Poor: tech support; iPad pro keyboard support; audio controls

First, expect no tech support. No support boards, little documentation, no way to engage with other users. Worst experience in years with a product from this perspective. No discernible way to use function keys from the Apple keyboard for iPad Pro. The "manual" included (only accessible from launch screen, not during a session and not online) is for a Mac. They didn't bother spending an hour updating for iOS. I bought this for the remote audio recording capability which would (if properly implemented) be fantastic for Skype meetings off of my desktop at the office. No way to use AirPods or any other bluetooth headset. Only speaker and mic in the iPad. Going back to Jump Desktop which is marvelous and only lacks the recording feature.

Oh, and it does sometimes work with the Swiftpoint GT which is an awesome product, but it does not work as consistently as Jump Desktop.

Easy to setup and use, but with some odd bugs

The software is surprisingly easy to setup and use. I love the simple remote access with reporting back on the status of the devices. Two things that I would like to see work better:

1. When you configured groups in the cloud (HUB) and then open RemotixVNCRDPNEAR , the work done in the hub is overwritten by the iPad and sometimes the computer with Remotix installed on it. You don’t loose the computer, but loosing time you spent organizing is frustrating.

2. I would like to see how you configure a “Team ID” vs using a shared HUB account between technicians. I know you can add a user to the agent, but do you really want to add an admin to several agents when a new tech is hired?

Great tech support—always fast fixes to issues

I’ve used this for years and it’s always been the snappiest client for my connections to my Mac and Linux boxes at work. It’s great to now use external mice with it as well. Most importantly, over the years I’ve rapidly encountered small bugs when major iOS updates happen and the folks working on Remotix have always responded to my inquiries very quickly, pushing out software updates that rapidly address any problems.

Sloooooooooooow with VNC but supports Citrix X1 mouse

Title says it all. I bought this primarily to use against a Linux server backend running VNC. I have RealVNC also, silky smooth. Like butter; however unlike this it does not support the Citrix X1 mouse so I thought I would give this a try. This is unbearably slow. The cursor jumps all over the place making selecting anything extremely difficult. Selecting anything and then waiting for a screen redraw has serious lag. This is going over a hardwired connection or wireless.

The ONLY reason I’m not giving this a 1 star is the fact it supports the Citrix mouse. Few companies do and they get props for going above and beyond for doing that, it’s just too bad that it couldn’t have been packaged into something I could actually use.

Best yet

I’ve used several remote access products over the years, always to get back to a dual screen desktop system, and mostly from a large screen laptop. The transition to trying to access that desktop from an iPad took me through several apps prior to this one. Remotix has obviously put a lot of thought into the issues that arise in a situation like this, and their solutions are intuitive, natural, and effective. Well worth the investment.

Well worth it.

Like others, I was hesitant to spend the money for an iOS app. The biggest benefit for me was ssh port forwarding for RDP built right into RemotixVNCRDPNEAR . I used to use one app for ssh and one app for RDP, but the background app would close the tunnel every 15 minutes due to background app restrictions in iOS. No longer a problem with RemotixVNCRDPNEAR. Also, the mouse control via the touch screen is (in my opinion) the best of all the iOS RDP apps I've tried. Thanks Remotix!

Does what you want when you need it

I use RemotixVNCRDPNEAR only about once a month – but when I need it, nothing else will do. It does exactly what I want in the way I want to do it, no more and no less. It gives me clear fine control over a big screen cursor from a tiny iPhone screen, and gets ancillary garbage like the keyboard well out-of-the-way when I'm not using it.

By far the best VNC client

I was a little apprehensive to spend $20 on an iOS app, but the reviews are spot on. This is an amazing VNC client and by far the best one available. I was a iTeleport fanboy for years but was curious what else was out there. Speed/response time is very important to me, and this thing flies, far faster than iTeleport, and has many more features. I am using VNC almost every day. RemotixVNCRDPNEAR is a no-brainer.

Holy sh** this is so worth millions!!!

I gladly paid out my share of $20 today for this. Was it worth it? YES! There's nothing like being able to go from home and view your computer screens, AND CONTROL THEM!

Lots of VNC or RDP apps: get it together, and meet Nulana's amazing 10 out of 10 "Remotix VNC & RDP for iOS!"

Gladly recommend, if you're looking into truly viewing and controlling a screen with a Mobile device.

Best screen sharing app I've found

Absolutely perfect screen sharing app. I only use it for logging into Macs over SSH+RemoteDesktop but it works beautifully. Most of the other screen sharing apps I've tried crash or have become unsupported, but Remotix has remained updated and super solid. Thanks to the developers to adding multitasking support!

The best I’ve tried

And I’ve tried a lot of apps and means to remotely connect. Remotix is by far superior to everything I’ve tried. I regularly connect with friends and relatives to help them resolve computer problems. With the free Remotix Agent on their computer I can effortlessly connect to and control their desktop.

Best RD Client yet!

I have tried many remote desktop clients that use the VNC protocol, this is the only one that is actually smooth. I can speak for many people that smoothness of a RD Client is a big factor on whether or not we may pay for it, and I have to say, the 15 dollars is worth it. The only complaint I have is that the scrolling seems to be a bit weird. Overall I love RemotixVNCRDPNEAR .

Fantastic VNC app

I almost can’t believe how good RemotixVNCRDPNEAR has become over the last year+. It handles the keyboard flawlessly, better than any other app I’ve used (including Blink), which is a real winning feature.

The only flaw is the pointer handling. It jumps back and forth between where I’m going and where I’ve been. Perhaps there is a setting to fix that, or it’s something particular to my setup. It’s annoying, but I can work with it.

All in all it allows me to comfortably use my iPad for software development on a remote PC.

Great job, developers!

So very close

A very capable Remote Desktop client. It has almost everything I need, except that it seems the SwiftPoint Mouse support seems a bit broken. I cannot get the application to send a middle mouse and hold event using the mouse... so if your hoping to use RemotixVNCRDPNEAR as a means for accesses remote CAD sessions as I do, you may be out of luck until this is fixed.

Glad I read the reviews...

Excellent app, I hardly rate but I am very happy with RemotixVNCRDPNEAR. Wish it had more mouse options but it works extremely well with the apple keyboard. I tried Microsoft's RDP rendition. But this one has more features and much smoother. Glad to have purchased it.

Worth Every Penny

By far the best remote app I have used since CoRD was sunset. Have used the agent on all three of the major OS platforms and each is easy and responsive. Allows me to access all my machines from anywhere with minimal headache.

Does what I need well and reliably

I’ve used lots of products through the year’s and I’ve settled on this one. It does what I need, it has excellent speed & stability, and it supports the SSH connections that I use.

iPhone X update

I use RemotixVNCRDPNEAR all the time to control servers and help support people on the go. It’s great and full of features. The latest update fixes the display on the iPhone X but now my cursor is clicking a few cm below from where I actually click/tap almost like the display shift affected the cursor as well.

The best VNC app I've ever used

Well worth the price. This is the best VNC app I've ever used. Polished. Fast screen updates. Very little lag.

Hands down the best UI for VNC on a touchscreen. The mouse controls work fantastically.

If you are looking for a VNC app that you'll enjoy using, don't hesitate...Buy RemotixVNCRDPNEAR!

Apple Keyboard Case no longer working

Hello Remotix devs, I am reporting the latest release broke the Apple Keyboard case functionality within your app. I have tested the Keyboard to make sure it is working (writing this review with it) and it does not work at all anymore within RemotixVNCRDPNEAR . Please fix the issue as soon as possible. I will edit my review once it is fixed.
