Ok. To the developers: I don’t know how you expect a response so I’m adding an answer back to you here. I had put a review on here Tuesday and you want to know about my device ...I was playing on my iPad Pro with iOS 12.2. Also, I’m unclear if the online 4 player version is with real people as I was looking for. Or if the other 3 players are computer generated. Thank you

I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to play the online version but after each of us plays our turn once, the game just sits there. With the exception a couple times one of the 3 others bailed out before I got a turn at all. I give up. This couldn’t be worse. The offline version is ok. But I wanted to play with other people. I give up.

In the last couple of weeks this game has become a weak point for malicious software attacks. My security app has intercepted at least one attack per round. Additionally, it takes multiple clicks to clear ads. This was not evident when I downloaded this game in the beginning. Then it became an annoyance. However, at some point that disappeared. Perhaps another user pointed it out - or maybe multiple users. 3-5 clicks per ad add up. Now it has come back and your aim better be precise as the target for dismissing the ad seems to be quite small.
But it seems that this has become the norm across the whole of Apple Store apps.

I have yet to start a round where I could lay down a match on the first hand. I also have yet to have a round where the computer couldn't. Around 95% of my discards are used by the computer. This is a constant basis. No amount of probability would have it happen so often in reality. The game crashes after every so many games. This is either a deliberately designed game intended to allow the computer to win no matter what, or needs a new programmer. To add on, the game no longer comes close to following true this app rules. I am thinking the programmers have never played the game and have no idea how to play it. I gave it a chance and was hoping with updates my initial (beginning of this) issues would be resolved. Wish I could rate in the negative. Don't waste your time. Avoid the frustration. Terribly programmed game.

The real problem is that every time the ad changes at the bottom the game freezes for 5-20 seconds. Very frustrating.

Otherwise, game is not too bad though should at least have the option of requiring two Canastas to go out. In four player game, the player to the right always takes the pile with one and a wildcard and almost always has black threes to discard. Have noticed that when a red three is turned over to start and the pile is taken by the computer, they do not discard but if I take that pile, I still have to. Also, when I do not have a this app and am down to a single card, if the computer discards a card I have melded on the table, into a pile containing more than one card, I can't take the pile. I understand if the pile is a single card because then I would not have a discard. But with multiple cards in the pile, I should be able to take the pile.

Ok, I’m pretty good at playing this app and I love playing a good game. Canasta is a good idea for those that enjoy playing. It gives you the option of playing online or offline. I know Canasta has no control over the people that play online. I’ve been playing on here about a week now and it’s very disappointing when I try to play online because someone always either quits the first hand or I guess they don’t no how to play and just sit there and the game times out, it’s usually someone quits. And when you play offline we’ll the parter or computer plays against you and discards all his wildcards instead of making a this app or he just wants to hold all his cards instead of playing them. I know sometimes it’s good to hold your cards but every time is well, disappointing. However it’s better then not playing at all, but the online well you might as well not play.

Oct 2018: Offensive Kemp political ad is not welcomed and should be illegal to do that happened yesterday.
Bug where red 3 is discarded still happens.

Game today 6/9: pile had 3 or more wild cards (2’s) but when I melded with card on top of pile I only got 1. Game is buggy. Not playing any more

Has bugs as mentioned below and have never been fixed. I have to cancel a game to correct. GOOD GAME EXCEPT FOR BUGS. TODAY RED 3 WAS DISCARDED, SOMETIMES THE DISCARD PILE HAS PROBLEMS. THERE IS NO WAY TO CONNECT TO THE DEVELOPER PAGE TO REPORT A PROBLEM. THE WEB SITE LINK IS NO LONGER VALID.
SO I WOULD BUY A VERSION WITHOUT ADS BUT NOT WITH THE BUGS AND SUPPORT ISSUES.
TO GET TO THIS I HAD TO USE MY DESKTOP. I COULD NOT GET ANY WAY TO PROVIDE A COMMENT/CONCERN OTHERWISE.

New bug: computer does not always discard after a play. The has not been fixed. Just happened with a game and it is always computer that does not discard.

Also the draw from discard for to play on a this app is not legal.

Game today (12/28) opponent discarded red three. Still glitches to fix

This could be a great game. But you people need to do a lot of work on it. My 3 sisters and I have been trying many nights a week and don’t make it through many games because it crashes, or freezes or just wont load . So discouraging . We are in our 70’s and one of us is 84. We have played this app all our lives. And now we don’t live close together. This was a great way to get to play our favorite game together once again. Therefore giving it 2 stars. Get it fixed and you would get 5 stars. Thanks for reading this . Please respond so I know you did read it.

I did love this game and spent my time playing it..I get tired of the robot. (Is it a robot?) playing against the rules. Yes I get frustrated, not that I’m going to lose but because the rules are not followed. On several occasions I left the game because of this. Thought you might fix it, but no. Now as I’m getting ready to win the game is closed on me.....I want to play an honest game.......

