Simply install the Companion application, refer to the included Help to configure it to use your existing Traveler server, and upon completion of the configuration steps, you are ready to go! Organizations using MobileIron can even automatically configure Companion.
Organizations using MobileIron to manage their mobile applications can securely access their Traveler server and ensure compliance with the organization's device and mobile application security policies.
HCL Traveler Companion will also allow you to send encrypted mail from your device, and read and respond to other secure messages, such as those marked "do not copy" or containing sensitive attachments.
(Traveler server 11.0.0.0 or greater is recommended to take advantage of all of the available features.) Any problems found with the Traveler Companion application or the Traveler server can be reported through your normal HCL support process.
After entering your Traveler password, the mail will be displayed on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, and then upon exit will leave no decrypted mail on the device -- ensuring the security of your most sensitive corporate data.
Encrypted mail will appear in your Inbox with only a unique, secure link for the Companion application.

Your Traveler server must be running Traveler 9.0.1.3 (or greater) to support this application.

This is awesome!! My only issue is that once you read the encrypted mail, it doesn't go back to your inbox. From my understanding, it's more of a limitation of the iPhone OS.
There was an IBMer that said something about buying? Traveler is free as long as you're a Lotus Notes user and are allowed to use it.. My guess is that you're not allowed.

Thank you IBM. HCLTravelerCompanion solidified our decision to bring the iPhone into our enterprise environment. The set up was a breeze (if you follow the instructions) and app configuration is very simple. If you could add functionality that tells the user that they entered a wrong password when opening an encrypted email, it would be perfect. I still give it 5 stars though.

Automatically configured itself the first time I clicked the link to launch HCLTravelerCompanion from within an encrypted email in my iPhone native email. Works great and now I can read encrypted notes from within HCLTravelerCompanion !

With HCLTravelerCompanion, I can read encrypted messages. Pretty basic stuff, it's helpful, but IBM can do so much more!
It would be really nice if it also let me set my Out of Office. Converting "doc links" to web links would be a big bonus too.

Worked ok for a few weeks. Then some system trouble at work caused it to start trying to update continuously, and unsuccessfully. It ran a full battery dead by lunchtime & made my phone very hot. Hard to know if its lotus' incompetence or my employer's. Seems like it's a pretty tight race. Reinstall worked for a month or so but now its not working again. No choice really so I'll have to keep investing time in it.

App was easy to install and use after reading the help to configure the settings .

Excellent application that is simple to use and works really well. However, two things could be improved:
1)ability to add calendar entries directly from the iPhone (why is this not possible?)
2)ability to scroll down when you have started responding to a message. For some reason this does not work.
Other than that, it's really excellent. If the two issues above could be fixed, it would be perfect!

It is so difficult to open 'secure' emails (i.e. payroll statements) with all of the extra steps. I constantly get locked out and have to WAIT for the daily reset at Noon to use Notes Traveler email. Only at noon and no option to call anyone at IBM help to reset. No option on 'Forgot Password'. Back to trusty Lenovo 420 to be productive. Same issue with iPhone. Argh...

The iPad calendar and email integration is great, but HCLTravelerCompanion would be even better if IBM would get up to speed with a sametime app/feature.

App was working great till OS 4 update. Phone kept saying passcode was expired after every few seconds. Had to delete the lotus profile from my phone to fix this issue.

Great start to get Notes mail on the iPhone. Need complete calendar integration beyond accept/decline and Sametime would take it to 5 stars.

I have been using Lotus products for over a decade and this is a bad one. After installing this I saw a pattern of calendar entries not syncing between my desktop, iPhone, and browser calendar. I just uninstalled it.

I receive an error message, "There is no notes ID file for your user on Traveler", each time I try to use HCLTravelerCompanion to read encrypted email. I reported the issue using the help and support function but received no response yet.

Every time I open a new message I have to change my server to the correct setting... Why is this? I have saved these settings but for some reason they require updating each time. Any advice?
