Not crazy about MeasuresUnitConverter. I plan to travel to several countries in Europe that don't use the Euro and wanted something that would work. MeasuresUnitConverter is very comprehensive in that there are many conversion modules besides currency (distance, temperatures, etc). But the biggest drawback is that to convert from one country you have to scroll through all the countries alphabetically before getting to the one you want. A pain when trying to get to say, Sweden or Uganda.

It takes so long to scroll through the different currencys or other standards. While traveling you are only in one country at one time so when it comes to currency converting you are always using just the two (Home currency and visting country's) It would be So nice if you would update this program to have a swap button so you could decide wich currency to input. I am scrolling forever on this thing really is irritating.

MeasuresUnitConverter needs to be updated.

This is a great help in my travels around the world. I always have trouble remembering the conversions and this makes it wonderfully easy. The ability to get a real time quote for fiscal exchanges is great. The only small quibble I have is that the method to change the direction of a conversion should be easier and more intuitive or just let us swap columns for instance! Thanks

This is the easiest converter I've found. It's very easy to enter new values. You don't
need to backspace over previous entries. Super easy to change between catagories.
The built in calculator is a very nice touch and very easy to access.

Great app. The interface is intuitive (the shake to reverse works the way I wish shake to shuffle would work!) the conversions are accurate, and the program is fast. My one complaint is the splashscreen… it's a unit conversion program… do I really have to sit for 5 seconds just to see te name of te developer? For the free version, fine, but I paid for this. That's what an "About" button is for. I don't need to see it every time I start MeasuresUnitConverter . I'll change my rating to 5 stars if the splashscreen can be turned off in future versions.

This is a superbly written app, and one that I find I turn to frequently. It has a very thorough general database, but is wanting in some areas. For instance, in the RF (radio frequency) section, there are RF power metrics but no frequency metrics (eg. can't convert RF frequency to wavelength in meters), which is a common conversion for amatuer radio operators and antenna designers. It would be nice to see this section improved in this otherwise well executed and aesthetically beautiful app.

MeasuresUnitConverter has practically every conversion I would use in my engineering work, and surprisingly quite a few more that are useful everywhere else. MeasuresUnitConverter is easy to use; it has a simple, intuitive interface that a 4-year-old could navigate. (Have not tested that yet, but little doubt.)
Currency conversion was a secondary interest, but now I wish I'd had MeasuresUnitConverter sooner.

I have been buying converter apps since day one with my iPhone. Throw the rest of them away. This is BY FAR, the best converter app of them all. In fact, I think this developer has written the most polished app I have seen, period.
Does everything or does minimal - your choice. The interface is the best. I can't say enough about this simple to use but most powerful of all converter apps.

This is a very good app. I would appreciate it if you added cooking measurements as well. Then I would give it a five star rating. Update and add that please.


A few years later and it is still a great app. Here is a challenge . See if u can put bible currency like talents, shekels, and pieces of gold, silver and brass in the conversion mix. I'm curious to know how much 30 pieces of silver was in $ today. This is how much Judas sold Jesus out for. I'd really appreciate it.

I haven't tried the currency yet, but the thoroughness of the units of measure are impressive. I had an application on my Palm that had a lot of units, too, but the user interface was awkward. This one is really well thought out. Reversing the units is as simple as double tapping the number display or shaking the iPhone. And there are instructions right on the phone. Nice job, Mr. Neuwert.

I hardly ever write reviews, but MeasuresUnitConverter is just awesome. You can customize the calculator page for shortcuts for your fave conversions (Aussie living in the US for nearly a decade) but appreciate so much how MeasuresUnitConverter has saved me. Thank you so much for developing such a handle tool, I’d be lost without it!

This is probably the most useful and mostly used app on my iPhone. The conversions I use frequently are accurate and have saved me numerous times on many quick calculations. MeasuresUnitConverter is nice and clean and the developers did a great job of utilizing the iPhone's UI. The only complaint is the 'clear' doesn't actually clear, instead it operates as 'backspace'. Other than that... great job guys!

Works excellent especially during my frequent international travels. I have been using this sine the inception of the original iPhone. Never experienced any tech glitches and bugs. Fast and precise! Keep up the good work!

Update: MeasuresUnitConverter author responded quickly to the problem shown below when I used the in-app "Contact Us". The simple solution was to delete MeasuresUnitConverter and download it again. Works great again now, even with iOS 7.0.3.

I really like MeasuresUnitConverter and have used it frequently for various conversions; however, since upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.0.2, MeasuresUnitConverter crashes on launch. It still works okay on my iPad 2 also running 7.0.2. I'll update the star rating if the bug gets fixed.

Out of over 20 Conversion Apps I've tested recently, "Measures" is easily one of the best. An essential and fun app.

MY PROS:
* Accurate results in 3 of 5 of my essential test conversions: acre/sq. ft, mile/inches, 32 F=0 C
* Has all of the common/essential categories and more, including 7 I've not seen elsewhere
* Ability to hide unwanted categories or units
* Has a handy, semi-advanced calculator
* Easy to use/ pleasing user-interface
* Simply scroll the wheel to see additional conversion results
* Was updated less than a month ago, indicating that the developers remain committed to MeasuresUnitConverter
* Only $0.99 ! (There is also a free "Lite" version available)

MY CONS:
* Gives an inaccurate result when converting "Stone" to "oz(US)" (unless you reduce precision)
* Gives an inaccurate result when converting "gal(US)" to "tsp(US)" (unless you reduce precision)
* Gives an inaccurate result when converting -40 degrees "F" to "C" (unless you reduce precision)
* Does not retain most recent conversion entry for each category, only retains the most recent data entry (such as "20")
* No ability to add additional categories or units (like myConvert and a2z Pro)

If the inaccurate conversion results were fixed, and if it retained the most recent units and data entered for each category, I'd say this would be practically the best.
Easily better than most of the 20 conversion apps I've tested recently!

I use this constantly. Simple, intuitive interface and all the conversions I ever need.

I use this application on a daily basis and find it extremely useful. I rated it 5 stars because its simple to use, user friendly, it has solved every unit conversion that I have needed, even those of friends, and it has just about every unit conversion one would possibly need short of being a rocket scientist (even then you may have it all, I don't know). It could possibly be the best 99c I've ever spent.
