Since a few updates ago, this app no longer opens. I’ll get a weather or breaking news notification, click on it and it either won’t open at all or just give a loading screen. I normally only use this for the weather radar and random breaking news. That’s it. No daily news, no sports, not even the forecast. Just the radar. Generally it is the most accurate. I still get useless notifications like “rain will begin in 27 minutes”. Really? Been raining for hours but hey thanks! Or It will tell me every 20 minutes or so and nothing happens at all. Or during storms that have been raging for a while, it will send that something is about to start. Rain/wind/snow doesn’t matter. And there is no way to turn that off. If I get a rare notification I may actually want to see and click on it, it takes me to a totally different part of the app. Since the last update it won’t even open up. If it does, half of it is missing. The old app pre-updated version in 2021 was great. Then they decided to make it new. Since then it has been a disaster. Have been hesitant to delete it outright as storm season is coming up, but when I just went to open a breaking news story about a 5 alarm fire going on in the area, it wouldn’t open at all. The hesitation is now gone.

Downloaded this app with the specific intent of watching the St. Patrick’s Day parade today that my son is marching in. The app gave me nothing but repeat the commercials for Honda and Zyrtec. if you say you’re going to live stream you should make sure that it works. Really annoying I wasted 45 minutes hoping that each time I reloaded that it would work properly and lo and behold and just replayed the same commercials over and over again. This is really sad and embarrassing for whomever is in charge of this. The app is poorly laid out, hard to navigate, and obviously doesn’t work as advertised. And as an added bonus, the app never Exit properly. Are usually have to swipe up and hard close the app instead of being able to back out and move on to something else.

I really wish I could turn off all notifications for sports. I Sports is not a option in the “News Alerts” tab and while Olympics is, I *still* get notifications for it. It’s pretty frustrating to get sports and olympics notifications when I really could not care less. I can’t turn off notifications for the app because I *do* care about getting notifications for NYC news stories because I actually care about those. Good app, otherwise.
