Piazza Reviews

I’m a professor- I find myself having to open this app in my browser instead of Piazza in order to get all the functionality that I’d like.
I suppose if all you wanted was to read posts on this app, Piazza would be ok. But even basic things like finding unread posts is much easier on the browser of my iPad than Piazza

I tried clicking App Support to file a big report, but that only takes me to the this app website, which is not the purpose of that button, so I’m forced to file a bug report as a bad review. :(

About 1/3 of the time when I answer a student question or add a follow up comment on iOS, when I click the check mark to submit the answer or follow up, the iOS app now kicks me back to login and forces me to enter my password again, completely erasing the answer text I entered in the process. This is a NEW problem and makes Piazza incredibly unreliable. Please fix it.

this app is a fantastic resource in all of my classes, but I have been disappointed by the mobile app. Instructor answers to follow up questions are not highlighted, the editor for creating a new question/ responding to a question is very clunky and lacks nearly all of the formatting options provided on desktop, and the overarching interface feels more like a half-baked mobile website than a dedicated app. Really hoping this is updated and improved at some point.

Not flashy at all, but the functionality is perfect and it makes my life SO MUCH EASIER. Now I can actually stay up to date with posts and not have to surf through hundreds of posts when an assignment is due.
Truly magnificent for productivity. Wish I could do more than give 5 stars.

I have been using this app for my school for one semester in my laptop and it worked wonders. I tried to make my life a bit easier by getting Piazza and be able to keep up with all the posts, but I’m not able to add my school and whenever I look for my school and click it name I get an error message. Please Fix ASAP. I will try to update my phone and see if it is my softwares that is not updated but please look into this.

I’m a student and I usually don’t use this app mobile. Part of the reason is the interface was very ugly, navigation is very confusing. Recently this app updated their mobile app and UI looks slightly better. They still need major changes for their UI designed.

Still an good app considering it’s free.

It’s fine for most simple tasks but I frequently find that it doesn’t load random thread responses. There’s just empty space. It’s especially bad if the thread gets very long ... which all of ours seem to. This gets really frustrating as you have to try and reload the thread again and then it happens somewhere farther down. Downright a pain :(

Piazza works, but it has a long way to go. For one, I can’t print PDF files attached to posts. Instead, I have to long-press and copy the link in order to paste in Safari and print from there. This is unnecessarily complicated – just about every other app lets you print files as long as they can open.

Piazza is horrendous. One example for you guys to check out if anyone reads these reviews is the case where the must reads and pinned items are quite long. Piazza won’t load any other sections of messages and upon collapse Piazza just shows pins, must reads, and today repeating dozens of times.

I used to really like this app until I took a class where we just used an email list serve. It’s so much easier to just read conversations in your email app, and it makes them easier to archive and organize as well.

this app is a valuable tool for many classes but Piazza is crashing very frequently with iOS 13. Specifically, Piazza crashes when composing a response to a question and then does not save the draft of the response so one has to start over. This is very inconvenient.

Generally works fine. One really annoying thing though, which I noticed recently, is that I can not paste in the application, which is really frustrating when trying to send links.

Piazza does pretty well but the desktop is still better. The most annoying thing is that pasting urls or just plain text is broken, making Piazza useless. Please fix this!

This has always been a mediocre-to-bad app, but two or three updates ago the thing started exiting without saving responses I’d make to student questions. I’m sure there’s a pattern but it seems mostly random to me.

This is frustrating and one more reason why I might just use discourse for my classes in the future.

There needs to be an easy way to generate a link to a comment thread from within Piazza . To refer someone else to a this app thread outside of this app, I have to use my computer and copy the URL.

The website always works. Piazza seems like a 1 in 10 that all the messages in a thread will display. That is the fundamental feature of Piazza and it doesn’t work well.

The button to switch accounts on the iPad air 2 causes Piazza to crash

I use the website for my classes and like about 75% of it there. I downloaded Piazza on my iPad Pro. Piazza wouldn’t even allow me to type text into an answer box for a question. Keyboard pops up, I type and type but no cursor, no text. Need to hire out Piazza development folks.

It’s sad when this app is suggested by schools, but the iPhone app is trash. I am in the middle of posting a response or a question and Piazza 4/5 times crashes. Terrible app from a team that doesn’t seem invested to work on the bugs. 1/5 is too high a rating.

Do not recommend for any type of class as it not straightforward and is looking to overload you with information, most of which you don’t want to be bothered with.

Signs me out randomly. When I enter the correct password, it says “no internet connection”
Please keep me signed in!!!

Piazza is great and works wonderfully on my phone, but it needs dark mode.
