it just to loose it all. I would really, really appreciate if just that small problem could be fixed, it would mean sooo.. much! You don't even know!

This is a good game and I like it a lot but there are a lot of problems that should be changed. First of all there are not enough ways to get gems. Some of the animals in this game are very expensive. At first the game gave you gems by completing missions but as you level up there are no missions. I'm at the point we're there are no ways to get gems unless I pay real money and I find that pretty harsh. Plz make there be another way to get gems such as watching ads or more missions that give you gems. Another problem is that I got the jack Russell and I got it a mate and later it said buy mate again. So I had to buy it a mate twice which disappointed me. Also some of the animals are too expensive like the border collie is 149 GEMS!!! THATS OUTRAGEOUS. No one will be able to get that unless they pay real money. One more thing that annoys me is that it takes so long to breed some animals for example it takes 3 days to breed a gold fish, that is way to long. Even two days is a little too much. It should be a 1 day limit. There should be more animals where it takes like 2 or 4 hours to breed. Overall this is a great game but plz make changes!!!!

I remember when I got my first tablet, as a kid in 2010, I downloaded this game and from then on I’ve always downloaded this game on every device. At the time it was fairly new so the bugs were fixed pretty early on and was a fun long term game since it reflects real hours.

Now, in 2022, I made a new account and have been playing for a few months again but I noticed it seems like the developers abandoned the game, which is a HUGE bummer!! So much potential!! From the Jack Russells being indefinitely invisible, to the game not even fitting the new iOS screens anymore, it’s all just bumming me out.

Another small complaint that apparently I’m not alone in is how gems are a key part of the game but you HAVE to pay money to play it well. I understand in app purchases being a good source for income in games (if done right) but since the game doesn’t even fit my phone screen then I don’t feel right purchasing a handful of gems for a hundred bucks. Prices definitely should be lower if you’re buying gems and even then there should be more tasks that offer gems are rewards for younger kids to fully enjoy the game.

I’d love to see these changes and I’d LOVE to see the developers pick this one back up and upgrade it to the potential we all know they can achieve.

I played this game back when it first came out and have gone through phases of deleting and redownloading the game simply because it become monotonous after awhile. What's funny is that everytime I came back to the game nothing ever changed about it! Its like the developers have given up on sprucing up the game and making it more interesting! Keeping the game the same does add an element of nostalgia every time I come back to it however there are somethings that are in desperate need of improvement. For instance, it is almost IMPOSSIBLE to earn gems in this game unless you buy gems, there should be a system in place to make it easier to earn gems, maybe minigames, or even amp up the goal rewards (which aren't all that good in the first place considering you have to sometimes spend a TON of coins and only get a small amount in return)

The issue with the gems is my main problem with this game but there are also a few glitches that I have noticed along the way. I think the developers have just overlooked this game and it is in some desperate need of attention.

I hope this review finds the developers well and there is some form of action takes about these issues!

I really like this game. It’s super fun and I love all the super cute animals! It’s almost perfect. Except for the cost of some of the products. If u want a 2 nursery bed you have to pay 149 diamonds!!! And diamonds are kind of hard to get. You also have to pay diamonds to crossbreed almost anything. I think that it should be made easier to get diamonds and not have to pay diamonds to crossbreed. They should also lower the price of the 2nd nursery bed. I also had some problems with the jack Russell that I got from collecting certain animals. I bought the dog a mate and when I came back it was gone and it hasn’t showed up in 2 weeks. It wants me to pay for another one when I already bought one! Other then those problems it’s a super fun game and I do recommend it. 💗💗💗💗💗

So I’ve played this game on and off for years and I love it. I check it everyday and I love adding more animals and completing the missions and all of that because it’s a lot of fun and I’ve never really had a problem. But recently I completed a collection, the “Devoted Companion” collection and in completing the mission I’m supposed to receive a Jack Russel Terrier. I got the animal but when I put it out in the pen, it wasn’t there...I tried clicking on it to ya know to buy a mate and complete the family but I can’t. Due to the bug I meant to put it in storage and bring it back hoping that would fix it but I accidentally deleted it and now it’s nowhere to be found. What can I do to get a jack russel terrier?? Is it purchasable because I went through the market like 5 times and I couldn’t find it. Please help if you can, thank you.

Hey I’m back and I still have nothing against this game but still some ideas. So when I wasn’t playing it often the game stared sending me like five notifications a day. Witch it didn’t bother me at first but then I was looking at all my apps and then sow I had over 100 notifications on this game! So that’s just one thing. The other thing is I hate that if you don’t come to get your animal babies in time they become sick and then you have to spend in game money to heal them. It’s really sad when you don’t have enough to do so and you have to like leave then on the streets. I mean I get it’s a game and I don’t think anyone in the world is mean enough to do that in real life. But it’s still really sad in game or not. So that’s all I wanted to say my rating still hasn’t gone up or down but still great game I hope you add more soon. Bye!

Before I say anything negative about the game, I love this game. It’s so much fun. I love animals and I was so sad when the game Mini Pets left. (R.I.P. Mini Pets) This game is pretty much the same game and I love that about it. But some pets cost so many gems and it’s pretty much impossible to get gems. It’s so so annoying. I think that adds should be added. Like if you watch an add then you get to spin a wheel with different prizes and you can win gems, coins, and even pets! This would be a great addition to the game so that you don’t have to pay for stuff. Also, I got a chihuahua and whenever I get onto the game it disappears! Like it’s pen is still there and it has hearts floating above the pen, but there isn’t a chihuahua! It’s so so so annoying so please fix it. Overall I love this game and I give it four stars.

I really enjoy pet shop story and all the other “story” games because at this point they are quite nostalgic to me but this one in particular has some problems. Firstly, I don’t know if this is a bug or what but I am unable to add neighbors because when I click the text box the keyboard covers the entire screen and there is no way to get rid of it. Secondly, I don’t like how some of the timed tasks seem to lie, for example it takes 3 days to breed a baby goldfish so I start at noon ready to collect it in 3 days. I get there and the baby is sick because apparently it was ready at 6 am so it ends up being a waste of time and money. I don’t know if you guys just round up some times but I would rather know the exact time so I can plan accordingly. Lastly and this is my biggest complaint, there is no way to earn gems despite them being quite necessary like for completing quests. I also play restaurant story and in that game you can watch ads to earn a couple gems a day but in that game gems are mostly for cosmetics and not “progressing” in the game.
Please please please fix these problems in pet shop story because without it I don’t know how much longer I can keep playing the game. 🙏🏻

It is an awesome game but I do not like that for some enclosures you have to get special things that you have to ask your neighbors for. Also it is way to gem dependent. I earned the first few gems by finishing a job but then there was no way to get a gem. So when you level up you should get at least 10 gems because the animals are a ridiculous amount of gems and kids like me do not want to spend money on a rip off. Also you would never be able to get enough gems to buy some of the animals and some animals are too much money. An example of the most money for an animal is 1,200. So if you do not fix these problems I will delete the game and tell all my friends to not get it. I also think that for every person that leaves the shop with a carrier that the person playing the game should get at least 200 coins. Bye really hope you change these things.
