The graphics are awful. You can't even turn the tablet to change the orientation; it's stuck in portrait mode. Does not reinforce learning or teach in an engaging way. It is basically an outdated way of checking what your child already knows or trying to teach with "drill and kill" by telling them they're getting it wrong. Do not waste your child's valuable screen time on TeachMe. Just pick up a set of cheap flashcards at the store; they'll be better off.

Now that I’m allowing my child to have more screen time, I’m realizing that I can’t provide support to her with TeachMe because there are no captions for instructions. I have to ask her what is being said.

The idea of the game is great and I love that you can track achievement, but, it is a little boring and fails to reinforce the right answer well enough. The correct answer should attain more than a tiny green check mark and the same amount of monotone verbalization after as the incorrect answer. Ideally the correct answer would, once pressed pop up as the sole picture on the screen describing it and then say for example "you found the circle, great job!!!" A toddler is just gathering this information and doesn't associate with a tiny green check mark as "winning" for a lack of a better word. The game has a really, well lame narration. It sounds more choppy and more monotone than an AT&T operator from 1987.

Love TeachMe but the sound stopped working on all the levels I have downloaded. So can’t use it.

I would rate this at least 4 stars if it weren't for the ridiculous font style. Our childen will never be taught to write their letters in the font style chosen for TeachMe, so why teach them to recognize the letters in this font style, especially as an introduction to the letter. The style chosen is Times New Roman which teaches "g" as a circle on top, an oval on the bottom connected by a small curved line, or the "a", which is taught just as you see here. This is just some of the examples. Our children will not be taught this way in school so why teach them it now? This can be very confusing for young minds. Nowadays they are usually taught the D'Nealian style of writing which helps them into cursive writing later. Why not choose that instead? One other problem I can see is the sounds on some letters are not clear enough, as an example: the sound "v" makes and the sound "b" makes is very much the same.

Well done. As others have said my child likes getting the stickers. And I like how the mouse tells you want the wrong answer is so my child can learn even with the wrong answer. My suggestion would be if there were an option to could choose the categories instead of it being randomly generated all the time. Then I could choose numbers, or shapes or letters to for my child to learn.

These app is perfect for being able to customize what you want your toddler to be learning. This is the only truly educational app that my 2 year old enjoys playing. He often chooses TeachMe over the ones themed after his favorite tv shows, which of you knew my son, you'd know that in itself is amazing! I love that I could customize it so he is currently working on his abc's and colors only, and when he gets a bit older we can add counting and phonics to the mix. I also adjusted it so he gets a sticker after each correct answer instead of every third, as to be sure it will hold his attention. He loves rearranging the stickers on the different backgrounds. TeachMe is an absolute steal at 99 cents! I really can't think of anything negative to say about it!

We have a lot of educational apps on our iphone but my daughter always goes to this one first. I think she is motivated by the speed in which she gets to collect fun stickers, and it's simple and easy for her to understand. I set the option to get the reward after answering three questions correctly so it keeps her entertained while learning all of her shapes, colors and letters very quickly. We have been surprised to see her pointing out and saying, "octagon" or "rectangle" and identifying the alphabet letters more now. Hope you come out with an app that teaches letter sounds soon!

Cuts out the fluff and the time consuming stuff other apps have, but still manages to be fun! I recommend 10-20 minutes a day. My 3 year old is already half way through the kindergarten one now!! Thank you!! He loves it and asks to play it, I never have to force him or my other students to play it.

My daughter is 3 turning 4 in march 2018. I wanted to use technology to our advantage and I think this is TeachMe . It forces her to listen to the instructions...she will click the teacher a couple of times to make sure she got the instructions which I think is so cool. And it covers all areas/counting, abcs, shapes, and sounding out letters. I know after seeing her interact with TeachMe that her struggle is in phonics so I will be investing in phonics for her.

This is great - I'm a mom to 3 and a primary school teacher and I recommend TeachMe!
The adjustable setting for adult and ability to see what child has done is priceless. The speech is clear and you can "repeat" as needed. The variety or randomness is nice- if a child doesn't like on subject they still get practice without having to face a bunch of questions in a row. The kids love the stickers! I like being able to adjust how many questions before reward.
I would suggest they fix where they can put the stickers - occasionally they end up behind a button and you can move it again- which causes some fraustration to my 4 year old but he is learning to not put them in those spots - so I'm not marking down my rating for that. I really have nothing "con" to say about this app: pre-school. It is a great learning tool for all you kids and older ones struggling with basic skills! And it's fun too!

This is a fantastic app. My 4 year old granddaughter is having trouble with learning letters due to ADHD. TeachMe with the reward stickers has been just what she needed. I set the reward to 3 correct answers to get the sticker to start with. As she has progressed I have raised it to 5. She is still just as excited about playing to get that sticker. My 3 year old grandson knows his letters and he is now learning numbers and how to count with TeachMe. As they progress we will turn the phonics on and let them learn letter sounds. I like that I can choose the levels to suit their abilities, turn features on and off to allow more study of some things than others, & the fact that they just think it's fun. I wish I had had something like this 30 years ago when my son with ADHD was learning these things. Thanks for a great app.

