Spanish Dictionary Reviews

This is the best app I’ve encountered for improving my Spanish. It’s bidirectional between the two languages and includes both slang and formal words. It’s very complete. It’s the only Spanish dictionary I use anymore.

My only complaint is that after purchasing there are still ads

SpanishDictionary is great for those of you who understand more English than Spanish. A lot of words are pronounced in SpanishDictionary but this only works when you have internet access. But you can still use SpanishDictionary without internet connection. It’s great definitely recommend!

I really like this dictionary. It has all the words, phrases, examples, etc. that I need to go through a Spanish book that I'm trying to read - the 400 year old amazing story of Don Quixote; one of the best stories ever written. And naturally, I wanted to read this in its original language after enjoying it in English. This dictionary has been helping immensely!
I also like the daily "word of the day" practice options this has, which helps me to continue to refresh and practice the Spanish words I searched for on a daily basis.

Is very handy to help in understanding another language and to have correct pronunciation couldn’t speak well without it. Thanks !!

I love SpanishDictionary. I downloaded the Spanish and Italian. I used it while traveling ant it always helped me to express myself and helped me with words I did not know. A great tool to have for traveling and for learning.

Probably the best foreign language to English dictionary I’ve used! I really like how it automatically searches for and displays the word that I have copied - no hitting the search icon, deleting the previous word, and pasting! I like that you can search for a conjugated verb, and it will automatically give you the infinitive and nouns or adjectives based on that verb. I really like the flash card function too. Things to improve: provide conjugation tables, and make the flash card portion of SpanishDictionary able to display either “side” of the card first.

As I'm learning new spanish words daily, I add them in a custom-made category, i.e. verbos, palabras de la comida, palabras del cuerpo, etc. over time I can go back and review to reinforce these words into my long term memory.

Before iPhones and tablets, I had several of those palm-size electronic translator/dictionaries that I found extremely useful but none of them came anywhere near to what SpanishDictionary does. Congratulations and thanks for developing this powerful tool.

Excellent translation app that is easy to navigate, free, and has 750K words and expressions. The expressions are helpful for understanding the context and meaning of words. A bonus is the ability to tap on words to view pop-up definitions for better understanding.

SpanishDictionary gives you access to several offline dictionaries, plus information online all on one well organized platform. Super excellent and easy to use. Thanks!

Need to update to make it compatible with Apple’s latest software release. Other than this issue, I like the application.

I have been learning Spanish and this is fantastic to figure out words AND phrases which are useful in speaking. I also love the conjugation section which is really helping me to improve my grammar. I use the word reminders too and this helps reinforce what I have looked up. Great app!

The good thing about this dictionary is the pronunciation segment and the weak point is the lack of pictures.

Great for looking up words easily, a lot of other services will simply give you one translation of a word however SpanishDictionary allows you to put words in the correct context and gives you multiple different verbs and nouns and phrases to ensure you are saying what you want to in context correct and also according to what region to Spanish dialect you are looking to speak from.

Okay, this is the first time in writing a review for any app. And trust me, I have had hundreds of apps. This application is extremely effective in helping with memorization with the frequent and random notifications. The definitions are thorough and really give you a detailed understanding of the vocabulary. It’s user friendly, effective, and overall, I am grateful I found. Thank you to the makers of SpanishDictionary!!!

This dictionary has everything! Meanings, voice pronunciations, for individual words and combinations ( e.g. launder (clothes) as well as launder (money), and grammar. You can enter your question/word in Spanish or English - it figures out which, unlike other dictionaries where first you indicate whether you are asking English to Spanish, or Spanish to English. And I have not yet run into a question/word it could not translate. I love it!

I’ve been using SpanishDictionary as a reference point as I work on improving my Spanish and it’s truly fantastic. It offers several different dictionaries for a given word (including the hard-to-find Spanish/Spanish), grasps different conjugations, and provides pronunciation. I haven’t even gone beyond basic use and already I’m in love. I’m definitely making SpanishDictionary central to my learning and development every step of the way!

I grew up learning Spanglish, first language English. Now that I have a child I need to practice more since where I live no one uses Spanish. So I am teaching her and when I get stuck I can look up words. This is an awesome app. Thank you soo much I love that you can look up in both languages and that it also says the word because that’s sometimes where I get stuck. Hopefully my daughter will be bilingual or at least can understand both.

Have been using Dictionary Box for a few weeks now and find it easy to use and quite efficient. No having to switch back and forth between the two languages before entering a word because SpanishDictionary automatically detects the language and translates accordingly. Word results include definitions in both languages, as well as links to other dictionaries and sources for further research. All this offline and for free! Curious to check out the premium upgrade, but highly satisfied with the basic version. Kudos!
