If I can get my Home Pod to start a timer, why can’t it start this timer? You’d think it would be a no-brainer to create a hands-free breastfeeding timer, but I’m guessing these things aren’t created by people who have actually nursed a baby. Particularly for those of us whose babies have poor latches, we need both hands to sort the kid, not faff about pushing buttons. Even with an Apple Watch, you still have to get your wrist in the right position and have a free hand to press go. So much for technology improving everyday life. It’s far easier to just watch the clock on the wall.

Otherwise, BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding is fair-to/middling. There is no way to input the amount of milk the baby is taking at the breast, for those who are weighing. The sleep function is pretty rudimentary; if you start the clock on one device you won’t know it on the other. My husband and I can’t coordinate very well as a result. The separate sleep timer isn’t much better, and why would you want to open a separate app for sleep anyway? The main benefit of BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding is that you can choose what to track and eliminate the rest from your screen. The log filter is also helpful. All data can be entered or amended later, in case you don’t log something immediately, which is a plus.

The analytics are really the only thing that make this better than a clock and a notebook. The machine saves time by doing the math for you. Otherwise it seems more like a toy than a tool.

So easy for a busy mom!

I’ve been using this ever since my 3rd baby was born. I thought I would just use it for the first month or two but she’s 3 months now and it’s still useful. At first I relied on the notifications because she was jaundiced and I needed to wake her for feedings. Now I’m still relying on it, mostly to remind me which side we’re on (really important when she just nurses on one side most feedings). I love that it’s easy to customize how long between feedings, what type of notification you want, which side you want it to prompt you for, night-mode, etc. The big buttons are perfect for nursing with full hands. You can also track diapers, sleep, pumping, other feedings and growth. The only one I tried to use was growth but I couldn’t figure out how to see what I input previously, and the charts were pretty useless as they rounded up or down too much to give an accurate picture. To me that’s a minor point and not part of the everyday usefulness of BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding .

Amazing App!!!!!!

(Updated at bottom) I have always loved BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding! It’s so helpful for everything regarding baby tracking. Is it possible for the developers to alter the sleep tracker back to how it used to work?? I used to be able to choose a start time for the nap and then hit “start sleep” and it would create a running timer from the start time I chose. ...now no matter what time I choose, if I hit “start sleep” it starts from the current time. This is frustrating because I don’t always have my phone or watch when baby starts sleeping. It sometimes takes 10-20 minutes for me to get around to starting the timer and losing this ability makes the tracking more difficult for me. Other than this, I love the use of BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding ! UPDATE: The developer was quick to respond and instruct me on the update, which allows for even better tracking than before. Thank you for the clarification. Amazing service. Amazing app.

Amazing

BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding really was exactly what I needed! It gave me a breastfeeding timer that quickly allowed me to track and switch between breasts. It is accessible on my watch. Now that I am back at work I can keep track of my expression (I do not always. But I like that I can ) as well as track the bottle feeding. It was so easy to figure out the natural Rhythm of my baby using the data I put into it. I like the charts and data it collects and how it presents it to me. I was able to tell my dr when something was off and have proof of it. There is even a medicine tracking part! 100% recommend! We put it on my husbands phone as well and it keeps us both informed!

I have my babysitter track it in a note that they share with me and I plug in info later. They were not comfortable doing it themselves so it didn’t get deleted accidentally.

Now my most used App

My tracking for feeds and sleeping for my first child was a mess before BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding and I often would forget when naps ended, nursing sessions started, or amounts in a bottle. I also didn’t realize how important all this was to keeping my little one happy - she had colic and it was often hard to tell what was tiredness vs. just general fussiness. Everything became much smoother after switching to BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding at around 2 months. Interface is simple and has the essentials without unnecessary distractions. I especially like the growth curves as I struggled with milk supply early on so seeing this regularly gives me the peace of mind I need. And now that I am back at work my husband and I can sync logs to each of our phones and can easily keep up with status and adjust our schedules if needed. My only regret is not starting with BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding right from the beginning.

Worth Every. Single. Penny.

BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding does everything I need to track all the things for my baby! As a newborn, it helped me remember what side I needed to nurse from and how many dirty/wet diapers we were having a day. Now, at 8 weeks, it’s helping me celebrate milestones like sleeping for 6 or 7 hours at a time!

