A waste of $2

2024-12-16

Not simple to use at all.

Bad update

2024-12-16

Loses entries, freezes and s-l-O-w.....very slow to save. Wasted money...:(

This Appv Should Be Free!

2024-12-16

DO NOT PAY FOR iFoodDiary. It's only a notepad app. When the other reviews say "this is a simple app", listen they are completely correct. I thought there would be more functionality to iFoodDiary, especially at $4.99. Even $1 for iFoodDiary is too much due to the availabilty of other apps with more functionality, iFoodDiary has no functionality. If there will be updates to provide more functionality, then wait before you buy, that may cause the developers to develop a better product. Remember to vote with your dollars and don't buy iFoodDiary (yet).

Buggy App :(

2024-12-16

I've checked for updates on iFoodDiary but it's just buggy as is. It sometimes closed in the middle of inputting an entry and consistently froze every time I emailed a report (I'd have to exit iFoodDiary to leave the "send email" view screen). Also saw performance slow down once I amassed a large amount of info in my Logs.

Another big issue - once info is exported, data improperly mapped out in CVS. You'd have to spend time to correct cells every time you export.

Other cons - inconsistent spell check assistance, unclear character caping in each value field, special characters seemed to trigger incorrect data export into CSV, unable to edit labels and/or add your own (for example I'd like to also keep track when I go to sleep and when I wake up).

iFoodDiary has a long way to go before it's even worth $0.99.

Needs improvement..Not practical!

2024-12-16

I've been desperately searching for a nice food journal app where I can keep track of what I eat and drink everyday and I thought I found it here. However I've stopped using it because it's functionality just isn't practical. The entries don't save in any coherent order, they're difficult to view or reference, there's no place for beverages, and the list goes on. The fundamental idea is there but at this rate I'm better off writing my entries in a spiral notebook.

Major problems but still usefull

2024-12-16

I liked iFoodDiary the best out of all the food journals. Its simple and doesnt count calories or ask for too much info. The thing that will cause me to stop using it is the scrolling on the log section. It keeps bouncing back to the top so you cannot edit or view the most recent entries. I hope it gets fixed.
Just found another big problem- the entries are listed by the time in numerical value, not hour. My 1:00pm lunch is first and 9:00am breakfast is last.

Needs Refinement

2024-12-16

I saw the mixed reviews, but thought I'd still give iFoodDiary a try. It doesn't quite deliver on everything it promises. I was looking for a food diary of this type, one that enables you to list the foods eaten at particular times without the need for tracking calories or points. Entry input is still a bit awkward and the forms seemed a bit buggy at times. Yes, you can send your log to a nutritionist for review, but the log format is difficult to read.

OK but needs quicker entry format

2024-12-16

Like a diet, a diary should be relatively quick/easy to add to' meal journal'
For those of us who have meetings, etc and need a fast way to keep a daily food journal This isn't it.
It requires too much typing on the iphone when it would be easier to have a 'picker list' (that user could add-items to) so Mel type user picks: breakfast, Lunch, Brunch, Dinner snack, etc.
The easier it is to keep current the more likely hood it will be.

Needs updates

2024-12-16

I have an eating disorder an iFoodDiary has made life so much easier for me. I have to log what I eat and this keeps me from losing all those scraps of paper. However, I wish there was a way to add photos to entries because my idea of a serving isn't always a full serving. And I wish there was a hunger scale where each time I eat I could rate my level of hunger. And a weight chart. Yes, a weight chart. Even though I have an eating disorder, contrary to what common belief, if I don't keep track of my weight I can actually lose too much weight. So right now I'm using I'm just snapping photos of my plate, level of hunger goes in my notes, and I have another app for my weight chart and it sooo hard to find a weight tracker that would let me export to my therapist. It would be so awesome to have all in one. And right now it will only enter my weight as 500.0 to 500.9 and that's messed up. Needs updates. 5 stars when weight is fixed and new features are added.

Lacking some features

2024-12-16

Just got the product and started tracking. It works very easy but doesn't allow for portion size, quick selection of items and editing/deleting of an entry and probably more after I use it some more.

It's a good start to keep a log except if you put comma's in it like I did, they create extra columns when it is exported that cause columns to get miss aligned. example Lunch: I had Homemade turkey soup with sweet potatoes, celery, carots, onions, peppers and a little seasoning. When I exported the program to my PC and edited it with Excel it created those extra columns for each , Won't use comma's next time.

I think that this program will become much better as they get more feedback.

A few suggestions

2024-12-16

The diary serves the basic goal, which is allow a person to enter what they ate that day, which is said to be one of the most important things you can do for weight loss goals. However, there are no options such as giving as giving a day by day view (except for the report page). So when you enter your data, you are seing a large number of listings from the other days you have entered. This gives it a very crowded view. In addition, I would like to see more predictable writing, where common foods and drinks get filled in once you start typing the word. Finally, having a coloric add-on to this program would also be helpful.

Good, could be better

2024-12-16

Looking for an app just to keep a food journa to monitor food allergiesl, not to lose weight. Very few apps allow straight jounalling without counting calories. This does allow logging meals and adding notes. A good start. What this needs is the ability to store foods so you don't have to type in the same foods every time. Also, allow creation of your own categories(excercise, vitamins,etc.). An export feature would also be handy. Looking for that upgrade.

Perfect for emotional eaters!

2024-12-16

I'm someone who doesn't eat a ton in one sitting. I graze for most of the day and often eat just one or two "meals". iFoodDiary is perfect for me because I can track what I ate, when I ate it and more importantly, how I was feeling and if I was even hungry. I know I'm an emotional eater and the holiday season is tough for me. Even after one whole day of use, seeing how many times I snack and what I pick is tremendously helpful.

I don't care about counting calories and I'm not doing any measurable amount of exercise. I'm not all gung ho about being on a diet right now because I need to first learn how to make sensible and healthy food choices when I'm feeling emotional. iFoodDiary totally meets my needs.

My only complaint is, there is only one line for entering food. If I've eaten pretzel crisps, hummus and baby spinach with balsamic, the entire meal becomes a "most commonly eaten, quick pick". If I just have the baby spinach, then I have to either type that out separately or edit the longer quick pick item. It would be nice to be able to tap individual quick pick items and have them separated by commas instead.

Wonderful app.

2024-12-16

Does everything it says. Super simple and effective. I love it and plan on using it everyday for everything I eat. Unfortunately, I cannot give it 5 stars for a few reasons. Most importantly, I think that when you add what time you ate, you should be able to put anytime, rather than only 5,10,15,20,etc. Sometimes I'd like to go back after eating a meal and put when I started, or if I forgot to log exactly when I ate, I can go back and put it in with the correct time. Secondly, there should totally be a weight log section so I can track my weight. I have to use a whole separate app for that. I would love it all in one. Otherwise, it's a lovely app and definitely worth the money. These two features would make it even better. Thanks!!

Great Food Diary

2024-12-16

iFoodDiary works great for keeping up with the foods you eat. I love the simple way it works; a very easy layout. I use iFoodDiary everyday; I'm glad I can look back a week or month if needed to see what I ate at any given time. It's a must have for people with food health problems. I do wish it would open on the My Food Journal page and not the My Info page which I never use. A must have app! Keep up the great work guys!

Update is fantastic; now it is perfect! Thanks! That was fast WOW...
