Sunrise Sunset Lite Reviews

I didn’t expect to see this get updated after all this time. And yet.., here it is! :)

The beauty in SunriseSunsetLite is it’s simplicity. It’s great for a quick reference point for photo shoots in particular.

I could overlook a number of issues but the first 3 locations I entered had wrong sunrise and sunset times. One was off by 1 hour. Two were off by 3 hours. No reason to upgrade to paid version to get rid of ads if the data are wrong.

I guess I'll still be stuck using the complicated timeanddate dot com website offline.

I want to know sunset and dusk before I cycle in the evening. For years I have used the Navy website. from my experience so far, the times in SunriseSunsetLite are no mare than one minute in conflict with the USN data, and most are a match. This is better because it is so fast and can be clearly seen at a glance. I would consider paying for the 99 cent version, though many of the reviews for that product claim that the data is wrong. I am not convinced because I suspect some of these folks are not doing their work right putting in the date (some have acknowledged as much.). Thank you Mr or Ms app developer!

Have used this on my iPhones 4S & 5S for years (may go to a 6 at some point but will not get a 7). Found it to be very reliable. Now getting messages that is outdated & may be slowing phone function. I hope the developer will write an update and not abandon this very nice app. Please?

I upgraded to the pro version so I could enter latitude and longitude but without an internet connection or cell phone connection, my iPhone just froze. I was on a boat offshore wanting to calculate local apparent noon but SunriseSunsetLite said location unavailable and never let me choose a manual position. I downloaded a different calculator and it worked fine. So if you until SunriseSunsetLite can work offline completely, I will not be using it. If you are hiking or sailing in an area without cell service, you'll probably have the same problem. Developer - please fix this, I like the interface.

Like some of the other reviewers, it would not determine my location on my iPhone...giving me a message about poor GPS signal, IPod touch, wifi...yada yada. So, I just stayed in that same location, started the map app (the one that came with the phone OS) and it found my location immediately. Then I launched Mapquest app and it found my location immediately. I then re-launched SunriseSunsetLite and suddenly it could determine my location. Sounds like a software bug. At this location, I've never seen the map apps not able to find my location.

This is a perfect app for the iPod / iPhone. I use it to plan evening bicycle rides to get back before dark. You can easily look up the sunrise / sunset times for any date, not just the current date. I wish they offered an iPad version that would rotate to match the screen orientation.

It works exactly as described in the write up. Now, I know exactly when I legally have to quit fishing. It also inspired me to go lookup definitions around the technical term "twilight." In fact, my only suggestion would be to add those definitions within the program; I had to jump to wikipedia.

This simply wonderful app is both useful and aesthetically pleasing. It was a nice way to wake up this morning—goes great with a cup of Starbucks Yergacheffe! I highly recommend SunriseSunsetLite for anyone who might want to know how long their work day actually was!

I have loved and used SunriseSunsetLite for years. It does exactly what I needed.

Sadly it has not been updated in years. Now when I launch it I get an Apple warning.

So enjoy it while it works but I suspect it will not work in IOS 11.

All I wanted was an app they told me the time of sunrise and sunset so I could plan my landscape photo shoot better. It does just what I wanted and is free and without any adds! Wonderful app, thank you! I plan on paying for the non free just to show my support for a great app.

Perfect for cyclists, joggers, hikers abd others when trying to figure out when to set the alarm clock for the morning. Or whether you need to take lights out with you when you go.

I use this while boating to tell when I can leave and return. The dawn and dusk times are awesome. SunriseSunsetLite is quick to start and find location.

I use SunriseSunsetLite to plan my rides. As a pro cyclist, this is perfect. I would allow for entering of location and not having to use gps. I don't like turning on that setting.

App gives me all the sunrise, etc., data I want. I cross-checked the times against a reference table, & it is accurate for my location, not just the time zone. Will consider upgrading.
