Another monthly expense 😡

I’ve had iPeriodPeriodTracker for many years and they up and changed the entire thing with a seemingly innocuous update which wouldn’t be so bad had it not been for the unattractive new layout and frustrating interface with new features nobody asked for. I think most phones nowadays come with a pedometer I’m not going to use this one. I don’t think I lost any data in the update but the fact that they decided charge AGAIN for their “premium” features, all of which used to be included in the original paid app, is so pretentious and completely alienates those of us who have had iPeriodPeriodTracker for years. The new “subscription” not only costs 5x the original price for the baseline but it’s a monthly reoccurring fee, like women need something else to be charged for just for having a period every month. What did you people do sell your app to Facebook or Viacom?! Yeah I’m not paying JACK for this crap I would rather do it the “old fashioned way” and get a dang calendar and a pen! This was a really stupid move devs, you obliterated your original base just to jump on the “fee” bandwagon. If the new fees are because you can’t afford the data anymore then say so and give fair advanced warning instead of just hitting us with this out of nowhere. I hope women read these reviews first and don’t get swindled into actually buying a grossly overpriced subscription.

Their recent “upgrade” is very bad

Used iPeriodPeriodTracker for over a decade. Paid premium price. Then they came with this “upgrade” that introduced useless features while getting rid of what made iPeriodPeriodTracker special.. your ability to back up is gone, and is you want to export your data for safe keeping, well, now you have to pay a monthly fee, for what used to be included by purchasing iPeriodPeriodTracker . The reason given by iPeriodPeriodTracker developer? “It costs money to run a server”. Well, then why not use Dropbox or other cloud file service for Dara backup server so you don’t hav3 to maintain it?
Fortunately I had the backup of the old app, so I downgraded to the previous well-functioning version. I’ll keep using this older version until they cripple their backup server. Then I will just move onto a different app than spending mor3 for an app I already paid for.
Poor move and decision by the developers. If they want to move to a monthly subscription model with less useful features, they should have created a new app instead of forcing conversion to all those who paid good money before and was happy for what it was.

Lost data

Like every other user who has recently posted, I’ve had iPeriodPeriodTracker for years and recommended it to countless people trying to conceive. However, the update completely wiped out my data, which is extremely upsetting and disappointing. I’ve had 4 kids with the help of using iPeriodPeriodTracker to keep track of things and not that I necessarily want any more, but I still wanted the information. I don’t necessarily love the new features, but I could have lived with it had my data transferred. I’ve tried to restore to a previous version, but it keeps asking me for an account login. I never had one or knew I needed one. I would have created it prior to all of my info being deleted had I known. Based on the reviews though even if you had an account it doesn’t seem to have mattered. My last hope is to restore my phone prior to the update and hopefully get back some of the info. Otherwise iPeriodPeriodTracker is useless to me and I’ll be deleting it.

This app used to be free

I used iPeriodPeriodTracker for 10 years, and it was great. My phone pushes updates and one day I open my app to find that not only did it delete my data, i now have to pay for iPeriodPeriodTracker , and it needs an account (in the beginning one was not required and I never had one). So basically they are holding my data hostage. Due to some health issues I’m having my doctors were using that data and now I no longer have it. I emailed support to tell them I need my data and is there a way to get it back. They sent me some crap response about why they made the changes and did not answer my question (perhaps because I can’t get it back?). Support is useless now too. I’m not sure anyone was warned about the upcoming changes and updates. This is poor business practice. Does anyone know whether there was some sort of agreement that was made in iPeriodPeriodTracker before the update that stated our data belongs to them? If not, there may be a legal issue here.

(The best app of its kind!!!!) yeah 4+ years ago

“ iPeriodPeriodTracker is worth the money and more. I have used it for 2 years now. It is great!!!”

Were words that remained in my review box from over 4 years ago. I went to input my data and found out that I have to monthly subscribe to iPeriodPeriodTracker . I paid for iPeriodPeriodTracker years ago. I would not have mind if I was notified of the coming update (or pending doom) that was to come. I am sincerely upset and would not recommend something I will not be paying for monthly. I would rather go back to a blank calendar and counting cycle days than to pay $4.99 a month for an app. Seriously did you developers take a vote and say okay tomorrow we will change everything and charge our customers who already paid a fee for iPeriodPeriodTracker monthly to track data. You are not the only period app tracker. You have years of data of mine that I want. I did not even have a chance to download my information. If I could I would file a class action suit against the criminality that just occurred. Not okay!

