A Terrible Player

Highly buggy program that makes absurd moves. Impossible to lose to this one. The author needs to review alpha-beta pruning and game trees.

Too easy, does not remember settings

Nice graphics And stable but the game engine is too easy to beat even on hardest (iOS best settings) and the program does not remember the difficulty or board type (wood, glass etc) between restarting the program. The board is always oriented to you from the white player side so there is no way to let the computer play first and play the board from the black player side - so you have to play "upside down" if you want the device to move first.

Love it, but

It would be excellent if only you could move any pieces (other then where it tells you to)

Dave

If you could add another difficulty, perhaps iOS's legendary and improved graphics for the new iPads retina display. But overall a very nice game.

Not bad

Good app but the hardest difficulty isn't quite hard enough

It was fun, but...

The final difficulty is like child's play! I was looking for a challenge, but I can beat iOS best without losing a single piece. The game needs to have a better ai.

Checkers

Very addicting.

Awesome!

I love this app and I'm really good at it. I like Checkers a lot.

Luvz

I love this game it is so awesome! I play it every day! Must buy!

Awesome app!

This is a great app! I love this app and this helps me get better!

Checkers

I love playing this app!! Is it so fun.....and I win pretty much ALL the time!

Fun.

I recommend this Application/Game to anyone that loves strategy. In this well designed game, you get to choose what you want your opponent to be. You have various options, you can either play with a friend, play against a computer, and even set your difficulty against your Computer Operated Opponent. You also get to pick the theme that to want to play with. Yet again you can choose a variety of different themes, there's sci-fi themes, original checker themes, candy themes, and even more! You have a range of rules and settings you can change depending on your understanding, and so that is why I recommend this application for you.

Best yet

I have tried most of the available this app apps and this one is the best. Others apps have annoying features such as oscillating pieces which cannot be turned off and some give up when you are winning rather than battling it out to the finish. Some other apps are too slow to make a move or ask you each time if you want to move twice, etc.
Checkers also adapts to the screen orientation unlike most other this app apps.
I would be happy to pay to get rid of the ads.

Checkers

This is an awesome app, it helps me get better at my skills and I can change the difficultly.

Hard Fun Game (First!)

Its a fun game, harder than the other checker games ive found that you have to pay to get the 'hardest' level which is like the easy mode on this, but this ones harder and more fun

Checkers

I love this app and this is just like the real thing! There are 3 difficulties, and even a 2 player mode! This game is perfect! And you CAN turn off the force jump in the settings. What's not to like?

Neat!! Best App available - for free!

Love Checkers! But, wouldn't you know - never satisfied! My suggestion for improvement regards first move in human-machine game series. Can/would it be possible to permit loser of previous game to go first (or even alternate first moves) in human-machine series. Although I don't readily find the international rule here, our kid games always played loser moves first in next game.

So again, great App. Thanks.

Great game

This this app is awesome, it is most definitely possible to beat the computer, even with forced jump. However, you can adjust the settings and take forced jump off. For those who don't think so it is even possible to beat the computer when it is set to best, as I have several times.

Good game for free

I like playing against the iPad. It's good that you can go first or you can have the computer move first. Also being able to turn forced jumping on and off is good. I have a minor complaint about the graphics. When I play the dark pieces, the shadows are at the top of the screen instead of the bottom. One other suggestion: I wish the computer was a bit smarter, or perhaps had levels of intelligence.

Go Raiders!!!!!

Love this this app game, my kids love it as well...great to pass time when we traveling....Go Raiders!!!!!

Features

When a player’s piece arrives on the furthest forward row of squares (the opponent’s side of the board), the piece gets crowned and can then move or jump in any direction diagonally.

If the opponent’s piece is blocking, and the diagonal square beyond is free, a piece is allowed to jump over the opponent’s piece to the 2nd diagonal square and remove the opponent’s piece from the board.

If a player is able to jump and capture an opponent’s piece, the rules require that the jump be made.

A piece can move diagonally one square toward the opposite side of the board only.

From the landing square of the jump, if an additional jump is possible, the player may continue with a 2nd jump.
