Very IMPRESSIVE free App!

I read the Habit Factor Book & decided TheHabitFactor was my next step in helping me improve on a couple specific habits. TheHabitFactor has become my daily addiction!

Easy walk-thru wizard to setup at the start, tips & tricks are very useful and I love the “quotes” upon start up.

TheHabitFactor follows a proven method called P.A.R.R. (in the book) Plan, Act, Record & Reassess. That’s why TheHabitFactor works!

This habit tracking app has really helped me implement POSITIVE habits.

Being that I can only track 1 “active” goal with the Lite version…I’ll be purchasing the Pro version for UNLIMITED active goals/habits. Can’t wait!

Very good app

The lite version was great - included all the features I needed to see that it's suitable for what I wanted to do - so I purchased the full version. Thanks!
TheHabitFactor is very intuitive and simple enuf to use every day. It provides a great way to think about high level goals u want to achieve and the specific habits u need to develop to allow u to meet the goals. I also like the way single habits can feedultiple goals. The only mod I'd suggest is to have the overall reporting include credit for doing an item even if the time period doesn't include a target date for that habit. U get credit for it on the habit page, but not on the summary.

more room for improvement

I want buy the full version and really want to love TheHabitFactor but I figure that the Overview generate graph feature is not suitable for my needs. I like to see an overview of my habit in a calendar view so that I can see which day I have missed and which day I have succeed. But, the percentage is weird... for example, "How many percent progress have I succeed in doing situp?" Let says, "67%". How do I make use with the 67%? It cant help me to find out why I missed the rest of 33%. And when the End Date due, I feel defeated bcos only achieve 67%. But if it is monthly view, I can troubleshoot why I didnt perform situp on particular day or if it happen on every wednesday (for exp) then I can troubleshoot it (maybe there is distraction) I can see the habit of my habit. If developers get what I mean.

So, the percentage and end date is not useful.

Good app, and btw that is not Jesus at startup

I've tried a few other goal tracking apps and this one seems just as good for the basics as others that cost a few bucks. It serves the purpose but isn't amazingly better. Makes me wonder what I'm missing in the paid version but I'm not excited about the cost of the full version. If you just want something to keep track of goals, this will do fine.
For those wondering about the figures shown at startup, it isn't Jesus but it is Aristotle and Plato, taken from a famous painting by Raphael called "School of Athens". Wikipedia has good info on the painting.

Read this first.

I didn't like it. I am not sure how the full version could cost $6.99. I guess they know suffering humans are so eager for change that they jump right in and make the purchase--kind of like joining a gym or buying some ridiculous piece of exercise equipment advertised on late-night TV.

The instructions say it's "not about counting." For example, if you want to drink eight glasses of water a day, you can't put in a check each time you drink a glass of water. You need to somehow keep track of the number of times you drink a glass of water throughout the day and then put in ONE check when you are done. So, I guess you need another app to keep track throughout the day. The creators of TheHabitFactor pretty much TELL YOU what you are supposed to want to do rather than try to figure out what you'll want and then give it to you. You would need to basically buy in to their plan for you if you are going to use TheHabitFactor. Their plan for you seems rather counter-intuitive.

Also, they clearly spent NO time working on the directions! Be prepared to figure it out yourself!

I am looking at using my iPhone calendar to track progress.

Very Good App. But.....

Let me say that Iphone reviewers are some of the toughest critics in the world. If you can make it on itunes you can make it anywhere!

I tried the free version and I thought it was good (which is why I gave it 4 stars).

However I actually purchased Touch Goal for $3.99 because it has more features. It was a hard debate because I like the focus here on Goals and Habbits and how they break them down into two different categories for tracking, where as Touch Goal kind of blends them in together. That alone almost made me buy the full version of the habit factor. But Touch Goals many features and ease of use won out. Touch Goal also gets high marks from reviewers for quick tech support response.

The interface for Habit Factor is plain and blahhhh. Touch Goal is really really sweet to look at and use. This alone increases the usability for me.

A nice try, but there's better.

