What's better than watching your friends conquer the most beautiful climbs? Right, cheering them on! From now on it is possible in the app to reward their best rides with a "Bravo!".
When connected to Garmin, Strava, Suunto or Wahoo we analyse all you rides and we make a list of all your climbs based on those rides in the past.
A personal profile with all your climbs, times, challenges, jerseys and stories.
Because we use real climbs, the Jersey ones are of course much more special and often even epic.
All climbs are provided with a detailed profile, length, height difference, average gradient, region, country, starting point and end point on a map.
When completing all the climbs which are part of the Jersey you get a cool virtual Jersey in your trophy cabinet.
We even update your profile automatically based on your new rides and climbs.
You even get a message when you conquer some new climbs or made a new personal best time.
You can make a list of climbs you still want to conquer.
You can search through a list of 8000 famous and less famous climbs in our app.

iCols is a well designed app and has an impressive database of climbs (cols) mostly in Europe. It's a unique resource in that regard. I fear, however, that myCols has stagnated, having not been updated since the end of 2009. It is definitely in need of some work in the following areas:
- Update for iOS4 to take advantage of backgrounding/fast app switching. Currently it just restarts upon return to foreground :(
- Higher resolution icon and graphics for the iPhone 4 retina display.
- Integrate with social networks. Would be cool to share cols/routes I'm looking at with Facebook or Twitter.
- Crowdsourcing! Add a user submitted section so that iCols users can add new climbs to the database via app or website.
- Offline mode. iCols will simply not function without a network connection. Being able to save climbs for offline use just makes sense.

To start with the positives, the number of included cols and the way it shows the length and gradient for each is awesome. Unfortunately, there is no mode that lets you browse through the cols in the database. You have to rely on the search function and hoping that the col you are looking for is in the database. Additionally, the database of cols has not been updated since purchasing myCols. Also, navigating through myCols pulls from your data plan as the col profiles are not downloaded onto the phone. This has the potential to be a great app, but some reconstruction is necessary.
