Horrible Customer Service

I would suggest NOT subscribing to JIMStoppani until they make updates that allow you to cancel. Only way to cancel is to can their phone number between 9-5 M-F, they are worse than banker’s hours. They, like many greedy business models, make you jump through hoops when you are done with the product. I found this a bit while cleaning out subscriptions I don’t really use any more.

App is basic there are a lot of free apps out there with the same information. The one thing they do well is in 50% of cases is providing instructional video for how to do an exercise. Unfortunately there is not a video for every exercise. The other draw back is every time I try to log in on JIMStoppani it takes me to the website. I login at the website, go back to JIMStoppani , and the login features are still not available on JIMStoppani . I get it websites are generally easier and more user friendly for a novice builder, but why have an app if it can’t support the basic functionality like signing in? just have a website so I don’t have to bounce between the 2.

Good app but needs to grow and adapt.

I’d easily give JIMStoppani 5 stars but it needs a little more. I feel it needs to be able to better track a persons progress thru whatever program you are doing. It also needs a timer. I hope you take some of this into consideration. It’d be nice to also track progress. Such as tracking weight gain/loss strength gain or loss. And also track progress on your exercises over time like over the course of whatever program you are doing or over the course of a month,6 month year ect. The Jim Stoppani programs are definitely worth the money, but making JIMStoppani better than the ones uou don’t have to pay for would be a huge game breaker.

Jim Stoppani really knows his stuff. The exercises are top notch. This would be a 5-star review based on content. That part is exceptional it’s the best. It gives many different ways to work your muscle groups. HOWEVER, JIMStoppani is unreliable. It crashes frequently. Some days, you can’t log in at all. Like today. Logging in on the website is not a reasonable alternative because logging sets there is a poor user experience at best. It’s not a user problem. Reinstalling JIMStoppani does not fix the issues. This is true for three different iOS devices with the updated OS version. Fix JIMStoppani . Make it work and refresh the structure and it will be perfect. Since JIMStoppani is barely working now, it’s not worth $15 a month. I imagine nobody will ever read this. On social media, they delete negative comments regarding JIMStoppani . Good luck. Do better!

Great plans, not a great app

I have followed Jim Stoppani for workout tips for a while, but just recently pulled the trigger on investing in plans and supplements. So far the plan and supplements have been great, but JIMStoppani is not at the same level. It is clunky to use, there are features on other apps that allow for better data tracking for weight lifted for each exercise and uses that data in effectively for future lifts. There also isn’t much in the way of customization of exercises. Not every gym has the equipment needed for each exercise, or has a limited amount of equipment so on busy days, some equipment may not be available, so alternatives to exercises would be extremely helpful. Finally, I have definitely experienced some bugginess in JIMStoppani . When I went to workout this morning I noticed JIMStoppani erased over a week worth of workouts. So the limited info for weight lifted was gone, and JIMStoppani wasn’t letting me consistently save new workouts. To summarize, programming is great, I have noticed big gains in just 5 weeks. Supplements (pre/post workout, plant based protein) is great, at least for me. But JIMStoppani needs some improvement to really become a top tier app/program

Great options, small tweaks

Overall can’t complain much. Only a few small tweaks I’d make. First, a short description of the overall workout before scheduling it, i.e. “For this workout you need to start sets at 70% of max and climb to 90% by the final set.” or something close to that. Second, once in the middle of a scheduled workout give more interactive interface with each exercise like if I add an extra set then the recommended amount I wish it’d show my changes, and maybe even a completed check mark once exercise is submitted. Like I said overall it’s a great app with a ton of workout options to chose from and I can’t really complain, but it feels like it hinders on the notion the user already has a moderate understanding of what they should be doing.

Does the job but could be better

Ive been using JIMStoppani and for the first month it did the job. The last few weeks it’s been randomly deleting sets and entire workouts. It also stopped loading any instructional pictures or videos. Some exercises don’t have pictures at all, and the description can only go so far. It’s been frustrating.

Beyond the loading and deleting issues, a few changes would make it more user friendly. I wish I could postpone a scheduled workout and shift my whole routine back rather than just have to log a workout as “missed” and move on to the next one. Also, it shows your latest sets and weight for a certain exercise, but if I’ve cycled back around to a high rep week, I’d rather see my weight from my last high rep week. Not my weight from last week when I did sets of 3 reps. It’s inconvenient having to back in the calendar to find the last time I did 20 reps of the same thing.

Could use some improvement

Program selection is an absolute disaster unless you know the name of the one you’re looking for. Honestly it was WAY easier to go to the website, use filters and such to look at options fitting my needs, and then go back and search for it in JIMStoppani to track.