Years of data erased!

I had iPeriodPeriodTracker since 2010 when I purchased it for the then cost of $9.99. I was excited when I finally started TTC two years ago, I couldn’t wait to use iPeriodPeriodTracker . Well during one of it developmental updates, somehow my account was synced with someone else’s and I no longer have access to years of information. The data is completely wrong. The cycles are 28 days when mine are normally 30 as shown by my data before it was overwritten. What’s worse is that I can’t even start over bc years of false info has be placed in my account generating false data, as cycle length and period/ovulation estimates are calculated based on previous cycles. I contacted the company they assured me months ago it would be fixed however they have yet to respond to my follow-up email in which I provided proof of the malfunction. I previously downloaded my info to my email and provided them this information along with the current information showing. I have yet to hear back and it’s been months now. Save ur money, and memory, and choose an alternative tracker.

Trash app wants more premium money

Ive had iPeriodPeriodTracker for ages, I even switched from a different period app to this one so I have data stemming from 2011! I loved that I could sync up from my laptop, to tablets, to phone and they even had themes! After about a year or 2 I went ahead and splurged for the “+” version for 4.99 and I liked the new themes, forum, could export all to my hearts content! Now exporting valuable data is a “premium” offer.... one I already fricken paid for!!!!!!!!! I usually back up my apps so I can switch back but didn’t realize this was apart of the update so didn’t bother. I will be trying that “premium trial” so I can export MY DATA and DELETE iPeriodPeriodTracker for one that cares for their content and patrons, looking through iPeriodPeriodTracker Store its clear that iPeriod isn’t top dog anymore its not even top 10 or 15. Will be downloading the current number 1 period app as this one has a total of 5k users across all versions!

tl:dr
Paid for premium app, now iPeriodPeriodTracker is ultra premium charging a monthly fee for what was paid for already. Avoid like the plague your period is a free monthly “gift” lmaooo, tracking should also be free, premium features need only a one-time (reasonable) fee!

So sad to see this one go.

iPeriod was the very first app I purchased when I bought my iPhone. This was circa late 2008- early 2009. Back then it was just a calendar where all you did was enter your start date. Loved it and used it all the time and enjoyed new features as they became available. Even told my doctor about it who then told other patients about it. Unfortunately the new major update rendered iPeriodPeriodTracker useless. There is no longer a summary page listing my calendar history which was one of the features I used the most. Also, it is no longer intuitive. I just spent ten minutes trying to figure out how to add a new cycle and couldn’t figure it out. There is a “plus” button but then no way to just enter a date. And, they now want me to pay a “Membership Fee” to use all its features despite the fact that I purchased iPeriodPeriodTracker. After ten years of iPeriodPeriodTracker I guess it’s back to using a pencil on a paper calendar. Bummer.

YEARS of data gone

I’ve used iPeriodPeriodTracker since 2009 and loved it for years because I was able to record all my data and have it available for doctors and consultations. I especially liked all the features where I could add notes or detail my symptoms etc. After the last major update I opened iPeriodPeriodTracker to find the updated UI, logged in and I was magically transferred back to 2016. All of my data for the last 2 years is missing, and I had only used iPeriodPeriodTracker just days before the update.

I have tried every available restore option, attempting logging in and out and even tried to see if I had another account somehow. The most recent data for the last 2 years is the most important, and now its gone and I cannot retrieve it. I am incredibly disappointed. I’ve sent several diagnostics and emailed support and have not received any response or help. I am devastated that all this information is now gone, which is incredibly important to my current health. I am so disappointed in such a huge flaw in an update and only hope my data is somewhere where I can eventually retrieve it.

Wonky Notifications

I've had iPeriodPeriodTracker for several years now. I rely on it to remind me when my period is coming (in extremely regular). I use it at the OBGYN when my doctor asks about my most recent cycle. I take notes etc. iPeriodPeriodTracker has worked wonderfully, but recently it's been acting up. When I input my period, it continues to notify me and tells me my period is late. It does this for the entire cycle (even after I've added my period) until green week. It's been doing that for I believe this entire year. I didn't receive any notifications at all this month, then bam today my period shows up. I back tracked to check if I missed he notifications. I didn't. It's turned on in my phone, through iPeriodPeriodTracker . I didn't get a single notification. I'm extremely frustrated with how iPeriodPeriodTracker is working lately. I tried to review it and I see there is another version of it. I don't want to download that one and lose all my data. Please fix the notification issue ASAP.

