About MONDAINE SBB

Who else but a Swiss engineer would design an ingenious clock that ensured train punctuality and would become a visible concept to everyone in Switzerland and abroad? A timepiece that ticks off a minute in only 58 seconds at first baffled people and continues to charm them today, but this unique feature of the Swiss Railway Clock has ensured smooth and absolutely precise departures of Swiss trains on the full minute for the last 70 years.

(It was in 1944 that Hans Hilfiker, engineer, designer and employee of the Federal Swiss Railways, created an easily readable clock that fast became the Official Swiss Railways Clock.) The iconic look has been the blueprint for Mondaine's watches since 1986.

At Mondaine we focus on what really matters, uniting distinguished and timeless Swiss design with innovation, high craftsmanship and functionality providing a lifetime of reliability.

Easily one of the most recognizable watch dials in the world, Mondaine SBB watches are styled after the classic railway clocks found all over Switzerland.

In fact more than 3,000 original clocks still grace Swiss train stations.

Ingenuity and simplicity are the elements which often distinguish an attractive piece of design from a truly iconic design classic.

Make it even more awesome...please

Please add the option to select the Mondaine SBB clock as the iPhone lock screen (when the iPhone is plugged in).

Why? Without the option to “use Mondaine SBB clock as lock screen,” we mortals must constantly remember to launch MONDAINESBB (or remember to bring it to front, if it’s already launched), in order to enjoy it.

If it’s not technically possible to make the Mondaine SBB clock appear as the lock screen, please add the option to “bring to front” after n minutes of inactivity while unlocked, if possible.

Also, adding an alarm option, so that MONDAINESBB might truly function as a full-fledged travel clock, would be fantastic.

Finally, perhaps an iPhone home screen widget would also be worth developing for the Mondaine SBB clock app.

Thanks.

Stop, to watch!

Easy to read dial- you can “see” the time! A great app design: interesting how you can swipe the current clock left and two other clocks display with two different time zones- current and your choice. Stop2Go is cool to view: the two-second leap of the minute hand - at the top-of-the-hour, is fun to view! App even stays on in portrait/landscape mode - great “screensaver!”

Mondaine SSB Clock Face by Coconut Ron

I love this Mondaine SSB Swiss Railway Clock/Watch face. Beautifully designed and looks awesome on my iPhone 8 and iPad mini. One thing I would like to see added to MONDAINESBB is to be able to change the background color other than white! I hope Mondaine will do this in a future update! I give Mondaine SSB my 5 Coconuts.

So happy to see you back !

After few years, we remained faithful. So happy to see you are back in MONDAINESBB store. Congratulations on making it here again!!

Great

Love the look and function. Only wish it would rotate when I have my iPad on its side.

needs a bit more functionality

Would be better with a few more functions- alarm and if desktop icon ran/kept time.

Love the classic clock.

Beautiful

Love the design. Please work on making the list of cities a bit more intuitive. Need San Francisco, Seattle, Tokyo etc

Always brings a smile to my face

As I do suffer on the MTA in manhattan, I crack a smile when opening up on MONDAINESBB and the fond memories of Swiss rail travel are unleashed.

Smooth

Love the hands

Gorgeous

Gorgeous rendition of the famous Swiss Rail clocks.

One of the good memories of CH

After living in Switzerland for more than 15 years there are some things one just wants to forget - the SBB clock isn't one of them. This is truly an icon of the country - much unlike the cuckoo clocks which actually originated in Bavaria! Great app, looks good and matches my SBB 'stop-to-go' watch! Highly recommended, even for those who've not been to Switzerland. It's a certain conversation piece.

beautiful, but dimming is still inaccurate

First off, the retina graphics and improved motion of the clock are totally beautiful. But somewhere along the way the dimming at sunset feature got kind of broken.

The previous (pre-retina) version just used the sunrise/sunset times for Zürich, Switzerland — localized for the user's time zone. If you were on a similar latitude to Switzerland, it was reasonably close to your local daylight hours.

But in this update, I have no idea (nor is there *any* real documentation) how MONDAINESBB is supposedly figuring out when to switch day/night displays. It's a solid hour or more off in my location (New York). I'd just as soon go back to Zürich time like before — or offer some kind of control as to how this is figured.

It's frustrating, because this is a very cool clock, but the dimming feature is quite roughtly implemented so far.

Nice, and Yes the all Euro company needs to fix

I will keep it and use it, even though the Dim setting is on most of the day as others have mentioned. I believe they coded 12am and 12pm wrong. Either way I am waiting for the fix. With all the new attention since Apple "borrowed" the design for their own uses, MONDAINESBB is probably getting more attention since the iphone5 did not have this nice clock by default. Hey Fegi. Open a English version of your WebSite and get to work on the update, please!

Good old apple

You can always count on them to do the wrong thing when no one is watching. If it's any consolation I predict approximately three more product cycles until they've foisted off so much beta crapware that they start losing serious market share, barring the rise of some new genius not currently amongst their hierarchy post-steve. Better luck next time.

Thanks

Thank you for offering this awesome app for free!
As for Apple, they do not seem to get that the iOS ecosystem is what it is thanks to the hard work and creativity of the independent developers. If it was for the crappy native Apple apps I would have switched to another platform a long time ago.
