Virtual City Playground Reviews

Was fun to play but there came a point where VirtualCityPlayground stopped working. I had created an account and then problems started to arise. I have deleted and re-downloaded VirtualCityPlayground and now it’s won’t even start! This is aggravating given that I was an idiot and spent money for diamonds to build out the city and now everything that I did is no longer accessible!


UPDATE:At the reinstalling VirtualCityPlayground , it is crashing on both my Mac and this phone. It does not load. I don’t understand this. Reinstalling an app should fix it, not make it worse!!!!!

Fun up until you have to buy diamonds with actual human money to continue. Can't do anything anymore unless I pay for expansions. Awful and disappointing. I am entirely willing to spend money on a good game, but I am not willing to continuously funnel money into a game because of you made the most important currency too difficult to obtain. I hate that the rewards are tied to Facebook. I will never post a game to Facebook because I try my best not to be an irritating grandma on social media. Get it together and let me know and when you can pay up front for more features, or when you remove the pay wall that makes your game go from super fun to being stuck indefinitely within a day or two of play.

Very fun but slow to load. Also hard to expand your city if you don't want to buy investment points. I'd rather just buy the game!

Changing my review from 3 to 1star....waited 7 mins for game to load!!!! Not worth it. I have boatloads of money I can't do anything with because i don't have 8 investment points to buy another expansion!! Loaded it last night after not playing for 3 hrs and still only had 18 energy. Deleting this game.

If you are reading reviews, know that they give you points for reviewing it early in, so most of these reviews are written before you get far into the game and these loading issues happen as well as the discrepancy between earning and using investment points.

This game isn’t even a joke, it’s actively mocking me, the developers, and anyone who comes across it.

I’m not a huge fan of idle games, but I’ll play and enjoy (and even spend money on) good ones. This is not one of those games. It’s unbelievably slow and tedious from the very start. At least most games of this nature will start off fun to hook you, but this game lets you know from the start that you’re gonna need to pay reeeeeaaally well to do anything.

The original Virtual City was great, I absolutely loved it. And you take it down? For what? This game? This boring, money grubbing, run-of-the-mill idle game???? Disgusting. Pathetic. I would paid decent money upfront for the original, and that just makes this game even more loathful.

So, like most these games this game's business model is making their customers pay to make things go faster. Especially the energy. Not it has this thing called fire, which happens all the time, playing or idol. So you come back an hour or so later, and half your city needs repairs, which drains all your energy so you can't actually improve your city. And, best of all, then you might be tempted to use the roulette wheel to gain some extra energy... don't be fooled, your city will also ignite while you're out there watching the video.

I used to really enjoy this game. But there are many issues with it:
1. Not optimized for full-screen iPhones. I have the 11 Pro, and there are half-inch borders on either side of the screen. It looks like the developers simply did not care to make this game enjoyable on the new device.
2. Excruciating load time!! When I had the 8+, I thought the game loaded slow, but thought it would be better with a newer device nope. Still takes at least three ministers for this game to load.
3. Gameplay. The later objectives are impossible to reach because doing so required in-game purchases, and there is no way around that for a number of tasks. Meaning, you wind up in a dead-end game, unable to expand (which costs diamonds which you have to buy with real money), and likewise unable to complete the tasks. It even costs diamonds (again, real money) if you want to destroy a building you previously purchased!
4. Redundancy. Sooner or later, you’ll end up just watching traffic and the looking at the recycling plant. It gets real boring real fast.
5. Developer abandonment. This is probably the worse thing. The devs are unresponsive to my emails, and this game is definitely hasn’t been update in at least two years. With all of this, I guess it’s time for me to abandon VirtualCityPlayground as well. Too bad.

This game is not like the other games. It not fun like other ones. This one is about you spending money. The blue gems you use cost too much . everything you want to do you need the blue gem . I watched video after video when I finally got to the last video the game stopped working. When the game came back it brought me back to the first video. I was a fan of the old virtual city playground games , I thought this would be more exciting. This game was made to make money. I prefer to buy the game then keep buying the gem .

I’ve had this in the past, and gave it another shot, and currently it’s cool, but there is a limit of how much you can do in a hour, and the fact that in order to expand your city, you have to use a lot of diamonds, and even then there are obstacles like hills that you have to spend even more diamonds which makes it feel like a pay to progress kinda game.