Not too happy

I’ve been using iPeriodPeriodTracker for probably close to 10 years at this point. I loved iPeriod. Never had an inclination to download any other app. It has everything I need. I even PAID money it was that good. With this new update, everything looks different and I do appreciate the new layout. A lot of stuff transferred over except for my red, green, yellow, and blue custom buttons. Those got lost. I was using them to track certain health issues i have been experiencing over the last 4 years. They still appear on my calendar but there is no indication of what they represented. So all that info is essentially lost because i dont remember what color stood for what. I’m pretty annoyed by this. I’m very annoyed by this actually. If I had known, I would never have updated. I thought the creators should be aware of my woes. And if I have to start fresh with that, maybe its time to shop around for a new app altogether.

(Use to) I love it!!!

Update: Well they’ve redone iPeriodPeriodTracker and frankly I don’t like it at all. Of course I can’t find anything on it any more. And just like every app these days, you pay for the plus model & eventually they always switch to a subscription model for the features you already paid for. I’ve had iPeriodPeriodTracker since around 2014 (maybe 2013, it’s been so long I can’t remember exacts) and I had the free version since sometime around 2010 (ish). I think even with that many years of data logged I think I’ll be cutting my losses and find a different tracking app. Maybe I’m just and idiot who can’t navigate it but it really seems like a lot of the features they offered for the paid app are gone and only available in the subscription now.

(5stars rated in 2015ish) For a young couple iPeriodPeriodTracker really helps us keep track of our interaction and puts my mind at ease with its count down. No matter how careful a girl is she always worries what if right around mother natures times, and iPeriodPeriodTracker really helps keep you sane.

Handy but has some problems

I've been using iPeriodPeriodTracker for about a year and a half or so. It's worked pretty well, though I find a few things that aren't very user-friendly, but I've learned to work around them. However, here's my biggest problem: Last week my iPhone suddenly got erased accidentally. Bummer. To make matters worse, I hadn't backed up my phone in 3 months. So when I reinstalled my phone, iPeriodPeriodTracker went backwards 3 months and said my period was 100+ days overdue! OK, I get it, I should backup my phone more often. But here's where I have a problem: why do I bother having an account that I'm signed into if it's not going to remember my information on a cloud somewhere and restore it to my phone? If it's only going to store my months and years of period tracking locally on my phone or iTunes, why bother making us sign up for an account? If I'm signed into an account, then it should retrieve all that information when I login, and it shouldn't affect it if you get a new phone or lose your phone or erase your phone, etc.

Used for 10 years

I started using iPeriodPeriodTracker in 2012. It was very helpful at the time. Over time, other period apps became available but I stuck it out with this one because it had all my data. I signed up for the premium service just to keep my data. Then I got pregnant (yay!). And iPeriodPeriodTracker didn’t have an option for delivery so it continue thinking I was pregnant (boo!). I tried changing a few settings and at this point it show I’m in the third trimester the past 1+ years. When I got my period back, I tried to continue using iPeriodPeriodTracker but it was just too frustrating dealing with an a period app that doesn’t recognize that I’m not longer pregnant 2 years out. I couldn’t download my data when I still had a subscription so that was frustrating also. So I just gave up on it.
I wish the developers had maintained and improved on it because there was a lot of potential to iPeriodPeriodTracker and room for growth.

Great app but tracks your web browsing?!?

I really like iPeriodPeriodTracker, it’s been great for tracking my periods. It’s bare bones and that’s what I like about it.

But, I just read your privacy policy. What the heck do the websites I go to have to do with my period tracking?!? And also, what the Heck qualifies as “other information” in that same paragraph? Nice try making that paragraph smaller than the others, that pretty much tells me your company knows it’s not something people want. I emailed your support to delete my data. Your app is grabbing a lot of information that is not relevant to the purpose of iPeriodPeriodTracker . You should have a feature to opt out of some of those data sharing features. If all I want to do is track my period that is all the data you should allow us to choose. Or at least let us pay a little bit to NOT have that tracked! Deleting iPeriodPeriodTracker . So if you are someone that is concerned about your privacy, this is not iPeriodPeriodTracker for you.

