No one ever replies to my emails for one thing. Second, I rarely get push notifications. The emails come to iMailG but no ringtone! I paid for iMailG so this is very frustrating!

iMailG itself is good, but support is non-existent. Emails aren’t answered, and webpage is of limited help. I’ve used this for years, but time to dump it. Save your $.

I have been using this application for years. It has always been my favorite for Gmail. Now, all of a sudden, the reviews are all missing has been reset to zero. I know why. I’m sure tons of people, like myself, have now written horrible reviews.
Recently I have been deluged with advertisements that pop up and take over the whole screen. I can get rid of them if I pay more money, but don’t wish to continue to pay more. And I don’t wish to change the way the application was, as I was not paying to get rid of these ads.. Also every time I turn it on and try to change the font to something reasonable, it tells me that I can’t use this action unless I dismiss it or pay to use that all the time. Changing the font? Really? That is where they want to make her stand on the word to charge you or make you dismiss the entire thing every time?
Although it has been a great application until now, I will just go back and use the Gmail application which is free and still a great one.

I really liked iMailG until I realized I was being nickel and dimed for everything. They say iMailG is free, but there's so much stuff you have to buy it makes it almost worthless unless you buy that stuff. You have to pay to be able to pinch the screen. I'm not running for my glasses everytime I want to use iMailG. Why are they charging for that? I still can't figure out how to send a photo, but I suspect that's something I have to pay for, too. The last straw for me was I get a message that says I can hide the shopping cart icon in settings. I went to settings and selected off, but it was still there. The next thing I get is a notice telling me that I can get rid of the shopping cart icon if I buy just one thing. I ended up deleting it. This is the second time I've deleted iMailG. I hoped they had made it better, but nothing's really changed for the better.

The thing that sold me on iGmail is that it is much faster than loading gmail in safari. And, while it is a little slower than the native mail app it is worth it to be able to use all of gmail's native features. Also igmail's push is great and FAST.
Finally, I must tell you that support for igmail is fantastic and immediate - I had a problem with push (it turned out that it was my mistake) and someone responded to my email within minutes -and stayed with me until the problem was resolved.
If you're looking for the fastest way to use gmail and take advantage of all the great things about it, igmail is definitely the way to go, and you can't beat the price.

EDIT:
This is an update to an earlier 1-star review (now a 4-star review).
The developer is incredibly quick and helpful in replying to emailed concerns - a BIG plus!
As to my problem, I had my Gmail acct configured in this iGmail app, and had my wife's Gmail acct configured into the iPhone's built-in email settings. (We did this so our unread email push notifcation #s would remain separate.) When I saved a draft in iGmail, it saved that to the acct configured in the iPhone's built-in email (which was my wife's acct). Then, when I returned to iGmail to send the draft, it actually was sending it from my wife's acct. I didn't realize this until the recipient replied to my wife, asking why my email came from her acct.
The developer explained this as a result of the limitations of the original Google API used. And he assured me that now that this was brought to their attention that a fix would be worked on for an upcoming release.
I'm quite pleased with everything else iMailG does, and now that I have been reassured that any emails sent via iGmail will indeed originate from my Gmail acct (as long as they're not resumed drafts), I'm happy to give iMailG 4-stars!
JUST BEWARE OF SAVING DRAFTS if you have a different Gmail acct configured in the built-in iPhone/iPod email settings!

This is a great application for all of the Gmail fans out there. It's good for those who do not like the iPhones built in email system. The iGmail app. is easy to use and has a superb interface. Once you get it you won't want to use email on your personal computer again. The only concern is that you cannot add contacts with iMailG . You have to log on to your personal account off of another computer in order to add contacts. Also, there isn't a way to save your signature like you can on the internet version. Other than these few inconvienances I recommend iMailG to any Gmail fans that have an iPhone. I rate it a 4 out of 5 stars for the very reason that you cannot add contacts.

