Unique and fun, from someone striving to be fluent

It is a goal of mine to be conversationally fluent in Spanish. I work every week with a tutor and she says that I should listen to songs in Spanish and pay attention to the grammar, the vocabulary, stuff like that to make myself more culturally aware while practicing Spanish. But honestly, it’s a lot of work to find songs, listen to them, and analyze them like that.

LiricaLearnSpanishGerman is an awesome way for me to do that kind of practice in a super accessible format. It’s a fantastic idea, a really unique app, and a great avenue for getting deeper in spanish learning. My listening comprehension is improving, I’m picking up common vocabulary used in popular Spanish music, and I’m practicing grammar all at the same time.

I wouldn’t recommend it for a total beginner in spanish learning, but give it a shot no matter what level you’re at. If anything, it will introduce you to a host of fun and popular Spanish songs.

Musical Autopsy

It’s nice to have an app that dissects a song text by text, music is often played in the background without much attention but LiricaLearnSpanishGerman allows to dissect vocabulary and acquire the local phrases. I commend that and I really hope they initiate the French language too because there are a plethora of songs that are similar to Latin hip hop and French is an important language to study . I purchased the lifetime subscription and I believe it is for the greater good in order to install additional songs in different languages.

Would be perfect if UI was and features were improved

Engaging way to learn a language such music is so engaging and it’s fun to develop the ability to follow and understand songs. It’s useful for learning lyrics and getting a feel for language structure and vocab. However, there are a few major flaws.

1. You can’t watch full videos “Learn” tap, nor search for songs in the “Play” tab. This makes watching the full video and lyrics for a song you’re learning tedious to find since you need to scroll through the entire collection to find it.

2. There are useful tips and phrases in the learn modules that pop up as cards, but they cannot be retrieved afterwards. Once you see a tip, there should be a central repository of these useful phrases similar to that implemented for vocabulary. As it is there’s really no good way to review past material.

3. You can navigate back within a lesson to review a tip/pronunciation/anything. This should be possible as it’s easy to answer a question and want to review true concept before closing the lesson.

Despite it’s flaws I am subscribing to LiricaLearnSpanishGerman to support the team and idea, but I wouldn’t recommend it to others until the above feature are implemented. I’ll update this review and rating if/when these basic features are implemented

I love this so much

The format is great. First you watch the video with the lyrics listed below. Then you go line by line through the song and LiricaLearnSpanishGerman asks you questions related to the meaning of the words. Then you get challenged as the song plays, having to answer questions about the songs as you listen. I am slowly learning Spanish!
I wish there were more dance songs and fewer ballads. The words seem to stick better with a dance tune.
How about some reggaeton? Some bad bunny? I would love that.
I pair this with Duolingo and I am slowly picking it up.

Floored!!

I have a passion for music so LiricaLearnSpanishGerman makes learning spanish so much fun and easy. I already have a good understanding of the language and I just want to learn more vocab and what better way to do that than with songs. All of the music choices are so refreshing. LiricaLearnSpanishGerman is VERY user friendly and the design is pleasing to the eyes. I was apprehensive about downloading LiricaLearnSpanishGerman due to my experience with similar apps in the past, but LiricaLearnSpanishGerman will definitely be worth your while!!

This app is already amazing but has to get better!

I love LiricaLearnSpanishGerman so much. It’s such a fun way to study and learn a language, by listening to music. The games and structure for learning and practicing is excellent. My only complaint is that there aren’t many songs, and it doesn’t seem like new songs get added? This is my first paid month and if there are or were regularly new songs added each month, I would continue til forever! But without new songs I will probably cancel at the end of this month.

Thank you for developing this awesome app! Please keep growing it!

It needs improvement

I'm a music lover, but I didn't enjoy LiricaLearnSpanishGerman as much as I thought. The intro part both Spanish and English is too fast for a learner. The texts have mistakes. You can't choose a slow song, and you have to struggle with the ones available as first options because they are too fast. I couldn't see the translation for the complete song, and I couldn't understand what it was saying. Frustrating! The membership is not expensive if you pay for the whole year, but I think is not worth it. In addition, I want to learn English from the USA and Spanish from Latin America, not from Great Britain and Spain 😩.

I love this App.

I have completed all the songs in Spanish. Please add some new Spanish songs Lyrica!

I am working on German songs now which is hard since I know no German yet. This is how I plan to learn some.

I would love lots more languages, even a few introductory songs in Korean, French, Portugués, and more! More exposure to different cultures, songs and stars.

