Total rip-off app

Do not under any circumstance waste your time and money on iCollectMusic!!! All 1150 albums I entered and edited have been missing for a month now and their best solution is for me to start over. Won’t give a refund although I just heard someone else got theirs back after going to the better business bureau. Be warned, do not buy iCollectMusic. This is just the latest after problem after problem!

What’s happening????

iCollectMusic has been AMAZING for years! Lately the website for Sortitapps is down it seems like regularly. If we need to move our collections to another server or something so we don’t lose support if iCollectMusic is ending or closing down or something that would be nice. Not sure what’s going on alter but my collection never seems to be available online or on iCollectMusic anymore. Very frustrated here!

Cool App!

First off, if a majority of your records are from the 50s, 60s, and 70s - you’re gonna be entering a lot of artist and album titles into the search bar looking for your albums. I guess barcode technology came out in the 80s - which is about when I started record collecting. I’d say about 9/10 albums I own have barcodes. Only issue is that the database is not up to date with some of the newer releases, which is fine. Honestly, the joy of iCollectMusic has been going through my entire collection (700+ and still counting!) And seeing albums I forgot I owned. Def recommend this one if your collection is getting outta hand.

Forced to Migrate Collection

Recently was forced to migrate my collection to their new upgrade. Lost half of my album cover images and there is no way to retrieve them short of taking a photo and uploading to iCollectMusic . This is a collection approaching 2000 entries. Very poor planning and testing I must say.

Bad business practices

The only good thing is that I can store my collection, but if I need to edit or do anything else I have to pay for it. Don’t have to do this with the one for books! I also can not use this in the combination app with paying for each one, not right to do this, especially for what you charge!!!

Doesn’t work

Only thing that worked was the scan feature, after that when I tried to save my album it kept saying I needed to save an image for the album cover but when I clicked that there was no option to open camera or anything. Useless so had to delete.

Total junk

Imported less than half of my collection from their own old app. Also the database recognizes about 25% of my cd barcodes. When it does find a title most of the time it won’t save because there is no image or bad field data of some sort. This copany has always had some sort of excuse but no fixes. The next version is always to solve everything. You can’t fix acrummy database or sloppy coding.

Gonzo!

I have been using iCollectMusic for about 9 months now. It was great for my 250 plus collection. Just recently when I was adding a few more albums it got a bit glitchy. Opened iCollectMusic the next day and my entire collection was gone. No where to be found. Get iCollectMusic if you love to waste your time entering all the albums. When I tried to write a review through iCollectMusic it wouldn’t allow me. I had to write this through iCollectMusic Store. Junk!

Don’t Update!!!

I updated and when I opened iCollectMusic it asked me to sign in. When I did it said wrong info, I tried to have password reset and said my e-mail wasn’t in the database. I lost ALL my inventory!

This happened some years ago and I was dumb enough to pay again. Not this time!

Apple really needs to do something about scammer apps.

Price is ridiculous!

I got this because the previous app, Collectors, which I paid $30 for everything, was wiped out.
Now after entering 30 albums I have to pay another $30 plus more on top of that to get the alcohol, music, games, books! So at minimum I have to pay $60 to buy everything or $120 to get the 4 I need.

Ridiculous!

It deleted my music after years of cataloging them.

I have used the paid version of iCollectMusic for years. It’s not perfect, but I liked it until a few days ago. Out of the blue, it erased my almost 900 count record album collection. I guess something glitched on their end because iCollectMusic came back with part of my collection. It’s now missing about 150 albums. I have no clue which ones without going through them all again 😡 what a pain! I will be looking for a different app because I don’t wanna go through this again.

Options

I would like an option to change the format for people who collect songs individually like digitally instead of cd albums

In-App Purchase (Even Though Not Advertised)

The bad: free version limits you to 30 items in your library.

The good: Very easy to use, very powerful search and updates system. It has a big library of titles across nearly every format available with a wide variety of search options. The wish list is great - keep a visual list of everything you want to acquire in a neatly stored location for that trip to Mill City Music in Hopkins, MN.

Missing Link

You can collect books, die cast cars, magazines, legos, stamps, coins, baseball cards or sports cards of any kind. But the collection is not complete until you have iCollectMusic. It has helped me organize my collection and it’s an amazing assistant in arranging everything where I want it to go. If you collect, you must have it!!!

Database Is A Bit Small

I want to preface this by saying that iCollectMusic has an amazing setup and I recommend it to avid collectors like myself. I started collecting albums and cds 2 years ago and have made it up to around 100, iCollectMusic is great for organizing what I have an what I would like in the future. If you collect a lot of pop punk like I do, then be prepared to enter a lot of the new wave albums manually as the database does not have them (for instance: Palaye Royale, Sleeping With Sirens, The Maine, IDKHOW, etc.), however, iCollectMusic does have most older pop punk bands (Green Day, blink-182, Good Charlotte, etc.). My only issue with iCollectMusic is the time that it took to manually enter a lot of my albums.

Fantastic App!

Not sure what I’d do without iCollectMusic. It has saved me several times from buying duplicates!

Update is terrible!!

The old saying “why fix it if it ain’t broke” applies here!! iCollectMusic was perfect as it was and now it’s terrible!! You should have left it alone

Perfect app for record collectors

Keep track of what you already have and/or the condition of each record. I often refer to my list when browsing in record stores.

Great App

I love the display options and sort functions... so easy to use!

Excellent Tool!

Love it. I don’t know if it’s my phone or not but I cannot see any letters are being typed. Are use the movie app and no albums app they are both excellent. Now I can actually find an album quickly or see if I already have it if I want to buy one!!!
