ConjuVerb - Spanish Verbs! Reviews

I originally wrote a review and gave it three stars. You can see it below. The more I use it, however, the more I see flaws. For example, look up, "tomar". That means "to take" or "drink", but it only mentions drink. Next, look up the imperfect subjunctive of that word. That generally refers to events that happened in the past, but ConjuVerb refers to it in the present tense. And since my last writing, the database doesn't appear to have been updated, again not even containing 2,000 words. That's great for the first month of learning a language. But even for trading purposes, one needs to know at least 3,000 of the most common words. Why on earth ConjuVerb doesn't have more words and doesn't at least provide a way for users to do so is beyond me.

ConjuVerb is great. It's the first one I've seen that actually tells me what the future indicative actually means by putting a little "I will fall" for root verb "caer". It's great. So what's the issue?

It only has a few words in it's database (I believe about 1,600). Needless to say, this is not nearly enough and when you put a root word in (I tried "rodar") and nothing gets returned, you're forced to look it up someplace else, like before I had ConjuVerb .

Also, if there are no results it's should say, "no results". Hopefully the developer will allow users to add words to make ConjuVerb better.

ConjuVerb is so wonderful. I always have it open in the background when I’m studying Spanish. I’ve been using it for years. I just updated to the new version and I’m getting used to it.

One suggestion. It would be more useful to have the imperfect on the same line as the preterite and the imperative, gerund, and participle to the spot after the future tense (before all the rarely used verb forms)

I used and enjoyed the old version of ConjuVerb to reinforce my Spanish conjugation mastery. Sadly, when it was updated they really did a face plant. Now, in my opinion, it’s pretty much worthless. I always want to view flashcards English first, so I can translate to Spanish and use the word in a sentence. The previous version allowed one to see either English or Spanish first, along with the parameters for the conjugation, e.g. “you, singular, familiar; Mood, subjunctive; Tense, present”.

That seems not to exist anymore in ConjuVerb . Now, that info is only on the Spanish side of the flashcard, which makes them useless for me. I guess it’s time to delete it and move on.

I have been using ConjuVerb for several years. I have found it to be incredibly useful. It may not have “every” spanish verb but it is not intended to function as a translator. It is a conjugator and it does the job very well. If there is a new verb and it is not on ConjuVerb you will likely conjugate it correctly based on the form of the verb after practicing with ConjuVerb. For really getting good at conjugation ConjuVerb is awesome.

It is fantastic for looking up the conjugated forms of verbs and giving you the meaning of that exact tense - makes it ideal for reading.
So many dictionaries conjugate but do not give the translations for each of the tenses leaving you to "figure it out" increasing your cognitive load and slowing down your learning.
This is fantastic because you get the translation you need right away and you can go back to learning.

I think ConjuVerb is tremendously helpful in learning new verbs in their conjugations. This has been so helpful to me. But what I would like ConjuVerb to do, is to add speech to it. It is helpful when I can hear the pronunciation of the verb and its conjugations. Otherwise, ConjuVerb is wonderful. I am a beginner who is learning Spanish and I think this will be one of my best tools to help me in my learning.

ConjuVerb has exactly what I have been looking for: to be able to look up verbs conjugated form and see the root form, along with translated versions of what the different conjugations mean. Now I don't have to try to remember what the "conditional perfect" or other linguistic mumbo jumbo means - I can just see that it means "would have gone." THANK YOU. I would GLADLY pay for ConjuVerb.

Only been using this for a few hours and I'm no longer having major problems with preterite irregular verbs. Loaded about 50 into a special list and drilled. They're almost becoming second nature.
Starting now with the top 75 list for present subjunctive. I wish I had found ConjuVerb months ago, it's that helpful!!

Congrats, you've found the best spanish verb flash card app ever written.

ConjuVerb is so good that if it had boobs i would leave my wife for it.

I have tried many flash card sites and apps so far. This is hands-down the slickest yet. You can: toggle any or all tenses and moods; use their giant verb list or make your own multiple lists, switch from eng-to-span or span-to-eng, look up the complete conjugation of any verb, and even change the cards' visual themes.

It is aesthetically solid, very professionally done, and super inexpensive (with no IAP's!)

ConjuVerb is great, and its precisely what I needed at this stage of my studying. Quickly look up the verb and see all the conjugations in a clean display. Also creating lists and viewing your history are just a bonus. Much thanks and kudos to the developers of this handy tool! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I like that it tells you in English, like "I went" versus some that just have the title Preterite, which you may not know and have to figure out what that type of conjugation means. Just is easier that each tense is noted in English as well.

I like ConjuVerb a lot. It has already helped me some, and I think it is going to help a lot more.

Here are the only changes I would make: I wish there were some way to know when you've seen all the cards in the deck you're working on. I don't mind that they repeat - that's actually good. But I do wish I could know when I've been through the whole deck.

I also wish there were a way to flag ones you want to focus on and the ones you don't need to see again right now.

Just some thoughts...but if you need to drill verbs, ConjuVerb will help you do that. Two thumbs up!

The latest update isn’t working for me. When I tap on a verb ConjuVerb crashes. Actually, whenever, I tap on anything to get more information it crashes. Please fix this is one of the BEST Spanish apps out there!!!!! Kenny B

This is great. I finally have a way to practice conjugation that's quick easy and can be done anywhere. But I wish it had pronunciations

Not a single feature missing that i would want. Dont see myself uninstalling ConjuVerb ever. Literal perfection.

My Spanish teacher advised me to buy ConjuVerb so that I would be able to keep track of the many tenses that I had learned. ConjuVerb did not help me much with the task at hand. It's not very intuitive, and it did not expand my knowledge. A better interface would make ConjuVerb more worth the money. I would give 3 stars if ConjuVerb was free and had not just taken my money.

I'm serious about learning Spanish. I've been 10 weeks in Nicaragua studying. This is the best of many programs I've downloaded. Thanks!

ConjuVerb itself is great
Unfortunately I found out a couple mistakes and now I don't trust ConjuVerb anymore
So anytime I'm surprised by a conjugation I go check and lose time ( and fortunately almost always ConjuVerb is right )
For this kind of app I think that having the conjugation right at 100% is non negociable hence the poor rating

I often refer to ConjuVerb bc it is easy to navigate. Simple, efficient and amazing. I give 4 stars bc I sometimes come across verbs that are not available on here, and I find on word reference. Worth it for any beginning Spanish speaker....

After the last update ConjuVerb crashes if you try to do anything at all. Please fix this. Been using ConjuVerb for years now.