Every time I think “I wish that app could do this…” I find out that it does! When I return to work, my husband will be caring for our baby most of the time. We just figured out that if he downloads BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding to his phone and uses the same login, we can see the tracking for each other. So he can see how much I’m pumping and I can see how much and when she’s eating. SO COOL!!

Yes, there is a fee to continue using it past the trial period, but a few $$ for the ability to seamlessly track nursing, bottles, diaper changes, pumping, sleep, meds, etc etc etc?? It is totally worth it!

Literally the best app ever

I used BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding for my first baby and totally loved it.. such a lifesaver. Takes out the guesswork of when baby last took a nap, had wet diaper, etc.. Now with our 2nd baby only a short 15 months later, we love it even more- new mommy’s have a lot on their plate, especially with a 17 month old and a 2 month old, BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding will save your life. You can see your baby’s patterns early on and help sleep train them, know when they will likely take that nap, cluster feed, etc.. or detect a problem (i.e. hasn’t had a wet diaper in 24 hours). And the growth chart is a great little tool as well. And now with the latest update- love it even more! Also, being an ER RN, I love being able to “document” my little one’s activities of daily life, and as a new mommy really empowers me and makes me feel in control and “I got this”. Honestly can’t say enough about BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding!!! It’s easy to use and I’ll say it a third time, truly a LIFESAVER!!

Love, love, love this app!!!

This is an update to my previous review.... In short, my husband and I use BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding all the time and would struggle tracking both our daughters without it. It is very easy to use and we especially love that we can both use it and sync our entries across our multiple devices. BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding helps my husband and I keep track of feedings, stools, pumping, and even sleep times. We’re also able to keep track or miscellaneous items that aren’t default functions in BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding like medicine and oral exercises (for our daughter’s tongue/lip tie procedure) via the ad hoc function in BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding . Being able to track these items and have the history has been extremely helpful when reporting to our doctor and lactation consultant. The new color scheme is improved from the previous update (thank you!) — it is easy to read and differentiate between different fields (i.e., wet vs wet and dirty diapers).

Using this app all day every day

As a first time mom, BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding has been invaluable. I have a 3 month old and have BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding open pretty much all day and night. It helps me track all of her breastfeeding and gives me stats on when to expect the next feed based on average intervals and how long feeds are so I can plan our life. BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding helped me get out of the house with her early because it helped me figure out when to expect to have to feed her next or get her ready for a nap. I can also track what I’m pumping as I get ready to go back to work. It’s helped me track her sleep to figure out her rhythm and track diapers so I’m prepared at the pediatrician’s office. I love the charts that show feeding, sleeper, diapers and growth trends over time. We paid for the full version and my husband can log info on his phone and apple watch. BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding should just be given to all new parents to help take some of the guess work out of caring for a newborn. Highly recommend!!!

Worth the extra money to upgrade

I never write reviews for apps but felt I needed to with this. My husband and I are first time parents and we were looking for a way we could track everything (easier for pediatrician visits/our overall sanity). The feed timer works great for breast feeding sessions and love that you have the option to switch to the other side, pause or stop. One thing that never seemed to work correctly was the function letting you know which side to start on. EX: if you finished on the left you’d want to start on the left the next session. However, if you click into the logs it will display which side you started with (LR or RL). Love that you can track weight too. If you are formula & breast feeding you can track both separately and receive a summary for formula ounces vs. breast milk ounces. Overall the biggest selling point is that my husband and I can use it simultaneously and both enter info from our phones. We love it & will be using for awhile!

Super helpful!

So first of all I paid for the full or premium or whatever it is called to share the log with my husband.... and it is beyond worth it (my family made fun of us etc. but here is our experience (it’s long so... I put I’d down below) for those who don’t wish to read I would 100% recommend even if baby is happy and healthy.

this log helped us post hospital release (day 4) to day 10 in determining that our child’s weight had likely gone down again. We had minor signs which concerned us, but family insisted we were being overlying cautious new parents of a new generation and didn’t need to track anything let alone use an ap... our child had lost weight post birth (most do) and gained it back, but on the first dr visit (day 6) lost weight again... went back day 7 and had gained significantly (it was concluded there was little to worry about and it was likely an issue with the different scales used in delivery vs pediatrician’s office. However we noticed (thanks to the ap) that 24 hours between poops had gone by twice and we were only getting 3-4 small wet diapers per day rather than the expected 8+... after our initial release. So we decided to call and asked for a dr appointment 5 days early (I’m glad we did) our child had lost weight, may have been experiencing some dehydration, and visited an ent.... long story short our child is doing well and this ap is wonderfully laid out and worth buying!