Tracking itself is also mediocre- there’s no way (that I can see) to switch out exercises variations if, like me, you need to accommodate an injury.

Also I can’t tell that there’s any way to calculate one rep max or to track your progressions without just going back and looking.

I much prefer the “Strong” app for tracking and will probably end up manually importing Jim’s workouts into that app to track or possibly just using pen and paper where I can more clearly delineate things.

I also don’t like the way super sets are marked- they are not really easily distinguished so that sometimes I look at the exercises wrong and end up supersetting the wrong two exercises.

It would also be nice to more easily access program overviews, but again you can just go to the website if you need to.

Finally, importing your program into the calendar so you can begin tracking puts your program only on the days of the week you select- you can’t, for instance, move your rest days in case you to need to accommodate life events.

It’s just not really in line with the precise and detailed nature of Jim’s programs for JIMStoppani that is supposed to be used along with them to not be more streamlined than this one is.

With that said, I love how much knowledge Jim shares with his “army” and the exercise descriptions are nice for new users.

The price is also excellent for the number of full programs, knowledge, and exercise tracking! I’ve paid $10 per month for exercise tracking apps alone, and JIMStoppani is free with your subscription to his website for $14!

New member long time follower of Stoppani. First program I chose is SS8

JIMStoppani is not great as it has mis guided information and clunky to use. When you click on the workout and then click learn this and watch the video or look at the pictures, you can’t go directly back to your workout you have to go back to the main program screen then back to your specific set of workouts. The mis guided info for example; tells you to superset two workouts but list three in the set. There’s no clear guidance on what to do with the third exercise, so I did two as a superset and the third one separate. The last two corrections that I would make to JIMStoppani are as follows: 1) you have no idea of the weight you’re supposed to use. I suggest having workout #1 work up to a 1-3 rep max then work off of a % of that max for bench or whatever you’re doing. 2) there’s no set time for rest between sets or how long it should take you to complete your sets. Ex; two minutes to complete XYZ workout, two minute rest, repeat for completion of sets.

FYI, I am advanced in working out. I spent eight years total in the navy. I trained with Navy EOD and SEALs, as a Gunners Mate. I have been a gym member since 2003 I’m 6’00” tall 190lbs. I scuba dive and I’m very active. I say this to solidify my opinion of JIMStoppani.

Great app but a little frustrating

I love JIMStoppani and will definitely continue to use in the future. It would get 5 stars from me except for two things I find very frustrating in the middle of a workout. 1) You have to have a WiFi connection to keep the set results from disappearing in the middle of a workout. If you click on the Learn To Do function (which is a big help) you lose all data you’ve input. 2) If a workout has two different versions of the same workout ie. squats for weight then squats for Tabata it wipes the data and replaces with the most recent set. I don’t care how much I lifted heavy if I’m trying to save HIIT data. Please make it so that “squat” data doesn’t save on every “squat”. “Heavy squat” should only save data entry in other “heavy squat” fields. I’m currently doing the Super Shredded 8 plan and Number 2 happens a lot. Again, overall a great app but couple things that get to me when I’m sweating in the middle of a workout. HUGE thank you to Jim Stoppani for all the love you show military members.

Edit: in the last week JIMStoppani has twice dumped all data for the program I’ve been doing and the program itself. I don’t know if it’s a bug or what but the pictures in the Learn To Do function also take way longer to download than a simple picture should. Still a good app, but it could really use an update.

Love this app

I have used JIMStoppani off and on for years and love using it. My fitness journey tends to be like a roller coaster but I always find my way back to JIMStoppani. I have extreme gym anxiety and part of that stems from not knowing what muscle groups to work on or what to actually do in the gym. JIMStoppani takes away all the guess work for me so I can focus more on bettering myself.

The only reason i didn’t give 5 stars is because I personally would like to see workout regimens geared towards women. A majority of the programs I’ve looked at focus heavily on chest/back/upper body. That’s great and important for balance, but for me and my goals, I need more leg/glute focused workouts. I’m not confident in my own knowledge and abilities to build a workout based the individual exercises alone.

I also greatly appreciate the love and support given to military members!!

Overall Amazing App

Great app. I truly love Stoppani purely based off his scientific approach to body building and nutrition. It’s easy to trust a guy who is shredded and has a Phd in muscle physiology. JIMStoppani is where I lose the star. Now, it has a plethora of information ranging from articles on proper bench press form to complex diets like IFCC. The only issue is that some of the workouts don’t have explanations or pics on JIMStoppani . I also wish that you could change the days you workout after you set your schedule. It would allow for more flexibility with working out if you were to miss a day. I also wish it had an algorithm, like other apps, to calculate your weights for you. I’m doing the Project x plan and my rep range is 30 and next week it’s 15 and then 8 the week after. Some of the plans only allow for 60 sec break and I dont have time to calculate but I’m lazy! Seriously, I’m just picking and JIMStoppani is awesome. Just a few features I wish it had. I’ve had JIMStoppani for a year now and don’t plan on not using it ever.