There are a lot of things involved with iMailG. The thing I didn't get at first was everything is there. You just have to realize how to use it. Like any good apple product. It's not difficult you just have to understand how to use it. This is a very well thought out app. It accomplishes a lot of functions that google should have and that's saying a lot. The developer is out in front of everyone with iMailG. You really should try it, then buy it. After exploring all the functions and features iMailG has traded places with my mail icon at the bottom of my screen. That's the best compliment I can give. The ONLY problem I can see is the push notifications. They charge for this service. And it ain't cheap. I am a pretty tough reviewer and very rarely give 5 stars but iMailG deserves it save for one problem, push. Give us push or AT LEAST a badge telling us about new mail and I would say 5 stars all the way! Great job!

I first purchased Gmail Push which worked pretty well but iGmail works much better. iGmail is more expensive but for email which I use so much it is worth the price. iGmail and Gmail Push both do offline messages and push well. Gmail Push has a bug that brings up a dialog box every time you move the cursor and this was really annoying. iGmail does not have this bug. As well iGmail has an on screen display that jumps to the top or bottom of the page, back or forward very easily. Works well with Google Apps too. Overall I am very happy with iMailG . I wish Google could release a version themselves, rather than the web versions plus push that all of these third parties are doing -it would have offline search, a deep cache of messages for offline reading or viewing, and would load faster than these HTML5 versions. Is that what is available on Andr0id? Until that happens this one works well for me.

I was using the iPhone mail feature to receive my emails but I noticed it didn't have features like instant push and the appearance was just dull. I decided to look for a gmail app and found this one. Overall it's a great app and the push feature is really fast!!! I like the choices of ringtone alerts and whenever you receive a new email it notifies just like receiving a text message and you can set a time to disable push alerts around your schedule. No one likes the midnight or 4 am emails. It is $1.99 for a year of push or $3.99 through 2011. It would have gave it a perfect 5 stars BUT you have to pay $1.99 to use the zoom and pinch ability which should be free and the icon is kind of ugly. I hope they change it to maybe an envelop with a "G" in it. Bottom line i spent a total of $4.00 to get the BEST GMAIL APP and i replaced my old email icon with this one. I hope this review helps you out.

Last two versions have been awful! I reverted back two versions to 7.6.2, I believe it is and I love iMailG again! Thank goodness I held onto the older version because I would've stopped using iMailG otherwise. I didn't like the new interface and it became very slow, I hated the yellow banner that said what account I was logged into almost every time I entered iMailG - I only have one account configured so having that pop up was completely unnecessary and annoying. It wasn't registering my read emails and I kept having to refresh or it would just randomly unmark a message as read at random. The fade in effect was another feature that I found unnecessary and just seemed to make it feel even more slow. I was, thankfully, able to get rid of all of these issues by reverting iMailG . It works great the way it is, does everything I need it to do and I don't plan on updating again. If it ain't broke...

All attempts to use iMailG to read email are now met with an error that “this browser is unable to log into Gmail due to lack of JavaScript” or something to that effect. In other words, iMailG seems to have died. Used it for nearly a decade before it died. :-(

I find this app is my favorite email app. I especially like that you can search for a specific mail; search for all instances of that mail; then Select All and easily file them.
Over the the past year iMailG hasn’t worked well consistently. I wasn’t able to access developer support to address the problem.
Well … recently the developer has been very responsive ~~ iMailG works beautifully. Yay!

I previously used mobile me, but switched to Gmail because it was free and offered the same features. The free AppGmail iPhone app is okay if you have a WiFi internet connection, but is slow on 3G. The iGmail app is the best solution for the Gmail user. It is native on the iPhone, which means that you do not need to have connection to the internet in order to use iMailG. Alternatively, you will need internet connect to use AppGmail. In short, iGmail makes email fun again.
***Idemfactor Solutions --> You asked for recommendations. I have one for you. Please, please, PLEASE (pretty please) bring Google Calendar and Tasks to this application. Thank you!

I have a few gmail accounts I use and was disappointed to learn the Google app only manages 1 email address, which sent me looking. Found iMailG and it does nearly everything I need very well. Multiple gmail accounts are accessible via a simple drop down list. Other google apps for each account are accessible as well. The email app is feature rich and works well. I have not noticed any scrolling issue mentioned here. The only thing I don't like is the way push must work, either via a web service they provide or with software installed on your computer. But I am sure this is a Google limitation. The ads are not in the way but I will pay to remove them to show support. Great app all around.

