I really like ScriptureCitationIndex. It is nice to use as a reference companion. The graphic interphase is clean, but often feels a little cluttered and old fashioned.
One feature that would be exceptionally useful to those of us who are trying to focus on the words of living prophets or who teach in S&I would be a way to check ALL (or at least the most recent) talks citing a specific chapter/section, rather than by grouped verses. With larger pieces of text it is often hard to click through all of the subsections looking for related statements in the most recent general conferences.
Thanks for making this wonderful resource available!

It is truly amazing how relevant the council given by some of our early apostles and church presidents is in our day. The basic truths that the Savior taught are reflected in the council given to our recent ancestors in their day which can also be applied in our understanding in our day. Even though these writings and discourses are not in our Standard Works or scriptures, they still contain inspired truths by our former church presidents and apostles that should be remembered and applied to our study of our understanding of our scriptures. It is an awesome resource to be treasured as another Pearl of great price in our efforts to worship our Father in Heaven and to become like our Savior and Redeemer Jesu Christ.

I have been using his app for many years. It has not changed very much and Iโm sure the UI could be improved, but I would rather it have the functionality it has than a better UI. ScriptureCitationIndex is critical for me in my studies. It is my favorite study companion. Thank you BYU and everyone else who works to make it available for people like me to use.

Once I found this index it changed how I studied the scriptures. On my own I would try to find talks that generally included the same topic I had read about that day. Now I can use ScriptureCitationIndex to help me find talks that coordinate exactly with the scriptures I read and ponder. It is a powerful tool.

I am so thankful for all the work that was put in to creating ScriptureCitationIndex. Iโve been using it since it first came out and Iโve found it invaluable for my personal study and in preparing talks and lessons. I cannot thank the creators enough, they have changed the way I study the gospel.

I have had a hard copy of the Journal of Discourses (JD) for 40 years, but with ScriptureCitationIndex, I have read more from JD in the few years than in the previous 4 decades. It is delightful to have them continuously at my fingertips. In 2014 I "loaned" out my printed volumes because I now read them here instead. The Citation Index is working very nicely.
I appreciate that the conference talks are included back to 1942, and TPJS. I am thankful to those who labor to add in the latest conference talks every six months.

I love ScriptureCitationIndex! If I am ever confused about the meaning of a scripture I can reverse look it up with ScriptureCitationIndex and see what the prophets and apostles have said about it and it makes the world of difference. I am grateful for the hours which must have been put in and which continue to be invested to make ScriptureCitationIndex super useful to me. :) LOVE IT and LOVE the messages in scriptures.

ScriptureCitationIndex has greatly increased my understanding of the scriptures. After reading and pondering scriptures I turn to the citation index to read what the current general authorities have gleaned from the same scriptures. This has allowed me to see the scriptures from another perspective and has helped to build my understanding in confidence in the truthfulness of what was read.

The citation index is something every member of the church should have on their phone, iPad, and computer. It makes finding information about any gospel topics simple and quick. I ask all of my children, friends, And fellow missionaries to download it immediately. All are Pleased to find out about it. It is essential for any serious gospel study.

I love that I can put something in and be able to have it available quickly! This is one of my favorite apps of all time! It is full of information with talks and scriptures to help you study the scriptures very effectively! I am so grateful for those that took the time to put this together! Thank you for such an amazing app! Please donโt ever get rid of it!

I love ScriptureCitationIndex when Iโm trying to understand the scriptures better. For example, I can see multiple interpretations of one single parable of Jesus Christ by using ScriptureCitationIndex. Multiple Church Leaders share their interpretations in General Conference. That is so helpful!
I also can use when I have a hard time understanding one particular verse of scripture.
ScriptureCitationIndex is great!

As I find verses that are interesting or challenging to understand, or even verses that are particularly inspiring or answers to prayer, I find further value in seeing what has been said about them, how they have been quoted and any further insights other members of the Church of Jesus Christ have found. Thank you for creating and maintaining this.

I am so grateful to have these historical articles laid out in the manner from which I can quote and be sure of the original manuscripts. More to the point, the organization is such that specific topics can be followed and lessons learned.
I cannot express in words my gratitude for this application and the hands that prepared and support the application. Thank you!

I learned about this โwebsiteโ on my mission, it transformed my daily scripture โreadingโ into a deeper study of the scriptures and allowed me to dive deeper into topics, ideas and revelations. Even 2 years later Iโve made this apart of my daily study and even now continue to learn more and more! I highly recommend downloading ScriptureCitationIndex .

There is literally nothing else like it currently available. Two words: Thank You. Donโt know if many know that a hardcover set of JD could cost from between $200 to ~$600 or more. To have them indexed and searchable is amazing, & much lighter to carry around on a cell phone than in a wheel barrow, as Elder Maxwell once quipped we might need to do if we desired to carry with us so many of these great writings.

Before I discovered ScriptureCitationIndex I was having a lot of trouble feeling motivated to study topics of find my own way of reading the scriptures. And this has been a game changer for me !! I got through first nephi again within a week of using ScriptureCitationIndex . I think the only change that might be helpful is the ability to possibly mark and make notes on the verses that you like or that are personal to you.

I love using ScriptureCitationIndex when preparing Talks and even for and especially when cross referencing my Gospel Library study!
I will pull talks from years prior to thise in the Gospel Library to more fully complement my Gospel knowledge.
ScriptureCitationIndex is also better at times to search topics as the GL does not search as well at times...
Thank you for such a great tool to enhance and complement my "bringing together in one" a stronger testimony of Jesus Christ.

Next to the Gospel Library app, this is the most useful app on my phone. Well, this one and Word Cruncher, another app that assists with the study of the scriptures and ancient writings. But this one is unique in application. It fills a critical niche in Gospel study thatโs hard to replicate without a full actual library of everything any General Authority has ever written or said in General Conference; itโs THAT useful! I love it and thank the programmer(s) so much for their work.

I never could afford JD but I always wanted to read on different topics. I have used this index when preparing talks and lessons. I love to share some of the same thoughts spoken of by known and respected prophets and other Church leaders to reinforce any given topic. I am glad it has become easier to open ScriptureCitationIndex. For a time I would open it and it would close immediately. I am so glad that that issue has been resolved. Love ScriptureCitationIndex. I highly recommend it to anyone.

You can efficiently access modern commentary on the scriptures through this resource. You also can use the concentration of citations to focus your study on the most important areas in the scriptures. You can quickly see how the scriptures and modern prophetic counsel are linked together by subsequent modern prophets. Truly amazing to have this as an app.

Itโs hard to find journal discourses for a cheap price but this has not only that but the Quad and the teachings of Joseph smith so if your not near your books and just want to read up on something at work itโs nice that itโs all accessible on my phone and doesnโt require to use data.

This app lets you navigate easily between the scriptures (standard works of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: The Holy Bible, The Book of Mormon, etc.) and the General Conference talks and other writings that cite those scriptures.
For example, you can see who has cited 1 Timothy 4:12 or Daniel 2:44 in General Conference (1942-present), in the Journal of Discourses, or in Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith.
Our users tell us that this app is very helpful for scripture study and lesson/talk preparation.