The developer means the best, but TheHabitFactor is kludgy, complex, and ugly--great design for a 2008-era app, not for 2012. There's better available. I use both "Way of Life" and "Ritual" every morning and evening, quickly and with great results.

I started with TheHabitFactor before I found the others, so I'm grateful, particularly because the quotations are so spot-on. As part of my morning routine, I still open TheHabitFactor and read two or three quotes for motivation.

I don't mean to harsh on the developer, but let the competitive marketplace force developers to update their apps to make them user-friendly. TheHabitFactor has an ugly interface and takes too long time to navigate (too much tapping).

Instant frustration

I was excited to try out TheHabitFactor… And it seemed promising as I read the instructions. However, I was instantly frustrated when I tried to input my first goal. I had to pause a few times in the middle of filling in the details for my first goal, and each time my phone went into screensaver mode, TheHabitFactor would close and I would lose everything that I entered. Usually, when this happens, when you unlock your phone again, TheHabitFactor will remain in the same place so you can pick up where you left off. This happened about three times in a row (I have a baby, there are lots of distractions in my house) and by that time I got so frustrated I just deleted TheHabitFactor .

Loved it, but hoping for improvement!!!

I upgraded TheHabitFactor to pro, but I cannot write a review in the pro section :(. So far, I love TheHabitFactor. However, I wish that my goals/habit can be categorize in religious, work, ect... Moreover, it'll be better if my goal/habit have an option to list in alphabetical order. Most of all, I hope that the interface can be better with more themes and an option to setup a password.

It helps!

I downloaded 4 different habit shaping apps and consider this one the best. I love the quotes and the different ways of displaying your progress. I just wish one wouldn't have to generate the graphic progress report first but rather that TheHabitFactor displays it by itself. And yes, the looks of TheHabitFactor could definitely be nicer.

User

This is a great way to track the habits you want to complete each day, week, etc.
The detailed instruction guide is very helpful, & is the main reason I chose to use TheHabitFactor . After using the lite version for a week, I plan to purchase the full version! (You can only track 3 habits at once on the lite version)

It works! Helping me reach my goals!!

i check TheHabitFactor every morning to keep me on track. The note section is great as I can write encouraging affirmations. I'm working out and reading more because of TheHabitFactor. It helps me build discipline. Get it!!

Broken

I really wanted to love TheHabitFactor. I compared the other two lite versions of the big habit tracker apps - daily tracker and touch goal - and for me this one was the best fit. Simple but customizible without being overly fussy or cumbersome. Unfortunately TheHabitFactor just stopped working. Quits on start up. Glad I didn't pay for it. If it worked, it might be worth it.

Jesus

I love TheHabitFactor , but does anyone else see Jesus on startup?

Great App for Personal or Business Improvement

I love TheHabitFactor!! The idea that the key to success - the key to reaching a goal - is the set the appropriate HABIT and track the HABITS! TheHabitFactor keeps me honest to the habits, and consequently helps me drive to my goals! Thanks for creating this useful concept and tool. Cheers!

Crashing relentlessly

Very frustrated. App crashes and crashes and crashes. Sometimes can't keep it open for 15-30 seconds before it crashes again. I've used it without crashing before, and seems like a useful app. But it needs patching. Don't download until update it for current iOS (7.1.x) or later is my recommendation.

Full version not worth the price

Well done on design and concept, but ultimately not worth paying the 7bucks for the full version. Inspirational quotes are mostly trite - putting up some truly helpful instructions and quotes would be a big improvement.

Repackaged same old thing

I've seen the developers keep putting what's basically the same old thing out over and over again. This happened with the old one, and now they've gone and put a "2" behind it and are trying to say it's different and improved. They do minor tweaks but make no real changes to TheHabitFactor so it doesn't appear to be abandonware. Deleted.

Great update

Thank you THF. Really enjoying TheHabitFactor and sharing with friends. Keep up the good work. Was hoping to see some of this come through in update.

Glad had chance to try before buying

I was looking at this and am glad that I was able to try it first as I found that it is not suited to my needs. I find Touch Goal is easier and provides a clearer way to track my goals and habits.