I love this app this game is fun, I like it. I use to play big time this app with a couple different partners. We were really good. No, we didn’t cheat, never! Even when I was teaching my young children to play cards they were not allowed to cheat. I quit the partner this app because we got tired of being called cheaters. We were good, not cheaters! I am so tired of cheating by a robot (I think it’s a robot). First hand 6 cards, three wild cards. Happened twice. I played the first game and won. I quit the second game. One day I finished a game, which I lost could not believe the cheating. PLEASE FIX IT. I LOVE THIS GAME.......THANK YOU,

This game unfairly favors the computer, in that, when the opponent scores a high point the melding sum keeps increasing. However, when the computer scores high points often times it does not raise its melding point like it does when I score high. Anyone who really knows the true rules of this app would be appalled at the rule bending the creator has done with this game. I win more often than the computer which only reinforces the fact that the creator does not know this game very well...haha. I have played with real people who know this game, and have made it more of a challenge for me.

I enjoy the game when it works. I am currently playing the free version. I like playing online against others. Sadly, much too often the screen goes back to the card table after the ads between hands, but I cannot see any cards for my hand and cannot play. If I stay with the game, I can see my time run out and others “light up” for their turn a few time. Eventually the game just tells me that I have forfeited since I am not connected to the game. Very aggravating for me and probably for those that I am playing with.

Seems like every time I get a worthy opponent on line, the system crashes or freezes!
Hard to find players that stay in the game. How do you find players? I’ve never been asked to play a game on line?
It would be nice to have a chat option with opponents.
Also, for players who just like to play a couple of hands then “go out” immediately...find a new strategy. There is zero fun in playing against people who just want to make a this app then go out within the first couple of draws....

I am enjoying your app! I have played some other this app applications and they are not as user friendly as this on is!

If I could make several observations:
1) it would be a great benefit to offer a rematch button, so that we (the end users) could play another round with the same partners/players

2) it would also be beneficial to offer a ratings option for the partner of the game. I enjoy playing with several of the players that you match me with and would like the opportunity to play with that partner again.

3) I think it may be beneficial to also offer the opportunity to “friend” players so that we are able to create our own this app community within the application!

Once again thanks for the incredible application and I really enjoying the current features you offer.

I can’t tell you the number of times that a player has quit because they didn’t like the hand they were dealt. Do they do that when they sit down at a table with friends to play? I doubt it because no one would want to play with them. They shouldn’t be allowed to do it without forfeiting something. Maybe ban them for a week. Otherwise I enjoy the game.

This game is fun, but many times the computer is a dud to play with. Funny how the computer mostly makes his meld right out of the shoot. To win at this app you have to have two canastas to go out. In this version it only requires one. It's no fun when you are building your strategy with a handful of cards and the computer goes out with one this app. Frustrating. Also, the games reboots itself a lot and you lose points and entire games. HOWEVER! I love this game and play it all the time. I just wish they would develop a better version. Play it, you'll love it.

Great game that you can play with 2 or 4 players either portrait or landscape. However the game just started to cut off the screen around the front camera so you cannot see the backs of the cards for the player in that position. Please fix as it is necessary to the strategy of the game. The screen used to be positioned ( reduced) on the screen where you could see the entire game . It now covers the entire screen and that means that the portion around the camera is not visible.

I have been playing this app since I was a youngster. I come from a very large family of this app players. All of the second generation of this app players in my very large family have passed on the passion of this app to our children and their spouses and who now have passed the love for this game to the great grandchildren of the first person that I’m aware that started this tradition of playing, my FATHER, NOW DECEASED. THANK YOU DAD FOR TEACHING US THIS GAME, which we can now play on our iPads. Love, love, love this game!

This game is fun and I have played it all my life, it’s fun I can play as fast as I want to play, my problem is I live by myself and have no one to play with, now with my iPad I can play when I want and as fast as I want and It’s like you have a game of 2 or 4 players 💞so I Love this Game it is like I have real Players💞.

I wrote this review because it was fun to play it, now you have changed it and it doesn’t look the same or play the same It is awful and I Hate it. please please fix it back again

Update:
So I enjoyed playing Canasta until I realized some users have found a way to cheat. If they see that they are about to loose- they simply exit the game/ so far two users that are top players in this game have done this!! There should be a way for them not to play this way- if they leave the table it shouldn’t go to a tie but a forfeit to the other player!!

I really enjoy playing on Canasta. Could someone explain the info for the high scores? I really don’t understand what I’m looking at? It says “18” under my name and others 5487 or a different number. Also it has percentage. Not 100% sure what this info is. Keep fixing bugs and I’ll keep playing :)

It is great. Most of the players play fast.
What ruins the game is the people who let the timer go all the way down when they are losing. It happens very frequently.

Also the match history and statistics links do not populate most of the time.

A suggestion is an option for fast play.
Certainly slow play is for beginners, I get that but many of us are not beginners. If you set up for advanced players the game should be speedier.

How about a way for players to interact?

Better yet why does BLOCKING a player not work? I block slow playing people and the VERY NEXT DAY they are a buddy and I have to block them again. People let the timer go to yellow before even drawing a card. Block should BLOCK the person unless I unblock them.

I do not care for your new this app game. The cards are too small and extremely difficult to read. I can’t even play this new style game as I can’t see the numbers in the discard pile. Please restore the old game. This one is useless to me and I’m sure to several others Why you changed it without any warning is not a thoughtful thing to do to its millions of users of the older version. Thank you. Linda Olson