Worth Every Penny

I was in search for an app to help me keep track of feedings and expressing. Like my mother I found that I overproduce milk. And unlike my first child my second seems to not know when he’s full. It took my husband I two months of research and trying different techniques to find what worked best for me and our baby. Amidst this trial and error phase I knew I needed an app to send me reminders to pump and reminders of when to feed my baby. BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding let me set reminders or use their preset to my liking. I get reminders for everything I need. I also didn’t think tracking my baby’s sleep was necessary but I have found it fun and informative. I can tell when he awake the most and when he sleeps the most. It also can passively tell when he’s going through a growth spurt cause he sleeps a lot more. I did the 7 day trial period to see if this would be the BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding for me and a few days in I new it was BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding I needed. I can keep track of how much he’s eating and how often and my pumping needs. It also lets you choose breast milk or formula when you go to add a bottle feeding. You can keep track of their growth and diapers plus many other features. I don’t use the diaper tracker too much work for me. BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding also helps keep track of nursing and which breast was used last or to use next. I wholly recommend BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding for those moms like me who are busy or sleep deprived or both lol. It had been a lifesaver.

Fantastic - can’t go without!

UPDATE 2: Have been using for over 2 years now, still love BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding . The analytics are great, and the widgets are still fantastic. Do still wish for separation of night sleep and naps.

UPDATE: Love the new widgets showing timers on the Lock Screen. Wish there was a way to time between placing into crib and check-ins, and falling asleep. ORIGINAL REVIEW We started using BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding while I was breastfeeding, and have continued using it after transitioning to formula. Being able to track diapers, feeds, and sleep has given this anxious mama a bit of sanity - I no longer have to try to remember what baby has done, and the analytics are great for doctors visits. I do wish that BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding let us differentiate between naps and night sleep, but otherwise it’s been an absolutely great app. The new Siri intogration has great potential, but I haven’t been able to get Siri to respond appropriately - she keeps thinking I’m giving a command about a timer, not saying BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding name.

Twin Friendly

As a twin mom BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding has been a lifesaver for setting a schedule and tracking my babies' patterns. I am able to see over a span of time when they are likely to wake up; thus BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding has helped me stay one step ahead. I like that I can sync it to my husband's phone though I wish I could have just paid for it once since it's for the same two children. The timer for pumping and medicine is a great feature and refreshing to know all kinds of parents and all kinds of moms (EBF/formula/solids) can benefit from this. I like how simple it is to switch from child to child and how each child gets his/her own alarms. I love the Apple Watch app. It's simplicity makes it very user friendly even more easy than the phone app. My one suggestion is to set multiple alarms manually instead of a preset timer because sometimes I'm a little late on their schedule and then the timer for the next feed is also late. Also I don't feed them during the night so I don't like that the timer going off at night unnecessarily.

INCREDIBLY helpful to a new mom

I don’t usually spring for paid apps but this one was totally worth it. I originally bought it because I was having trouble wrapping my head around newborn eating and sleeping patterns so the analysis time chart was the selling point because you can visually spot the trends quickly. When my baby is fussy, the first thing I check is the feed timer which helps me determine whether he may be hungry or not, and the express timer and notifications are very helpful for those who are exclusively pumping.

My ONE complaint is that if I want the feeding and expression blocks to show up correctly on the summary time chart, I have to bump them back 15 minutes (I like to log when I FINISH a feeding or pumping session and BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding records it as an automatic 30 minute block starting when you record the session.) So you can still easily see trends, they’re just skewed 30 minutes later or so if you record your feedings and expressions like I do.

Other than that BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding is absolutely perfect for us and I can’t recommend it enough.

Don’t know what I’d do without it!

