Why didn’t I think of this

For years I’ve been had the problem of not being able to hear the TVs at bars. I’ve asked the bartenders to turn the volume on a TV and they always said no. Other than sporting events, what’s the point in having the TVs on then? I’d still like to hear the announcers for sporting events but at least I can see what’s happening. That’s not the case for anything else. Even the news I can only see the “Breaking News” bar but have no idea what the anchors are saying. Some bars have TV shows and even movies on - why? What’s the point? And don’t even get me started on closed captioning. It’s so delayed and there’s no point in trying to follow it.

Because of this app, now people can actually know what’s going on on the TV. I don’t usually write reviews but I felt as if I had to because of how often I use this app. Great customer service too. I reached out one time to ask a question and they were very prompt with their response. It’s one of those thing where it makes you think, “Why didn’t I think of that?” I wish I had , but it doesn’t matter - as long as I have it now.

Greed

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this over the years, but now they’ve gotten greedy. This use to be free with no ads. Now your going to want me to make a monthly payment of $2.99? Seriously! If there was a purchase where you had to pay like $4.99 for Tunity or even $9.99 I’d be cool with that, but requiring nearly $36 a month sorry I meant a year big mistake on my part. Go jump off a cliff worthless greedy folks. Let’s see how long these “short clips” will last. I GUARANTEE y’all it’ll slowly become longer and longer clips. 10 seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and even longer just so they can try and force people to the monthly subscription. It’s coming just watch! I’m sorry but $36 a month, sorry a year I mean which is just ridiculous. Sorry I meant $36 a year. Big typo on my behalf. Hopefully the correction is better now developers. I’m sure people knew what I meant, but apparently y’all couldn’t figure it out. Since this is being done due to the “pandemic” then this means when things get back to normal y’all will remove the ads and not require money to be pod right? Yeahhhhh right like that will happen. Again I’m cool with like a one time app purchase of $4.99 or even $9.99, but a monthly payment.... yeah no.

Bogus ads destroy usability

I used to love Tunity for watching football games at bars. My only complaint (then) was the process of getting a good sync between audio and video could be annoying for sports because there isn't that much lip synced dialog. (Conversely, because there is so little, typically not a big deal if you don't get it synced.)

Well this has all changed. Tunity is now virtually useless due to compulsory ads. It reminds me of that creepy Black Mirror episode where workers seemingly trapped for life in a self-contained power factory were forced to watch ads or pay to skip them. Every 10 minutes or so your exciting sports game is interrupted with an obnoxious command to "bring the this app app to the foreground and watch an ad". This forced ad display actually drained my battery so much last night I ran out before the end of the game. Never mind these forced ad views are not synced in any way with the TV ads, often happening in the middle of an important play. I'm deleting this now garbage app and will try to find an alternative, or just not use an app anymore. Can't possibly imagine what these tone-deaf owners were thinking. Maybe it was bought out.

Absolutely Too Marvelous for Words!

For years I have tried all sorts of little battery powered transmitters, combined with a junky fm radio to listen to the tv audio. Just last week I made a special trip to the Apple store in Baybrook Mall to see if the tech gurus knew of any app which would allow me to use my i-phone to listen to audio from my tv.
They said “no.” When I discovered this app, I was astounded to say the least. It works flawlessly! The left and right slider device which allows the audio to sync with the program being watched is very clever, and it works! On top of that once a channel is put in sync, it goes onto a selectable list so in the future, when you want to hear NBC, for example, you simply
turn on this app and select it from the saved list. What could be easier and better than to use your earbuds plugged into your i-phone to hear the tv at your volume level? Nothing! This is almost too good to be true!

Useful is an understatement

I travel often for work. Whenever I do, I always have time to kill while at the airport waiting for my flight. Most of the time, all the TVs at the gate or at the bars have talk shows. What’s the point of airing talk shows if you can’t hear what they’re saying?

A bartender told me about this app and it has changed my life. Hours to kill before my flights feel like minutes. I’m able to hear what the hosts are talking about and makes my airport experience 10x better. And the addition of Quick Tune has made it 20x better (which I didn’t think was possible). Now I can scan all the TVs I want to hear and switch back and forth between them without having to rescan them all. Trust me, you need this app on your phone and in your life.

