App Still Stinks

People have been complaining about the same issue for one year and more. Still no fixes for notifications of new mail and new mail taking forever to show up...even when Push is setup. Don’t you all test your apps before publishing? If you want to compete with Office365...then get an app that works and functions the way your customers expect it to! Don’t bother replying telling me to open a case with HCL support... I shouldn’t have to open a case that deals with functionality of your app working the way all email apps are supposed to work! I’m not your test subject or QA control! Fix HCLVerse for crying out loud!!

Why IBM instead of Tempo ?!

Update: I just took a star away as the immediate experience is not leaping off the page in the Apple way saying, "Use Me". Instead I get a screen to login but not setup. Call me naive but every other app affords both, unless this is a paradigm shift. Don't like that.

I got Tempo because it so well enhances my Calendar as the centerpiece of info for my dates: the people, their contact info, any documents and emails, and quick messaging. That's cool. But this might be cooler still!

Why? I'm used to Tempo (named after Mark Tempo, SRI CTO and designer), as it "out Apples Apple." How? It combines info already there into where it's most useful.

Now IBM has analytics, a fancy was to say it learns from your (my) behavior and makes decisions on what best to present. A second generation improvement on the ole calendar. Is it good or better? I don't know yet, but I'll be back after using it.

No longer receiving notifications

After the latest update, I no longer receive notifications when new mail arrives. I find myself constantly being surprised by a large number of new messages that have suddenly appeared from nowhere.

I can't stress enough my level of annoyance with HCLVerse. It constantly crashes or has some stupid thing wrong with it. Every update fixes one problem but seems to cause at least one new issue. I only wish my company could find a way out of the Lotus environment to something more mainstream so I wouldn't have to deal with this goofy app anymore.

Mediocre but functional

Not as good as the iOS mail app. Verse is buggy and still immature (features not fully implemented or thought through - feels like "version 1.0" or worse.) Some people may like having work email and calendar in separate apps from personal but for me it is a nuisance - they were already separate enough. Biggie for me: When I get phone calls from people in my IBM contacts list they are "unknown" - I used to have all my 500+ contacts synchronized and I knew who was calling.

IBM Verse makes life easier

I love the new Verse app. It helps me consolidate my important work needs in one place in a very intuitive and easy to use design. Triaging Mail has never been easier, and I can get most things done on HCLVerse that I could do from my browser Verse client, all while waiting in lines, at dr appointments, or wherever I am. Looking forward to what is coming next for this awesome app.

Wonderful!

I love the Verse app and it has never crashed for me, as I saw noted in a previous review. I would give it 5 stars if it only had the "remove from inbox" icon. I realize that we're not on the servers that allow us to retrieve email in the "all documents" space, but just the ability to triage email from my phone in the evening or while traveling would be a HUGE time saver - since there is no time to triage during the day.

No improvement from Iphone Email

IBM Verse does not sync very well. It says I have emails and when I go there they do not download. I prefer the older version of being able to use my Iphone email services to access my email. IBM Verse is just getting in the way of seeing all my emails in one place.

The program itself lags as well and it takes too many steps to file an email away. Only bright side is the calender but again, I like having all my calendars in one place.

Was bad before update, now useless

If I could give 0 stars that would be way to many. Before the update with new HCL logo and such that app was at least usable. Now when HCLVerse opens you can't do anything. I have to seriously open HCLVerse , wait 10 minutes and then I can actulaay use it fine. The initial check for new messages (should be checking for messages before HCLVerse even opens but that doesn't work) and whatever else it is doing keeps you from even being able to scroll or open any mail.

App Stops Working When You Try to Open Truncated Messages

I have had to delete and redownload HCLVerse five times because it stops opening up and will not work. This time, it stopped working because I tried to open a truncated email. My bad. Just trying to check what the email said which is the most basic function of an email app. It is a lot of trouble to redownload HCLVerse too because I have to put in my company’s server information again. I wish they would improve HCLVerse and fix these bugs!

Few functions need improvement for iphone

Please improve...cut and paste function. Cant cut and paste email addresses from one email to another. Please add spell check. Improve Push function. Emails do not come thru unless I refresh manually. Improve meeting requests...add tentative option. If possible, improve contacts so they don't duplicate when shared with iphone contacts.

Good mail and calendar client

Only have a couple of gripes about this:

1. Says I have new mail in notification so I click it. But no mail shows in inbox until I pull down to refresh.

2. No separate alert sound for meetings. I need a different sound for calendar alerts than just the default notification. I get this from the native email and calendar app on iOS. Why can't Verse do it?

Does what it needs to!

HCLVerse has simple interface and does what it needs to to for work calendar and email. One enhancement comes to mind on the UI - could you add dark mode support? HCLVerse would actually look better and it would enhance the UI. The way it is there is way too much white space and it can be hard on the eyes.

Opens slow after last update

Generally, I’ve enjoyed HCLVerse though it does have some quirks. My main complaint is the latest update has really slowed down HCLVerse . Opening HCLVerse , switching to inbox or calendar, waiting for refresh, scrolling up and down the list of messages— laggy and very annoying. Please fix quickly!

It's a great mobile product.

My entire company uses this day and and day out. And it works great and is reliable. When I saw the rating on here I had to post a review that let people know it's an incredible product and worth of a full 5 stars.

Constantly crashes

I had 9.8.7 installed but it would constantly crash when pulling down email. I checked HCLVerse store and saw 9.8.9 was available. Deleted the old version since there doesn't appear to be a way to just upgrade and down loaded the new version. Well, now it will not initialize at all. It goes into an endless loop switching back and forth between initializing and configuring. Deleted and reinstalled same result. Very unhappy.

Poorly Designed

Needs a lot of work. It takes forever to sync. Folders never updates. New mails takes 15 minutes to arrive. You don’t receive notifications if u don't open HCLVerse for a day. Emails sometimes wont send out. You have to clear cookies and cache after every few days to improve app speed. HCLVerse is useful and has great potential but needs a lot of updates to make it work.

Thank you

Decent but needs significant improvement

Push doesn't work well, and it's baffling why Verse doesn't have the same insights to suggest folders that the iOS mail client does.

For as long as HCLVerse has been available it's difficult to understand why such basic capabilities have not been implemented.

Needs full support of the iPad Pro

HCLVerse needs to be updated to fully support the iPad Pro. From its graphic elements, to the way it uses screen real estate. It should support slide over and full multi-tasking. IBM has a working relationship with Apple, it is simply beyond comprehension that the IBM apps where not updated to fully support the iPad Pro from day one of its release.

Slow and keeps bombing out

Since the latest release, Verse on the iPad doesn't sync accurately and it constantly closes unexpectedly. And it is SO SLOW. It was much better before. The iPhone version works much better. This is incredibly frustrating, esp since we are all trying to be mobile. I guess I'll try deleting and reinstalling for the third time!

Rename your app to Worse

This is the worst application that IBM has developed and now dumped onto HCL to manage which has created it truly worst one. It was already very slow app. My mails do not sync up anymore even after refreshing. Calendar entries does not show up. The Verse web app is just ridiculous too. Basically IBM no longer has better option for emails anymore.

Work on this

Can’t get email to load and can’t send any email.

Trouble in Verse City

I mean HCLVerse will probably never match that of Outlook because it’s supporting antiquated Lotus Notes, but it could still work a lot better than it does. Since my last update, when I login with facial recognition HCLVerse hangs for a good 15-20 seconds before getting to my Inbox. Then HCLVerse takes forever to move from section to section after I tap on an item making it impossible to communicate effectively in the corporate world. Please make a patch to fix this soon! Thanks