Best workout program

JIMStoppani is great for workout plans. I have tried numerous plans and have felt all other were lacking. I had been using JYM supplements for years and then finally decided to try out the workout plans.

Of all of the Jim Stoppani stuff, the only stuff i feel is not top tier quality are the diet plans. They work, but they aren’t great. The format of the diet plans could be done way better. If they diet plans were structured similar to the exercise tracker, that would be amazing. That way you could “Complete” meals just like work outs. And you could have a calorie counter just like the “Weights Lifted” counter.

Although i think the diet plans could be improved significantly, the workout plans and everything else are phenomenal. So, 5 stars.

So EZ even I can do it

First off, I would like to thank Jim and his staff, for helping our military members. Second, JIMStoppani is really good. Plenty of workouts to choose from and they haven’t deleted my account although it wasn’t in use for a while. I started using it again, and I am impressed. Has a menu, workouts and such. Easy for even someone that has little experience. It even keeps up records of past times you did an exercise and you can see how much you have gained/lost over time. You can print out the workouts and meal plans, just be sure to adjust your printer settings or it comes out small. Thanks again guys, you have saved me time, 6 inches and 15 pounds in 7 weeks!

Improves a lot!

I’ve been using this for a long time (6+ years) since it was a broken mess. It slowly improved over time, but the last overhaul really streamlined it! It work exactly how it should! Shows my old sets/reps, responds better than before, updated the visuals to make it a bit better, and fixed all the bugs that I was still experiencing. The only thing I miss is being able to press return on my keyboard to log weight; when I press the start workout button it takes me to the calendar section which I used to switch between in my workout to refer back to my old sets/reps. Overall I’m very satisfied with JIMStoppani and it’s come a long way.

Getting back in shape

Hello my name is Don I am 42 years old 286 pounds army veteran. When I got out of the army I gained 80 pounds because I stopped working out and felt horrible about myself thanking that I was weak and I was worthless and then I stumbled onto this website Jim and the whole Jim army encourages each other to do better to be better the workouts are simple or easy to follow from beginner to advanced there’s something for everyone and the support with meal plans and just the support to keep going even when you don’t want to is priceless. I would highly recommend this website to anyone wanting to get back in shape.

Amazing app made by a amazing company and man

The man the myth the legend Jim Stoppani is incredible and I have met him and have done his programs for years!. From 300lbs and over weight and just having had a baby a couple weeks prior to where I’m at now years later it’s been a journey to say the least but I’m so thankful to have this amazing company,community and man to go on this journey of health with along with my family which includes them too. JIMStoppani is absolutely worth it and we’ll worth the money. You and your health is worth it. JIMStoppani is user friendly also!. With any program you do make sure you read the overview that’s what it’s there for!.

Worth It

You get everything you need here. Workouts from 4 weeks to 12 weeks. Fat loss, muscle building or strength gaining. A calendar for said workouts and nutrition plans. Yes, most apps give you all of that, however what makes this great is the variety for all experience levels and the breakdown of the science behind the structure of the plans created by Dr. Stoppani. He even breaks down the nutrition to the meals, including pre and post workout supplements. You get everything you need to make any changes or improvements you feel are necessary for your health or workouts routines in a single application.

Never felt better!

This literally takes all the guesswork out of working out. Everything from nutrition to the workouts themselves, I can’t recommend Mr Stoppani or his services and products enough! Literally, over a year without even TOUCHING a weight, always hoping and wishing I’d just shed pounds and get fit again.. that doesn’t work. Jim breaks down everything for you, everything. Just follow it, it’s that simple. And JIMStoppani, being able to see what’s next, letting you log everything, having easily accessible.. I honestly can’t recommend this enough. I’m feeling motivated, I’m feeling good, and I’m getting back into shape.

Absolutely Love it!

I have been using JIMStoppani for a long time and it’s had some issues in the beginning and with workouts continuing to progress the makes JIMStoppani ever continue to progress with new information as well as new videos.I’ve been in the military 15 years and used multiple workout programs as well as built a lot for units. If you cannot find one that works for you you can always ask the creator directly and he pointed me in the right direction. I have had nothing but compliments and I have had nothing but results. The one thing that doesn’t work in JIMStoppani is you to stick to it and bring your motivation and I blame others or have excuses for why you were not fit.
