Used to be a good app

2024-11-14

A few years ago it was a good app. Now, and I've triple checked all my settings, it does not use location services while the phone is locked. So all it does is keep track of how long since I started the session. Useless.

Can never attach photo correctly

2024-11-14

The best way to advise your product is social media, which the share and add photo feature is incredibly broken for like 2 years. Sometimes it succeed but most of the time it failed miserably. Been wanted to support TraceSnow but man the quality is sooooo bad!

This app needs bug fixes!

2024-11-14

TraceSnow has great intent but is extremely buggy. TraceSnow automatically shuts off after 10 runs or will stop after I just have started it for the day. The screen also cuts off at the top of the leader board where it lists my ranking. Please issue bug fixes as the overall app is great, it just needs some improvements.

Love the idea of this

2024-11-14

TraceSnow fails to upload my stats about 50% of the time. Have tried deleting and re-downloading, and it has happened on 3 different phones over the years.

Lots of lost runs, whole days missed

2024-11-14

It was a cool idea, but it usually drops one or more runs a day meaning they do not show up or get uploaded. Have had whole days track but never upload and no re upload option. Also I will ride more than one location a day but it does not let you separate them, it counts them as runs at the same location. I’m just really frustrated with so many of my runs not getting uploaded even though it showed me stats like it really did get tracked, no point in using this to help me track if the runs just go away, I’m done with TraceSnow, hopefully they fix these issues one day, I’d pay for a properly working app with re upload capabilities and being able to separate runs at different locations during the same day.

Solid App but Hard to Navigate

2024-11-14

Great utility & generally reliable, but the user interface is very difficult to navigate. Some small bugs & inconsistencies (metric mixed with imperial measurements, gyrometer doesn’t count jumps on iPhone X).

Overall though, it’s more accurate than other tracking apps, the map feature is cool & it’s fun comparing your stats with your friends. Haven’t found a better option. Would recommend despite shortcomings.

Great app but no support for bigger screen

2024-11-14

TraceSnow is very good, GPS is very precise and the information about each run are really nice to follow. But TraceSnow does not support new iPhones with bigger screen, this could be updated.

Nice app no apple health stats?

2024-11-14

Any chance of getting TraceSnow to add a “workout” to the apple health stats? Otherwise it’s a great app, doesn’t kill my battery.

Good App

2024-11-14

I have enjoyed TraceSnow for all my skiing enjoyment over the past year. Recently, could be my phone too, TraceSnow has been getting on a frustrating level. On Saturday Jan. 7th 2017 I skied from 10:00 at night until 3:00 in the morning at Crotched Mountain in Bennington, NH then rode north to ski Attitash from 9-12 and Wildcat for two runs afterwards (very tiring day). Every mountain I started a new session and the conclusion was not satisfactory. TraceSnow did not record my runs at Crotched after midnight until 3am, and it bunched Attitash and Wildcat together in the same session. Thus far my solo session at Sunday River yesterday is all good ✌️

So to the developers of TraceSnow if you could find a way to fix the Crotched Mtn. issue where I (we) can have a session go through midnight and still count as "one day" that would be great.

Great App!

2024-11-14

I really like TraceSnow and use it every time I ski. It is a very smart app, and by just turning it on and off you end up with all your ski trips arranged by resort and full of stats--both for the trip itself but also by month and season. Also fun to see if you can get on the day's leaderboard around the world. If you're wondering how that guy at the top of the leaderboard actually got 35k more vertical than you, you can tap on his stats for the day and marvel. However, the social function and interaction isn't done quite so much or isn't a very integral part of TraceSnow . Or that could just be for me--maybe the capability is really robust. (And I'm thinking, by way of comparison, of an app like Strava, where the social element is very important.)

My one problem with Trace is that it's super finicky about adding pictures to a session. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for when it works and doesn't, and I don't think you can add a picture after uploading a trip.

A Must-have for a Serious Rider/Skier

2024-11-14

I love TraceSnow. I have been using it every time I head to the mountains for a very long time now. It’s great to see stats like runs/vertical/time/max speed/calories and many more.

I never had any issues with TraceSnow, freezing or inconsistent data and I’ve been using it since the earlier versions. If you do have issues, it is most likely your phone’s problem. (I am on an iPhone5)

They recently redesigned it, and it looks good, one big play button is really all you need. I tried couple others but nope, nothing comes close to the design and user friendliness of TraceSnow.

One bug I found; Close TraceSnow . then start a new session again and it will combine all the days stats this is great but say, if you ride in Breckenridge all day then decide to head down to Keystone for a night skiing when you ready to post day’s data, it will combine all the data thinking you were at Breck all day. While this is a big edge case you might want to look into it.

Disable wi-fi and you set to go.

Fun App with some serious data

2024-11-14

Great insight to my mountain experience with the visual mapping of the day's activity and competitive statistics. Very helpful in finding perspective to the mountain and knowing where you've been. I'm sure TraceSnow will just keep getting better. There is even technical support on the other end of the phone if needed, they were very helpful. Thanks for the fun app!!!

Best I have used

2024-11-14

Great ski app, even better if you spend the $200 and get their hardware.

I've been using their separate GPS for many days of skiing and have had a very reliable and seemingly accurate experience with this, and I love the bragging rights you earn with the stats.

Love it for snowboarding but would like a MTB version!

2024-11-14

I like this better than the free strava app because I’m not paying 60$ per year for a GPS tracker app. I wish they would add a mountain biking app as well!

Love it!!

2024-11-14

My favorite ski app and works perfect! Just wish we could get some basic updates like new screen size support for iPhone xr etc!

I’ve used your app for 5 years. This year my first two times out and I get an upload failed message and keep tapping to retry upload and keep getting upload failed message. What’s going on?

Used this app for years but this year 2020 it has gone blank! I have notified trace several times. They always respond we're with the same auto reply, but that is as far as it goes. Such a shame!! It was fun while it lasted.
