    Terrible app, terrible company.

    Every update makes this app worse to use. 8x8 doesn't care, because they don't have to. CallKit integration is perhaps the worst thing Apple has done to us. I DON'T WANT my work calls mixed in with my personal calls and 8x8 doesn't give us the option to disable CallKit like Skype does. Too much work is my guess. Virtual Office rings when the app was closed, not in the background, but CLOSED. 8x8 tries to sell it as a feature! Total garbage. My extension started dumping to voice mail when I was running Virtual Office. Even when one of the call pools was directed to my handset. 8x8 says reinstall the app, which is the kind of useless "support" we get. The most recent update fixed it but as far as I know that ticket's still open. Follow up? What's that? 8x8 doesn't care because I'm stuck since I don't make decisions at my work. If I could trash this piece of crap I would, but I need it for my job. So why would 8x8 care about me? They don't. And it shows. I asked my Director of Finance why we use this awful company, especially when he spends a few hours a week on their tech support line not getting a solution. His answer: they're cheap. And it shows.

    Not very good- unreliable

    Also works horribly with Apple Car play- people can never hear me and I always have to call them back outside the app. The text functions are also difficult b/c they don’t always deliver messages (both ends)... the other major frustration is that (and this has happened to myself and a number of coworkers) the phone rings at my desk for about a half of a second or maybe one ring. By the time I move my hands from my keyboard to the phone the call is gone and in my voice mail. NO- this is not a setting function, that was the obvious and immediate thought. Nope. Not it. Sometimes it just “goes away” but I’m currently dealing with missing most of my calls unless I have super fast pick up abilities!

    Awful call quality. Missed Calls

    I am using this App for my medical practice and we are in a horrible situation! The mobile App has HORRENDOUS call quality - so much so that I end up just calling people back on my regular cell phone without using the 8x8 app. Additionally, we have tried tweaking the settings of the App multiple different ways, but we get calls that just go straight to voicemail without ever ringing our phones. Comparatively, we have used RingCentral before for a previous setup, but went with 8x8 this time because it was cheaper. Looks like you get what you pay for :-( I am very displeased. I will be warming my other Medicial colleagues that this App is not stable enough to handle vital communication related to patient care. I can’t imagine it would do well with starting a business either!

    So many bad reviews. Very suspicious.

    We have been using 8x8 including this mobile softphone app for several months now (80 employees) - pbx is extremely stable, call quality is excellent (8000 calls made so far, not a single call dropped). Outsourced tier 1 support is not great, however, after a while you will learn how to manage without them, since huge majority of issues - are transient, there is no fix or you can fix it yourself. I will add that we have evaluated their closest competition extensively - and i mean it (cloud pbx / saas) - and 8x8 offers the best mix of enterprise features, for companies considering jump from on-prem to cloud/saas.

    Outstanding!! Makes business so much simpler.

    I enjoy how 8x8 Virtual Office make separating business from personal while using one device. Simple and easy to use. I promote it to all my contacts and associates still using two devices. Clear calls are a must in my line of work and Virtual Office does not disappoint. My only not so happy is on SMS not sending/receiving all the time and sometimes my contact list does not fully populate from my phone contact list. Few inconvenient moments though overall a must have solution.

    Nice but a few issues

    When working remotely, at times calls were on a lag, and it was awkward. It would also be nice if the app would work with the Apple Watch so it would ring through to the watch when my phone is on silent and out of sight. Other than that, it’s pretty nice to be able to have office calls ring to my cell and coworker be able to chat with me, no matter what office I am working out of.

    Great Idea... so many problems

    This seemed like an amazing idea. I have so many problems, and I’ve lost so many clients because of this phone system not working. Even when they tell me the back up is that the phones will ring on our mobile phones, half the time that doesn’t happen. I have a very difficult time with customer support and have spent hours upon hours of my time not to mention my employees time trying to get this to work, to no avail. On top of that, I’ve spent a lot of money and have never been offered any compensation for the countless times my system has not worked. Disappointing.

    Best way to stay connected

    I’m always on the road, I work remotely and have two teams to work with in two separate time zones, yet I never miss a meeting and I’m always up to date. And on the off chance I can’t make it to a call, it can be recorded for later review. I’m always one click away to my team and vice versa and all our conversations are on stored in this single source or truth. I love this product! For full disclosure I an employee of 8x8.

    Continually connect to phone service

    So many problems with this app! My status is constantly set as invisible no matter how many times I set it to available. There’s a constant loading circle around the status that flashes green for 1 second and goes back to gray/invisible. Call log and voicemail log doesn’t appear on the app but I can see everything on my virtual office desktop app. Very frustrating and it’s impossible to get in touch with someone to resolve the issue. Have tried multiple times and am told to “uninstall and reinstall the app” even though I have done this multiple times and this is a brand new phone!

    Updated app is not working well at all

    The update to the app for IPhone does not work well at all especially with voice mail. I can not retrieve them, only see that I have them and initially I could not even get to them. It is very frustrating. And as suspected if I give a bad review I cannot post because if given one star every single nick name no matter how ridiculous is “taken”....

    Consistently terrible

    At least 9 out of 10 calls show “poor connection”. This happens regardless of the network. I’ve tried both on cellular and on WiFi (multiple WiFi networks at that) and it consistently has this issue. Calls are regularly dropped, get choppy, and we’re often times unable to even answer an incoming call. The problem is so bad that my partner refuses to use Virtual Office and calls from her personal cell. I don’t want my personal number commingled with business, so I unfortunately and stuck with the unprofessional appearance and sales damaging effect of poor phone service.

    If it's not one thing, it's another

    First, I realized that I couldn't send or receive text messages. After three or four days, that issue was resolved. Now, I'm not receiving calls on my iPhone--they'll show up as missed calls even when the app is up and running. It consistently displays a message that says, "Unable to connect to phone service". My 8x8 landline works and my desktop app works for making and receiving calls. Just not my up iphone. What good is a mobile app for my business line if it doesn't work? Terrible disappointment.

    Good but inconsistent

    Great application concept. Use it for my 8 person office. Works well since staff are working at office, home and at clients. However sometimes the call quality is bad even though a call to same number use my cell phone is perfectly fine. More issue when sometimes I cannot get a call to connect. My current remedy is to uninstall the app from my IPhone and reinstall.

    My biggest pet peeves are apps that violate notifications settings. I have all notifications off and the app closed and this app still rings my cellphone every time my desk phone rings. This is annoying and confusing especially when my settings have all notifications off. I want to be able to decide when I see work calls on my phone and the only way to do this is to logout of the app completely and login only when I want to use it. Notifications for texts and voice calls should be separated.

    Issues with ios app

    I've turned on notifications and done all the settings correctly yet the app doesn't ring when I get an incoming call... iphone X Spoke to support at 8x8 for over an hour, nada. It won't ring when connected to Wi-Fi, yet on the desktop app it rings when connected to the same Wi-Fi network.. Any suggestions?