A little clunky at first getting used to it, but have really grown to like it. I upgraded to the Plus add-on (the ads are super annoying). Some of the settings in the Plus version settings are not super intuitive, but I eventually figured out what the settings did and they're great. I also love how iMailG gives my gmail messages the ability to add attachments. Some of the other gmail webmail apps don't give you that. Also happy with the multiple account login. I'm logging into multiple accounts via the gmail interface (inside of iMailG ) as opposed to iMailG settings itself and it keeps me signed in to those other accounts an its easy to switch accounts too. All in all, pretty happy!

Now i wonder what your next move will be since Gmail App has just gotten the notification center support.
I love this app for its diligence in updating constantly and bringing the quality services. iMailG was worth every penny literally.
But now that Gmail App supports notification center too, and has the ability to attach files, which this app still can't, I wonder what you guys will do to win customers over again.
What I truly wish is the stable Gtalk service integration that runs 24/7 in the bakground and provides push notification without having to keep iMailG running or signing in repeatedly.
If you guys can add the ability to attach files in gmail and add Gtalk with stable push notification, iMailG will be absolutrly invincible.

I use Google Gmail, Google Voice, and Google Buzz on an ongoing basis. iMailG provides a powerful and simple solution for all these Google products and so many more. I'm constantly amazed at what my iPhone can do with this little app. It's been a unifying factor in my daily routines. Recently I purchased their PUSH notification for 2010 ($4.99) and subsequently didn't realize I had to update my info in the system preferences. One contact to their customer support and I had a response within 2 minutes! TWO MINUTES. That's unheard of in the world of app support. I was able to get my problem fixed within minutes and the whole thing was very simple. Thanks, guys, for making AND SUPPORTING such a great product.

I have been using iMailG for 2 years now and I really like it. But I have to manage two gmail accounts, one for work and my personal account. It's no problem logging into two accounts but the badge notification icon doesn't tell me if I have an email in my other account that I don't have open in the current app window. So I constantly have to manually open iMailG and check my other account. If you could update it so the badge icon shows the number of unread messages for both accounts that would take iMailG to the next level.
Also, when we attach a file it would be nice to be able to choose a picture from current photo or choose to take a new photo. Just a thought. Still the best gmail app around!!

I had a job where receiving emails as quick as possible was essential. I picked up my shifts through a google group my job set up for us to cover each other's absences. This system worked great, but only if you got those emails first. 80 sets of anxious fingers were waiting with baited breath for a chance to tap reply and, even though I have my fancy smart phone and even though I waste a ton of battery pushing my notifications, I still never seemed to get the emails quick enough and therefore never got the shifts. With iMailG and the push for a year add on I bought- I am always the first. When I open those emails they say "sent 0 minutes ago" I get all the good shifts now. I could not be more satisfied. Yes there are minor bugs, but I just use my regular mail app that came on my phone for whatever this one can't handle (which isn't much) What I bought it for it does flawlessly. Thank you this app.

Let me start with the good: iMailG is fantastic. I have probably used every gmail app in iMailG store and this one is without a doubt the most innovative in it's features. The ghost buttons are genius... I can push a button to get to the 'reply' button at the bottom instead of having to scroll for 5 minutes. Thank you for fixing something gmail should've fixed long ago!!! Offline support is fantastic and push seems to work fine for me.
Areas for improvement: needs some bug fixes. Sometimes it shows me as having one unread message even though I definitely do not. Push is a little slower than other apps which doesn't bother me but will bother some.
The bottom line: these developers have something all the other gmail app developers have not had to date: creativity. The ghost buttons are so useful it is not even funny and they are a very innovative solution to several common annoyances. This creativity is why I believe iMailG will come to be the best gmail app for the iPhone. I look forward to more features and bug fixes!
One more thing: go back to the old icon... That "apps" thing is really stupid.
