I have had this app since the beginning. I had this app on my palm pilot. I now have an iPhone and MAC, and it crashes all the time! I’ve lost count how many time it crashes on a given day when I’m trying to access it. On my phone the icons do not match up with the correct types like they do on the desktop app. If for any reason I’m not in an area with data I can not access the app. They have pushed everyone to an web based SplashID which I’m against but was forced into. Apps are the future why waste time with creating a web based feature? It’s difficult to export all my data since they have the file in a format that’s not easy for other password applications to read, otherwise I would have already abandoned this app. The customer support is a joke! They like to blame you for your ignorance. There is no phone number it’s only an email that you have to wait around for a day or two, if you’re lucky, to have some kind of assistance. Had a friend looking for a password keeper app, couldn’t recommend this app at all. In fact STAY AWAY from it!

I have the lifetime subscription. Recently, the app wouldn’t open. It wouldn’t recognize my password. I emailed support and it took forever for them to respond. Their help was nearly nonexistent, or inane. Soon their email responses took longer and longer to be returned, like up to a week or more. Eventually, when I simply asked them directly for technical support to help me open the app, their responses ceased, and after continual emails I never got another response. Today, an update for the app became available so I downloaded it and updated the app. I was very excited after I put in my password and the app to opened up. However, I soon realized that although the app would reopen, 100% of my data was gone!!! What I have learned is not to trust important data to a program like this that doesn’t have a company behind it that has sufficient technical experience, a competent support organization, and the marketing desire to help a customer, rather than simply hide when their product doesn’t work. My advice? Just stay away.

After having SplashID corrupt my data not once, but twice after an update, I stopped updating. I’ve been using it for a number of years. Then in a moment of weakness, I allowed it to update. Now I can no longer back up my phone to my desktop machine. SplashData will only let me do that if I pay them rent. They call it a subscription, but it’s software rental. Oh sure, they’ll give me a discount, and even let me pay them a one-time fee to keep using it, but the point is that I already paid for it and I refuse to pay their extortion just to use software I already own.
If you’re thinking about renting this app, be very aware that this is a company with no scruples and no respect for their customers. Having screwed over their customers once, they will have no qualms about doing it again. You’re likely to open SlashID one day to find a pop up telling you that if you want to use it, you’ll have to cough up some more money. In my experience, that’s exactly how they operate.
