Today i did a class project with PureGPS and for some it worked. Some stood on the pin that it called for and were nowhere close to it. Others said it was 10 miles away. One person said the coordinate was in cuba! Please fix! And it also was not very accurate in telling me how far away i was from the waypoint. I would stop moving, and the distance would keep counting down and floundering back and forth. It would be worth at least 4 stars if it didnt tell people to walk to cuba!

This is the ONLY free app I've found which tells me my current latitude and longitude in a simple way, as well as allowing me to save them for waypoint averaging. It doesn't do much, but what it does, it does well.

PureGPS is great. One improvement for the CodeBurners team to consider: PureGPS 's waypoint map is great for seeing our own location. The "Export Waypoints to Email" feature is very useful for informing someone else where you are. But, after emailing, the recipient often needs map DIRECTIONS. Most people use Google, Apple, or Bing maps when obtaining directions. Unfortunately, the format that arrives in Export email is not compatible with any of these standard direction-based tools, precluding the ability to cut and paste the coordinates into a direction-based App. Google requires the little "degree" character, for example (such a pain). If your "Export" format was compatible with these other direction tools, then a simple cut and paste would add significant utility to this already wonderful App.

A must-have app. Bookmark your home or hotel or campsite or wherever you need to return to, and relax in the knowledge that you can find your way back without needing Internet access. Wish list:
1) breadcrumbs, so you can retrace your path
2) a better way to organize bookmarked waypoints

It's a good free app. Use it while hunting waterfowl. Helps me return to a location once I've been there or I can drop a pin to navigate to an unknown location by pre visiting an area on the Maps.
My only complaint is the "too small navigation arrow " and that it doesn't give a "bearing" in degrees that I could use with another compass. App could also use the current navigation arrow if it enlarged once tapped. 4 stars.

I had 5 or 6 GPS spot marking apps I used for hunting. Not any more. This is the only one I use now. No unnecessary bells and whistles. Just add your current waypoint and rename it to whatever you want. My friends insist on carrying those bulky Garmins. This one fits in my shirt pocket for quick access. I pull my iPhone out, mark and rename my waypoint and I am ready for the next time I want to hunt there.

This is a great app on the water. I have my favorite fishing spots and once I have them marked as waypoints, PureGPS takes me right back to them. On a large lake it would be difficult to find otherwise. An improvement would be an adjustable audible alarm to indicate when approaching the waypoint without having to constantly look at the phone.

I downloaded several apps hoping to find one with coordinate capability, several downloads later I find one that is absolutely positively way better than anything else on Apple App Store. This free GPS will let you put in DIFFERENT waypoints and save them. All the features actually work and they work well as far as I can tell. I haven't had the chance to test PureGPS fully but first thing tomorrow I'm going out to the woods. Finally an App that meets all my needs out here off grid

Free GPS is pretty dang simple, and that's what I like about it. Easy to enter your current waypoint. Font size is very easy to read. I use both standard and metric between work and personal life, so the update to metric is helpfull. I will be contacting the developer to add one desired feature, current speed. I have Gala and a few others, but for most of my location questions I only need a minimal amount of information. It does what I need it to do and has a small footprint. Pretty much a no naggy, wonderfully basic app. Basic is a compliment.

We recently bought 20 wooded acres and wanted to find the Survey markers. We tried several Free and Paid apps , they didn't work well and were hard to use.
We tried PureGPS and it took us to within 20 ft of the survey markers.
We simply typed in the latitude and longitude settings and took us to them
A GREAT App.
I Highly Recommend it.

The best program ever for iPhone, I use it to identify places and start from and to in the Sahara in Africa, but I wish that the application has a quick search feature using letters for access points that I have stored in the application .. But it remains the best application in accuracy and easier in use.