You’ve ruined a great app

Tunity used to be great. It used to work well, and I could get through the fact that I had to try and sync the sound multiple times to get it right. Now, with sports finally returning and I want to watch at the gym with the this app app, they make you watch ads that constantly interrupt the game you are trying to listen to. The ads stop the audio and I cannot get the audio to return regularly. Some of the ads are games and how are you supposed to play a game at the gym to get the audio back. Imagine when we can finally watch a football game in a bar someday and the audio you are trying to listen to using the this app app gets interrupted during a final drive, making you play a frickin video game. Ridiculous. Find a better way to get your ads in this app, interrupting audio, your sole platform, isn’t working.

Perfect to near perfect audio.

As someone who has worked in broadcasting, this is app is awesome! The audio sync is perfect to near-perfect. It’s perfect if you are hanging out at a pub, bar, venue and listening. I only say near-perfect because as I say there staring at the game as if I was at home, there are minute differences is sticks hitting ice/each other. That said, it corrects quickly and Tunity has a feature to fine tune the audio yourself. If I hadn’t worked in broadcast, I would have never known.

One tip, do the screen cap during the game/show. Commercials can confuse Tunity . This is not an app issue, this is a local market issue.

Very clever

This is impressive! I see the algorithm that they are running on the software. It’s actually quite clever and effective. This is a great new addition to Tunity Store. Ads during television breaks may not match up, but, that’s completely understandable as ads are based on region. UI design is okay. It’s pleasant to look at and use. Interested to see what the design team does to enhance the design and experience of Tunity . However, again, the function of Tunity is great and clever. This is a really good solution. You will be impressed. Keep going dev team!

Like MAGIC!!!

It took a second try to get Tunity to finish detecting my station, but it was because my laziness didn’t want to hold the phone up that high long enough.
Now I can actually watch live TV while on the treadmill or if my kids are needing quiet while working on a project.
Watched Fixer Upper and was easily able to fine sync the audio to match the lips, but even if it’s slightly off I’ll still be able to enjoy a show quietly.
Next, I’m going to try Quick Tune from my list and make sure I can watch a TV movie because I don’t watch sports.
This is great—I’ve been dreaming of this exact application for years!

What the H happened?

Downloaded, used, promoted how awesome Tunity was. Then bam! It absolutely failed. I would probably have paid for the this service if the performance didn’t suddenly pound me over the head with advertising and crashing. Haven’t been able to use it for a while and I’m no tech idiot. It has fail miserably, more so than what is acceptable. Probably going to delete it. Sad, it was good for a while.

Update; I have actually purchased the service and find it useful. Doesn’t crash as often, but I do have a hard time keeping in sync with the broadcast. I will continue to work it because I want it to be awesome!

Peace in the family!

My husband discovered Tunity because I can hear a pin drop a mile away whereas he can’t hear a thing... so we were dealing with the volume too loud or reading close captions 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷blah blah you probably know the story if you’re looking at Tunity .
So after a download I tried it out and it’s amazing! Either person or both can plug in your headphones and each of you can listen together with sound to your taste, or muting the tv but still listen via headphones and your partner sleeps, reads in PEACE ☮️

Can’t close ads!!

This issue is so frustrating I felt compelled to write my first first app review after owning 8 iPhones and 5 iPads. I understand the need to pay the bills with ads, but at least make it so you can close the ads. The X to close them is in the upper left under the clock making it impossible to close. So when the next time I need to watch an ad happens, I cannot watch it and have to force close Tunity and start all over again. Adding to it is after years of using Tunity, I have to adjust the audio now after never having to previously. So now after closing Tunity I now have to find tune it again, and of course it is different than the last time Tunity was open.

Might have just become my favorite app on my phone.

New user and I'm blown away by how incredible Tunity is. I tried it not expecting much. The ability of it to so quickly find and tune into a show is incredible. That you can also slide the sync to line up the audio to picture is unheard of. I am convinced. This goes to the front page of my phone. My televisions have horrible speakers in them. Now I can tune in and use my airpods to listen properly. Thank you.

Excellent and Frustrating

Wonderful when it works. Followed all the tips to scan a channel, and app can’t find. Tells me to check “supported apps” list. The channels are supported but multiple attempts to scan and sync yield the same frustrating “can’t find” result.

After dozens of tries, Tunity figures out what I want and delivers. When it finally comes through, it’s downright fantastic.

Why can’t we search by channel? I know tv subscriptions provide different stuff in different areas, but when I’m trying to scan a channel in your “supported” list, it would help things along when Tunity knows where to look!!!

