Forced to buy app from Microsoft to unlock my email

Microsoft 365 locks up my email with the pretense there was suspicious activity
Because my cell number that I used to originally set up this account isn’t available it diverted
Me to alternate solution one of which is to use Authenticator app the other is to put in personal information to to receive verification code to continue to a different email address.
I filled out all info several time and did not get anything from Microsoft. Point of information this was never a Microsoft 365 account. I was originally a hot mail account which over the years they hyjacked it
