I like your app, but am giving it only 3 stars because of a bug. Sometimes the sun up time displays as a negative number - it’s actually sun down time. And strangely, on Jan 16 sunrise and sunset times do not display at all. Instead there is a message “sun never crosses the horizon”. I suspect it thinks I’m on the arctic circle even though my correct latitude ~40 degrees displays.

I have used TheSun for a very long time and always really enjoyed it. I keep waiting for a bug fix for the sun up time being in negative numbers. While most of TheSun is great (although it’s sunset, not fall), this is a major flaw, and relatively new.

TheSun shows the time of sunrise, sunset, moonrise and set, how many hours until sunset, as well as how many hours of daylight for each day. It also has a scrolling calendar so you can see how many hours and minutes of daylight there will be for any future date.

Hi, bottom line is this: I went to May 9, 2020 to see with the sunrise and sunset and your app said that the sun never came above the horizon that day. 😳

There were three dashes where there is normally a time of sunrise or sunset. I went to May 8 and that was fine - it gave the correct answer. I went to May 10th, ditto. What gives here? I need some certainty in my digital apps. Please advise. Thank you.

Backstory:

I had asked Siri when was the sunset time two weeks from today. (Jan. 9, 2020).

And Siri said that from today through that two-week date, the sunset was 4:43 PM. Which of course is incorrect.

I asked Siri a number of times, same problem.

So I said the heck with this - I gotta re-download that app that I used before Siri. But your app has a glitch for the date of May 9, 2020.

I love the concept, and I also love to have TheSun notify me on my watch, however, after awhile, the notifications stop coming. They do start again, once I open TheSun on my phone again.

After a long time of not looking, I use your app on my phone and iPad often, especially to marvel at how many minutes I lose it stay in the fall, and gain around the vernal equinox.

Elegant presentation, a few little quibbles that I would ask you to consider:
Many of the sunset photos are not really that great. Flickr and Google photos and so many other places have amazing amazing photos – could you not change your feed?
Could you accommodate daylight savings time?
This sums up the like button does not open TheSun Store – “Cannot open TheSun Store”. Also you missed spelled “ad” as “add”.

Although this data is on other weather apps it is easily and beautifully displayed.
Additionally, I get this info quicker using TheSun.

I like to look ahead to see sun rise times in the future. It helps when considering early morning tee times….

I have used TheSun for many years. I travel abroad and TheSun helps me to acclimate to a new time change quickly.

Knowing when when it will be dark helps me to know the right time to end my activities. Thanks.

No bugs, so far, and I like to be able to check the extremes, like the latest sunrise and earliest sunsets for my current location.

Only been on for a week, but it gives times for my location. That’s what it’s supposed to do.👍

TheSun is simple and always works. I’ve had it for years and never, ever had any problems with it. There are other apps with lots of other data, but for sun up and sundown times through the year this one’s the best.

I check TheSun the night before my morning runs to know when the sun will be up. I also check the sunset when going on a road trip so I’m not driving in the dark.

TheSun provides simple information but for me is a source of wonder. Such as around the time of the solstice when for many days the sunset is at the same time, followed by a similar period when the sunrise day after day is at the same time. And of course this is followed by the slightly lengthening days and the pleasure that brings.

Gives you basic sunrise and set and difference from prior and future week and month.

For some reason recently your app now shows negative daylight times which are completely inaccurate. Up until now I was quite satisfied with your app but now it’s become worthless.

Handy for knowing when to raise and lower my flag!