I love BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding. My little one is 4 months old and, so far, I’ve mainly used it to keep track of which side to nurse on, and track diaper changes. As my kid gets ready to start solids, I’ve started exploring using BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding to track solid food (which food and how they liked it), as well as growth measurements after each doctor’s appointment, and times and amounts of any medicines given.

My favorite things about BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding are that it’s so easy to use and I can start the timer on my phone and end it on my Apple Watch, or vice versa. It’s so great to help me remember to track diapers, because I can just quickly input them from my watch! It’s also free and easy to connect your partner to BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding , you just have to all use the same login info. And if you accidentally forget to end the timer, you can easily go back and edit the time. Plus, it alerts you when you’ve left timer on for longer than 30 minutes. (Also tea I tried Huckleberry and liked BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding better. 🐸☕️)

Life Saving App

BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding has saved my life. I started out with a journal. Logging feeds and diaper changes with pen and paper. It was bulky and hard to carry around. After the first week I transitioned to BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding. It has been a game changer. It has so much info. Daily, weekly, monthly averages on feeding times, sleep times, and diaper changes. It takes some getting used to but after a few days you really get the hang of it. I have been using BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding for 3 weeks now as my son is 4 weeks old. I can’t imagine what my life would be like without it. I would have no idea how much he was eating or how many times I changed his diaper or how long he’s slept in a day. I refer to BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding hourly if not more. It’s been my best friend through this breastfeeding/newborn journey and I will have a hard time parting with it. I feel like even once we have the hang of things and our minds are no longer fuzzy from sleep deprivation I’ll still be documenting out of habit and for the awesome stats. (I’m a postpartum nurse so documenting feeds and diaper changes is second nature to me!) So worth purchasing. I highly recommend!!

Love this app!!!

BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding is fantastic, I use it everyday. I rely on BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding a lot to understand my baby’s schedule since I do baby led feeding and sleeping. So easy to track everything, and now that I’m back to work and needing to pump, this is super helpful to know when to pump and how much i normally express plus how much my little guy is eating at daycare...don’t know how people keep track of all that without a great app like this! Highly recommend! Thank you developers :)

UPDATE: some feedback that would be really helpful for me...would love to be able to have the analyze feature track night data vs day data, with ability to set custom time windows of what I consider daytime vs nighttime. And also would like to turn off analyzing averages for certain time periods...like i only express during work hours, but the averages are taking into account overnight... My son also only gets bottles during the day and I’d like to see how long he goes between feeds at daycare vs feeds at night time...same with naps during the day vs sleeping at night.
If those features could someday be added, that would be amazing for working/pumping moms!!

Just the app I needed!!!

Love BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding! At first I just wanted an app that easily tracked when I fed my baby and which breast - BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding definitely met those needs and more! BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding is very user friendly and I love the simplicity - nothing over the top or trying to do too much - it just does the job which is perfect!
G
I love the reminder of which breast you last used and which breast is next - especially as a first time mom and being so exhausted that you can't even remember which breast you last used! The reminders are also very useful - especially with a sleepy jaundice baby that you need to wake up for feedings! I didn't think I would really need to track the poops and pees - but it's so useful to trend if baby is getting enough milk!

The analysis feature also proved to be very useful! I just used BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding to answer all my doctor's questions at the hospital - he was asking the trends of her feedings and poops/pees - BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding made it so much easier to remember how many times I had fed her for the day and yesterday, wet/dirty diapers she had, average time between feedings, how long her feedings have been - the doctor was so impressed by BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding ! Gave him all the details he needed!

Best app ever!

Our daughter was born and had jaundice. Although she wasn’t considered premature as she was born at 38 weeks and 2 days her birth weight classified her as premature (under 6lbs). I had to be on a very strict feeding schedule and this was all during COVID when I couldn’t even have a lactation consultant come visit me. The LC that made rounds in the hospital was horrible. To top it all off they wanted me to track everything via a piece of paper that I kept forgetting to fill out because my husband and I were both sleep deprived new parents. I kept reading out app after app that I saw advertised on Instagram, Facebook, you name it. I happened upon BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding via the all store and I’m SO glad I decided to do the free trial. It only took one day of using BabyFeedTimerbreastfeeding to purchase it. The user interface is so easy and the fact that it does the math for you on time between feeds and naps was a GAME changer!! If you are looking for an app to help you track all of this look no further!!