Idea==good, implementation not so much

I agree with another reviewer that the requirement for location services is an annoying inconvenience. I don’t even like the requirement to find a screen every day to scan at the gym before I can listen to the audio associated with that TV channel. On a busy day, it isn’t even always possible to find a free cardio machine to use for my scan. A nice feature would be for me to simply enter the call sign of the station each time I visit the gym and want to listen to the audio, perhaps after a one-time setup-type scan of the screen. Repeating each step on each visit to the gym gets to be a drag.

Worst Audio App

I don’t believe Tunity has 4.8 stars. Must have gotten friends and families to write 5 star reviews because there is no way real users would rate it that high. If you get the audio to work, it is choppy, at least 30 seconds out of sync, and cuts out after two minutes. If you are using the free version and can get it to work long enough to get to the first ad you will notice that the ads are crystal clear. Contacting customer support is useless as all they ever tell me is to make sure I am using the latest version of Tunity . I always am because i have auto updates setup for my apps. This is a useless and frustrating app. Dont waste your time with it.

Doesn’t work!

Tunity would be great if it worked. I have constant problems with it syncing. Very annoying! When it does work it’s great but this newest update it a bust!! It won’t sync at all now. Used to work; not anymore

I hate to say this but today I deleted Tunity. It was so exactly what I was looking for at first but now it NEVER works no matter where I am. I told someone about it about a month ago at a bar and he downloaded it and wasnt able to get it to work either. The scan fails every time.

IF there was a way to key in the station I’m watching rather than relying on the scan, that would get past problems with the scan. It amazes me that there’s no way to do that in Tunity. If the scan doesn’t work - even if you know the station you’re watching; it’s not going to work. I have stopped trying and like I said I deleted it today.

Useless with the timing of the ads

Tunity is great except the ads pop in at the absolute worst times. I used Tunity for about 30 minutes today before I got tired of it and stopped. The ads are also poorly designed because after the 2nd, I couldn’t get it to dismiss, so when the next ad popped up 10 minutes later, I couldn’t even select to watch the add so my audio just stopped playing. If you can’t sync your ads with the commercials then you shouldn’t do them. And I’d gladly pay for the service if it were a 1 time payment or even a recurring $10-$15 per year. But as little as I use it, $36 plus tax per year isn’t worth it.

Ruined It

I agree with Greeds assessment on Tunity . I enjoyed it when they were a sprout app. I told everyone at the bar about Tunity . To late for me to collect on the free Pro version. Now when you scan the TV they give you a choice of 12 possible stations. Really? It used to nail the station all the time! Also, you have to go through ads or pop-ups about every 2-minutes unless you join this app Pro. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all about capitalism, but it’s a poor showing of your product. Now people I tell just get aggravated about having X-out of the ads and pop-ups. We just tell the bartender to change the audio to the broadcast that we want to hear.

Not worth the annoying commercials :(

I’m with everyone else’s reviews lately. Having to pay monthly for this is a deal killer for me. I mean yea I guess you gotta make some money somehow but I timed it on Saturday during the gator game and it cut off the game sound every 10 mins to watch some stupid irrelevant commercial. Why every 10 minutes? And why not make it during a tv timeout commercial. I was literally cut off 19 times during the game to the annoying “bring Tunity up front to watch a commercial”. Way too many commercials for sporting events. The person sitting next to me was trying to enjoy the game and got agitated over it also. It was also out of synch all game as well. Had to keep adjusting it over and over. I referred in 5 people last year but I’m not referring anyone else because it’s just too annoying now and not paying for it. You should come up with another commercial schedule like when the tv goes to a commercial break... not in the middle of gameplay. Also in the past I had it running in background with phone in standby mode using hardly any battery life , and now it kills my battery because of all the commercials in front. I didn’t get to listen to whole game. Battery died 3rd quarter. Uggh.

Seldom works

I want to like Tunity but that’s hard to do. I use this exclusively at the gym and it seldom works properly. At first it would seldom properly sync with channels. Is proper syncing dependent on the channel I don’t know. Syncing sometimes is affected as commercials are played and adjustments are needed but that’s not a big deal. As of today the major problem is I lose show audio after the first advertisement. Over and over during my workout. If I could plug my head phone into the TV I would never use Tunity but I’m forced to due to the setup at this gym. So often the audio cuts out after the ads. Sometimes I can’t close the ads even after it has played to the end. Usually this is the ad for the game with the guy and you need to choose solutions for him, garden scapes? All of my software is current meaning your app and iOS. I’ve tried it without the gym WiFi but same issues arise. Hope you can fix this, it’s nice when it works.
