KXT and KERA are absolutely great. This horrible app makes them almost impossible to listen to. On KERA, multiple, Ill-timed commercials often interrupt the SAME story. The feed will often simply stop for 30 seconds or a minute, the restart all on its own.
I’m on a new phone using the current version of KXTPublicMediaApp . Other streaming apps - both radio and television - work flawlessly. KXTPublicMediaApp does not, and I’m done. I’ll listen in the car, but KXTPublicMediaApp is useless.
App is reliable, which is job #1.
Sounds good enough, but you can tell it’s streaming audio on headphones. (Why it’s not 5 stars, just a little room for improvement like most streaming services.)
Glad to be a member. KXT programs great music and always feels like a great mix of new and venerable.
One bug however; in Carplay, the song playing doesn't update. Always stuck on the first song when you started KXTPublicMediaApp .

The play button being in the far left corner on the bottom is such a pain to reach as a right-handed person while on the go.
May not sound like a huge deal, but I listen on my phone multiple times a day and I’m tired of overextending my thumb 😭
I’d recommend something similar to the NPR One app in the top center, or bottom right.
Could be a little more optimized, maybe put your online stream at the forefront of KXTPublicMediaApp home page. The play button at the bottom of the screen works well enough with the control screen pop-up, but it could look better. Maybe something along the lines of Spotify’s or Apple Music’s UI. Overall, great app for what it is.
Fantastic to be able to stream KXT and KERA out of the same app - on demand and access to additional media only a plus.
KXT has been the greatest addition to DFW metroplex radio since radio itself. Commercial free, creative programming- a PD who clearly cares about the content played on her station. Donate to keep public radio!!!
I’ve lived around the country and world and have not found a better radio station anywhere than KXT! I encourage all North Texas music fans to support this gem of a station.
Great option to listen when not in car without need for a radio.
Works flawlessly. Gives me access to music that I enjoy listening too. AD free music is so great to have..

My favorite radio station has an app?! Yes please! We spend a lot of time outside and having it running while I’m in the garden or enjoying the patio is a win!
Love the music - feel like I have a favorite college station I can take anywhere with me to get a constant supply of new music and old classics - with no commercials! What a gift to the world.
I returned to Dallas for Thanksgiving last week for first time in 2 years. I totally forgot how great this station is. We have nothing like this in the Chicago burbs. It’s my new go-to!
Nothing bad to say, app is user friendly, detailed and just plain simple in the best way. I get a huge chunk of my music from this station and I’m glad it’s here
I love being able to listen to the radio station that introduced me to all the good music as a kid. Now that I live away from DFW I can still tap into this awesome station.

Big fan of public radio but I also like listening to music. In particular new music that I haven’t heard and don’t normally hear on other stations. This alone makes KXTPublicMediaApp awesome because I can listen anywhere I want.
While I’m not a native my cousin went to UT and this station became one of her favs She got me hooked this station! There are only a few outstanding npr music channels This one is tip top 💯💯💯😊