TeachMe is a hit in our house with 3 year old twins. I'm often asked for "the mouse game"! As an Instructional Designer, I build Web Based Training for a living and I absolutely love the this app apps. They are well done and very engaging. I like that each of the kids can have their own "account" and I can see their individual progress. The stickers are a fun reward for the kids. We also have the this app Kindergarten app for the oldest, who is in Kindergarten. I can't wait for the optimized iPad app!

This is a great compliment to what my son learns in daycare. We started this when he was 4. I like that it is not a game app. The format is Lessons. My son gets the concept that when it is lesson time he concentrates a bit more. The question and answer format is great. It might bore some younger kids or parents don't like this format. I like the reward system that I can customize and my son likes it when he completes an entire section. He gets a medal. It is fairly extensive so he notices that it is a long ways and there is the satisfaction he got there with the medal. I like this concept at this age. I look forward to the kindergarten, first grade, and second grade versions. For price, can't beat it. Ease so use for me and my son is great. The lady's voice is also pleasing.

The Teach Me apps work perfectly for Discrete Trial Training (DTT). The settings allow therapists to disable all but the target response. For example if teaching uppercase letter "A" you can disable lowercase and all other uppercase letters. TeachMe then randomly generates 3 unknown letters and the child learns to discriminate letter "A" in a field of 4.
TO THE DEVELOPERS: I work primarily with children on the autism spectrum. PLEASE make more of these apps!! May I suggest household items (ex:"Find the chair" or "Find the fork"). Also pets/ farm animals would be appreciated. If you upgraded to uncluttered photos displaying the object against a single colored background and have a SLP from "Smart Apps for Special Needs" review, you could charge $5.99 US. It would be well worth it to therapists!

I got TeachMe when I was 3 or 4 years old and it probably has changed my perspective on the world

I have tried all of the programs and apps out there (Starfall, SplashMath, the “Endless” series, ABC Mouse, etc...). Hands down, these apps surpass them all. This series is a hidden gem.
It works for both of my children, who both possess very different learning styles. The intuitive repetition processes involved on these apps serve as a perfect source of non-monotonous drill activities. Kids answer drill-like questions in a friendly, non-flashy or distracting virtual environment in these apps. When they reach a certain goal, (set by the adult) the user is given a choice to earn stickers (in the Pre-K app) or coins (found in the apps for older kiddos) that can be used to purchase items from the virtual store. So basically, this is an incentive-based app.
There are NO annoying adds and the included material is safe. I’ve never experienced one single problem with any of these apps in the 3+ years I’ve had them for the kids. I love that I can either incorporate the material they’ve mastered in with new/challenging stuff, or I can optionally remove material they solidly comprehend (so they can solely focus on novel material).
I can also raise the threshold by which they earn their virtual incentives, which is so cool.
To give you an idea about TeachMe ’s effectiveness, I’ll give you two real examples:
My son just finished 1st grade on May 25th. He started up with the “Teach Me Mathematics” app in this series on June 1st to supplement with summer math. Today is June 13th, and he’s solidly mastered all of the addition facts from 0+0 to 6+12...all of them... in less than two weeks...and the kiddo has learning differences.
My daughter is going into Kindergarten in the fall, and she is learning uppercase and lowercase letter names, letter phonemics (sounds), one-to-one counting, number labeling from 0-20, shapes, and colors. She has mastered shapes, colors, counting, and almost all of her number recognition from the initial app in the series: “Teach Me Pre-K”. She, too, has learning differences, and we started back with TeachMe two weeks ago.
Knowing what I know about the efficacy of these educational apps, I’d likely pay 4x the amount for this wonderfully executed series. Big thanks to the developers, 24x7digital LLC...you guys have made a big difference in my kids’ lives! 🙌🏽😄💓
And I never write reviews..but other folks just need to know how great these apps truly are!

This is easily the best educational app series for kids. There is no other app in the same ballpark as this one. Brilliant design for teaching my 2 yr old how to learn phonics. Suddenly he knows shapes like diamonds, trapezoids, octagons on site and gets them right every time. Even more brilliant is the way they gave the kids a prize every three correct questions similar to Monkey's preschool lunchbox. Even more brilliant than that is that each learning category progressively gets hardeinalterable every 25 correct answers in each category in slow increments of increasing difficulty. And it was only a dollar!! My two year old also jumps on the kindergarten version instead of the toddler version that he normally likes. He is showing noticeable improvements in math and guessing the correct words. My only advice for the developer is to make better stickers or add some new ones periodically. I am guessing that boredom from the rewards will eventually be the reason my sons quit playing.

TeachMe is awesome. It targets the basics and does it well. It doesn't try to do too much. And it is not obnoxious with constant music and over the top noises as with other similar apps. The updates have brought great improvement (like allowing us to see the student's mastery of the various topics) and best of all are included in that one price. I'd like to see the same type of app that covers other preschool concepts, such as opposites, groupings, relativity (big, small, same...), and location (top, bottom, inside...). I'll definitely be getting the kindergarten app next!

What child doesn't like tablets or smartphones these days?! I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old who both enjoy playing on my electronics, so I love having educational apps at my fingertips.
What stands out with TeachMe is the progress report on each child's profile and the ability to turn letters, numbers, shapes on/off based on development!
A feature I would love to see is a more detailed progress report based on a time range. It would be very beneficial to select a day to see progress of "learned" on day 1 vs "learned" on day 30.