Over the course of 5 years I’ve been obsessed with the game spend nearly $500 plus on my first city. I was young and foolish. Unfortunately a encountered a game breaking issue that froze my screen once I got to a certain point.
I was devastated thought it was my phone but it wasn’t this game just isn’t cleaned up file wise. I’m back once again to see that five years have gone by and I see no updates to fix the gem crisis, loading bugs, or even quality of life updates. This was and will always be my all time favorite game. I just wish they would let us know if the game is even being worked on at this point.

It's a fun game probably one of the best building games out there honestly, but the game itself requires you to actually spend money in order to move forward with your city. You either pay for gems to get expansions or you have to go through a tedious process of watching 10 ads every 11 minutes. Those 10 ads only add up to one gem. Progress and growth become stagnated. The game is no longer fun after the first day.

This game is great but when I watch 10 ads and get only ONE diamond is bad. For ten ads we should get about ten or five diamonds plus the ad doesn’t load most of the time so I have to exit out of the game and go back in and it might work. Also, with all the transportation vehicles I was surprised not to see a train and a station. Also, I would like to see states and highways as well. This can be done and if it is this game will become better.

I used to play this game all the time on my phone and loved it, but now it crashes on the loading screen when I open it. I’ve tried everything and it just won’t run. I would even start over if I could but can’t figure out how to reset or unlink my account.

Update: got the game to start working again.

Love it. It's fun an addicting I would suggest lowering the time to have energy so you can get more energy faster or lower how much energy it costs to do some of the things. I do like that unlike some other games it doesn't take hours to build something. Also maybe a few more quests to make more diamonds instead of always having to buy them cause wanting to build expansions is hard without diamonds or even lower how many diamonds needed and raise how much money is needed for expansions

I downloaded this game because I was also playing G5 supermarket mania and I got addicted as this is not your average building the city kinda game. For this one you have to make sure everything is interconnecting and working fine so it got my brain worked up. For gems you can either buy or cleverly finish some quests to earn it but it’s do-able like that to level up.

It's a really cool game, but I wish you didn't have to wait so long for energy because everything in the game costs energy. I like how the game gives you opportunities to gain extra energy and diamonds, but it's a little stingy when it grants you them😂. I did, however, just start playing today, so I guess I'll see how it goes from beyond today.

Overall, it is really fun and it reminds me of Rollercoaster Tycoon, but you're building a city.

Love this game and I’ve been playing for years. I wish the energy recharged faster or things would be built in time and you could use energy on it if you wanted. Also some of the prices of things are outrageous and you have to spend actual money to really build past a certain point which defeats the whole point in playing the game

Love this game it’s a great way to kill time I would love to play the game more but you need to many diamonds. But really please tell me why should you need diamonds to get more space I mean really. I realize that they have the game this way most likely to make money because it’s so hard to get diamonds for free so they force you to buy diamonds that’s the only way you can really play the game. And I think that’s a shame because not for the diamonds this game would get a 5 star rating no question!!!

So first the cons. One pls add some kind of daily diamonds get or something the diamond collecting is so annoying and I made 3M dollars just bye getting five grain farms and grain sellers
Second goods. It’s the best thing in the game! It’s creativity! it’s potential!! is so big!! and yea the best thing about it is the system the cars no game I played had that car system. So great game over all. The recommendations are for me and other people they should add a bigger map better graphics and a new virtual city of to!

This was the first ever virtual town building game I played. I fell in love. I’m really into the task & was to get extra diamonds. It would be like really super if the game was updated to have a better experience on my iPad. The draw back is the game will not go full screen 😒 and zoom doesn’t help 🤦🏾‍♀️ not at all. I have to use a magno to increase size to read instructions & see the visual art. The game is grt and addictive - please update to meet IOS SPECIFICATIONS. also a virtual 2-5 would be even better!!!

Add the titanc and give us like 8 gems everyday and make the camera look around the hole wide world and the gems is a issue to me I like it but low the gems okay I really want the sisters ship on the game and make it cost 2M dollars and the game keep it up but plz do it i really want to see more stuff and I hate how the price goes up and make a NASCAR track and that is all.
