My Review

I use SpanishDictionary quite often however there is an issue of accuracy. I am almost fluent in the Spanish language so it does come in handy however you have to verify & guess or utilize other apps etc to ensure a great result.

Spanish dictionary for iPad

This dictionary is amazing in its coverage of Spanish vocabulary. It’s chief downfall is the lack of gender identification for nouns. Another problem is that you must look up Spanish words using letters with the correct accent mark. For example, if you enter “aguila” it cannot find the English equivalent; you must enter “águila” (Eagle).

Like app. Can’t get the sound for pronunciation to work. Would rate app higher if corrected.

Since I found out how to get the sound to Play on my phone I am very very satisfied with SpanishDictionary. I love the fact that the words are sounded out.

Castelian

I like the interface but some of the translations are NOT Castilian Spanish. Other than that I check SpanishDictionary everyday to help keep my language skills alive.

Good Spanish Dictionary

I find the dictionary very helpful and better than the others I have tried. There are only a few words I have looked up and not found in it.

Worked great for a month!

Worked great for a month! Now it's saying all the features are only available if you upgrade which from what I've read is only temporary and then you are required to pay more money! I'll be deleting SpanishDictionary and opting for a free or low cost alternative.

I love it . It's very handy

Pretty good

Good, but needs gender on nouns. I wish there was an example of how a given word is used.

An app gone terribly wrong

UPDATE:
The 19.1 update seems to have fixed all the problems I noted below. Thank you. The interface now presents information in the same compact and useful way. It is more information dense than is currently fashionable, but that density is essential for the serious user. Moreover, I want to commend the developers for their rapid response to my concerns. First rate. I have no hesitation in revising my rating from 1 to 5 stars.

-------------------------------------------------------

I have been using SpanishDictionary for a long time and found it very useful. The latest release makes it totally useless and not worth the money I paid for the upgrade. It is not almost impossible to find the detailed discussion of words and the conjugations of verbs in this version, i am deleting with sorrow.

Update. I just re-downloaded SpanishDictionary , there does not appear to be anything the developer mentioned in his response, moreover it will not restore my previous purchase of the pro version, now I am even more dissatisfied. This approach to update an improvement does not seem to work. I wish I could remove the single star I have already given SpanishDictionary. It makes me sad, I have used SpanishDictionary daily for the last year and I have not found an adequate replacement. Moreover the add encrusted non-pro version is particularly annoying.

A mi me gusta la aplicación

I really love SpanishDictionary, I love finding out the word of the day every morning, even though usually I already know the word. I love the games that you can play and I am mostly Hooked on them. You can battle with friends but it doesn't work. You can type a word in English and find out what it means, you just have to BUY the specific translator, and also it would be amazing if there would only Be ONE word of the day, because it always changes for some reason... It's "word of the day" not "words of the day"

Mostly good app , but vague at times.

It's a good dictionary app. However, some of the words have many translations and are too vague at times. For example, what's the correct term for the word "bright"? "¿Brillante" o luminoso?" Also, sometimes verbs and nouns tend to be missing for certain words. It's also hard to tell which countries use certain words if your trying to speak with a certain accent. I also can't help but feel bummed out knowing that you have to pay for the games and audio. There's even a feature where you can take a picture of a word in Spanish and it will translate it. Yet, you still have to pay, as with almost all the features. With that being said, it's a pretty good app, I just hope it keeps improving.