Great app especially for Chronic Pain & Illnesses Warrior Women

I highly recommend iPeriodPeriodTracker for all women. iPeriodPeriodTracker allows women to easily & accurately track their emotional, physical & other associated symptoms of their ever fluctuating hormones related to each part of a woman's cycle throughout the month. It also is helpful w/reminders to do monthly breast exams. It also is useful for always being able to answer doctor or hospital form questions about periods/cycles.

iPeriodPeriodTracker is fairly accurate at predicting both ovulation & periods of women w/regular cycles.

As a chronic pain & illnesses warrior/patient myself I have found iPeriodPeriodTracker useful for tracking my symptoms related to my erratic periods & ovulation cycles. It helps me track symptoms each day even if I don't have a period that month & eventually I was able to pinpoint when I'm ovulating which tends to be followed by my erratic period.

It also has very good fertility features that could be used to help a natural family planning couple try to conceive or iPeriodPeriodTracker being paired with any form of birth control to help prevent conception* or start planning to try to conceive a child.

*no birth control method is 100% reliable, even when closely tracking your biological, emotional & other symptoms relating to your cycle so even when great precautions are used conception of a child still can occur and it is not the fault of an app in anyway. The **ONLY** 100% accurate birth control is abstinence.

A great cycle ap

Have used this ap since 2012 and love all the features. Notes, intimacy, weights, monthly symptoms, ovulation and cycle data are all easy to track and store. Graphs make trends recognizable with ovulation, cycle length, weights. I like that you can hit “average cycle length” so you don’t have to go in every day and add a cycle day when menstruating unless it differs from the norm. I used this ap to get pregnant and did on the first try, twice! So it was accurate for me. FYI- I did have 5 years of data to pull from before trying to get pregnant. It helped me know I had a shorter cycle and I ovulated sooner than most. I also used it to track each trimester weight gain and then postpartum weight loss. I period was a nice comparison tool for my second pregnancy to my first in many ways and continues to be great as I am back to regular cycles.

Great app for ovulation, period and pregnancy attempts!

Really love iPeriodPeriodTracker! I have used it religiously for over 5 years when attempting to get pregnant, having failure in getting pregnant (showing my doctor what I have tried to obtain a fertility specialist referral ) plus tracking my cycles while going through miscarriage, fertility treatments and attempts at conception naturally. Not to mention iPeriodPeriodTracker transitioned me through a pregnancy, return of my cycle and trying again for baby number 2. I had no defects, problems or use with iPeriodPeriodTracker. Completely reliable!! I am still using it and rely upon it completely for tracking periods, ovulation and planning. Really easy to use and modify for your own use. iPeriodPeriodTracker tracks menstruation cycles, optimum ovulation, moods, weight, basal temp, "love dates" and any meta data you desire to track when things happened and when. I have used it to back-search data for when I took shots or took specific tests. I found it invaluable in when going back to the doctor for information they needed about outside specialists or dates on when things happened. Highly recommended!

Great tracker!

All I gotta say is that I’ve used iPeriodPeriodTracker for the last 10 years and I love it. It’s help me to keep track of my cycles. I think there’s no better way than to pay attention to your own body so you can develop your intuition on what’s what, but this has also helped me to learn about how many days my cycles are and when I could possibly be ovulating.
Before I used an app to track I used to think I was all over the place. Of course come to find out I’m very regular and have a short cycle.
I highly recommend. They’ve only done their best over the years to update and improve their app. I haven’t had a problem with the update as like I said before, I only want to track when I start etc. 👍👍👍

Does what you need it to do

iPeriodPeriodTracker works pretty well for the main thing I want it for, warning when the time is comin' 'round. It has gotten better over the years, to the point that I don’t have any niggling issues with it like I did several years ago when I first reviewed it. The one thing I still wish it had, is the ability to enter my cycles in the iPhone Health app for me. I feel funny with one set of health data in a different app, marooned so to speak. I would still use iP for monthly tracking because I like the system, but it would be nice to be able to see that data side by side with my weight and activity, in iPeriodPeriodTracker that my other apps health-related apps dump their data into.