Ok app, non-existent customer support

*No reply to 3 emails regarding a promotion in which existing customers needed to provide email/name to get the reduced lifetime upgrade fee of $15. I wouldn’t hold out for any response regarding problems with LiricaLearnSpanishGerman .

The pricing model makes it near impossible to recommend for my ES —> ENG students. It’s a shame because modern SLA research points towards an app like this being beneficial for procedural language acquisition.

LiricaLearnSpanishGerman itself is a nice concept, but often the songs lag a little, lyrics don’t match the song segment, etc. Song selection isn’t good unless you like music from Spain or reggaetón/pop from Latin America. (Can’t comment on the English language songs.) Not a lot of content was added while I was using it. I suppose I was hoping for older cumbias and more Mexican music.

At $50 lifetime access, it’s probably worth. I see no point in renewing at the regular price as new content is not added frequently.

Work in progress but awesome nonetheless

I saw LiricaLearnSpanishGerman on Reddit through a devs post and decided to check it out and it gets the job done for sure. I'll have to use it more but so far it is helping with comprehension and overall listening skills as well as expanding my vocabulary and I can't wait for more songs to be added to learn to sing along to

New User and Loving It!

I am just starting with LiricaLearnSpanishGerman today but LOVING it so far! I had always learned from songs on Spanish by going through the lyrics myself and taking notes. This does the same thing but with explanation, various types of practices, and enough repetition of small parts (made interesting). Plus, I am loving the music choices so far!

Brilliant App

Music is a great way for me to learn. Having the lyrics broken down is one thing, and it’s enough for LiricaLearnSpanishGerman to be worthy of a download on its own. But this all goes a step further and breaks down the grammar AND the cultural context surrounding each line.

I couldn’t have asked for more, as a beginner to Spanish.

Great concept

I’ve always used music to help with language learning and it’s always helped so much. I used to print the lyrics and translate them that way and now I can actually use my phone to do this.
I would love to see more songs of different genres added. I’ll add more as I think of it but again, great app.

Great app!

So far I love LiricaLearnSpanishGerman but can you please have it to where when we click the words in green it plays just that part along with showing the English translation? I think it would be helpful so we don't have to keep repeating the whole thing over and over again for just one phrase we don't understand.

I love this app! Thank you

I love Spanish music, but never know what anyone is saying and I have tried for years to pick up the language. LiricaLearnSpanishGerman combines both my passion for the music and love of the language. Thank you so much you guys did an amazing job, and this is so much fun!

I’m So Engaged

I like LiricaLearnSpanishGerman because the music really keeps me engaged. And the repetition helps me commit the words to memory. I now even more so want to listen to these songs outside of using LiricaLearnSpanishGerman to test myself for fun with a sing-a-long (and with understanding).

Great app!

This is not simply an app to learn vocabulary, although the ways vocab is taught are varied and clever. LiricaLearnSpanishGerman also includes grammar lessons with tips & hints to master irregular verb conjugation. I certainly hope the song selection continues to grow over time.

It would be amazing to expand to other languages, as well. What a great way to introduce English-speakers to another language & cultures through music!

By

This is actually great

This makes learning super fun, while also getting to know some classic Latin hits. The lessons are pretty helpful, but the fun part is going along with the songs. I still have quite a few songs to work through, hoping for more to come out!

So happy i found this app!!!

LiricaLearnSpanishGerman is extremely helpful in learning Spanish. I hope the free version will go far than just a couple songs. I have only listened to two songs so far but I really love it!!

Exactly what I wanted.

I was studying Spanish and thought how nice it would be to learn the language by learning songs. Then I saw LiricaLearnSpanishGerman, tried it, and within the first few minutes I said out loud, “I would pay for this!”

Lirica

Honestly so helpful! It dose ya the song line by line and learning it musically makes it easier to remember. It’s fun because you don’t have to go through all of the boring grammar lessons like you would in a class. Highly recommend!

Awesome Way To Learn Spanish!

This is an incredible app. It’s the perfect way to learn Spanish because it keeps everything fun and entertaining. The fact that it’s using great music really helps me remember word order and vocabulary.

By

Best app for intermediate Spanish

I honestly love LiricaLearnSpanishGerman so mush!! I’m at the point with my language learning where I need more vocabulary and pronunciation. LiricaLearnSpanishGerman is perfect for that and I get to learn all the new songs that are coming out too!

By

Good app but want new songs

I think LiricaLearnSpanishGerman is a fun way to learn more Spanish. However I am not seeing new songs each week although the details promise this with the monthly subscription...not sure if there’s an error on my end

By

So fun and easy

I teach English as a Foreign language. I have learned other languages before through study and immersion but this is the best! I love the music and I am so happy while listening!
