You’d think that with people complaining about this for 7+ years that they would have redesigned this app to be more like Peekaboo Barn or Wild, but it seems they’ve decided to ride the coattails of the other two and depend on parents to buy this app because they like the others even though it’s terrible. Not nearly as eye catching or interesting as the other two. They tried to make it super artistic but it’s just not geared towards children. Very frustrated that I spent money on this because it was a waste.

The graphics in this one are vastly different than the others and seem “rushed” just to get the app out. Too much going on and only half the animals shows are good representation. Also some of the animals are very small. For winter, why oh why would you put a frog? Also, why choose a weasel but not a wolf or a bear in any of the seasons? Common forest animal that every child thinks of. I’ve had peekaboo barn for ten years now and just discovered the other apps. Peekaboo barn was simple. The continuous barn background wasn’t a distraction and easy to make out the animals pictured. I was hoping the same would be for the forest one, even if it showed different seasons. I hope the makers of the app take the time revamp this one. It could be so much better.

This review is for the updated version. There are many glitches now. Every page has an additional graphic that is moving, frustrating my 2-year old to no end. (FYI, they are the butterfly, chipmunk tail, woodpecker...then he shut it off when the winter scene came around again.) This is normally a beautiful, captivating app for the youngest members of the family (4 stars only because we'd like to see more for the price we paid), but until it's fixed, I'm taking it off our iPad.
