instax UP Scan instax photos Reviews

I thought this would be a good way to quickly scan instax prints, similar to Polaroids's app for their prints. Not really. The scanning features seem to be good, until I realized that I was only getting low resolution scans, with a big boxy blank area around the print. Sure, you can decorate that outside area with different backgrounds if that's what you're looking for, but for those of us that just want decent digital copies of our prints, this is not instaxUPScaninstaxphotos to do it.

This is more of a share your photos in a cutesy way kind of app, not a good choice to backup or share your photos in high resolution. (Clearly they are aiming at a younger demographic) I would recommend Polaroid's app instead, or Google scan for decent scans. It's too bad, because I've certainly bought plenty of Fuji film over the years. But I can't recommend instaxUPScaninstaxphotos.

I downloaded instaxUPScaninstaxphotos from a notification ad from my mini Evo app. However after installing, it’s doesn’t capture images from any of the photos I put in front of it. Kind of a pointless app don’t you think…

Doesn’t scan Polaroids all the time, I’ll be standing around for 5 minutes for instaxUPScaninstaxphotos to scan the Polaroid and NOTHING happens. So far I have only been able to scan ONE image successfully

I just happened on a QR code on the back of a box of film. I scanned and downloaded instaxUPScaninstaxphotos . It’s a great concept I just wish it would work. It automatically shuts down without saving after I scan a pic. I’ve read many great reviews and am very disappointed that I am unable to get instaxUPScaninstaxphotos to work for me.

And when I do the resolution is so poor

I’ve installed instaxUPScaninstaxphotos multiple times and it doesn’t scan anything.
I also find it more work to scan a photo of a photo. It would be much more easier to select photos in your phone gallery. Additionally it would preserve the color and quality of the original photo.

Tried it for 10 mins and found it to be useless. If I have transferred the printed images in digital format from the camera to my phone, why do I need to SCAN the physical print again??? How about you improve the INSTAX MINI EVO app so that it saves images in higher res AND you get rid of the useless background color that you are forced to pick (even if it’s transparent) that creates a pointless JPG image that you’re going to crop anyway bc you have the “Polaroid” framing to begin with!!
I dunno, it’s just dumb and smells like a “let’s collect your information for marketing purposes” kind of an app… To the developers reading this: spend your time and energy on making the INSTAX MINI EVO better because as it stands it’s very basic and clunky

Doesn’t work. Scan button does nothing and I tried forever to make it work but I’m not wasting anymore of my time. Don’t get this.

I scanned two photos and then instaxUPScaninstaxphotos kept crashing everytime I tried to scan another one

The idea behind instaxUPScaninstaxphotos is compelling. Unfortunately, the implementation is severely lacking.

The resolution of the images produced by instaxUPScaninstaxphotos are too low to be useful. You would be better served if you simply took a picture of your instax films with the iPhones camera.

The scanning feature of instaxUPScaninstaxphotos works great, the UX for the actual scan, reflection removal, and corner adjustment are all pretty nice.

Adding metadata to the photo is almost too painful to be worth it. There’s a “history” for previously used date/times which is nice because the date picker is pretty clunky, but there isn’t a history for location so it’s painful to add a batch of photos from a single event.

The worst part of instaxUPScaninstaxphotos is the instability — it’s rare that I can get two photos scanned in a row without instaxUPScaninstaxphotos crashing. I’ll scan the image, do the corner for reflection removal, and while it’s processing instaxUPScaninstaxphotos crashes. Lots of work goes down the drain until you just give up and restart instaxUPScaninstaxphotos between every scan.

An easier way to add a set of photos from one location and date would make his an easy 4 stars, but I couldn’t give 5 until the crashing is fixed.

instaxUPScaninstaxphotos is decent. More usable than a lot of apps like this but not stellar UX. I have an issue I would like to reach the developer about. Since the Instax’s aspect ratio is different from the camera aspect ratio, I’d like a way to take a picture with the Instax aspect ratio. Otherwise I’m just guessing and my pictures get cropped. There is one mode in instaxUPScaninstaxphotos that almost does this but it actually isn’t correct either it gets cropped. I’m thinking there’s a bug because it seems like it’s supposed to be the correct aspect ratio.

This is a great app to store all of your photos, Instax or otherwise! However, I really wish there was a way to share the album with friends or something similar because I would like to be able to see the photos that my friends have as well as put mine in that album, since some of us have our own cameras.

First of all I love instaxUPScaninstaxphotos, but please let me decide if I want to upgrade or not.

Love the way instaxUPScaninstaxphotos works and everything. I only wish I could edit the corners of the photos that have already been scanned, because the scanning process takes a long time and sometimes I just scan all my pictures really quick and leave the automatic detection of corners which is most of the times wrong. If they added that feature it would be a 5 star review for me.

instaxUPScaninstaxphotos is very good at scanning Instax photos in a good quality. It is also very customizable and makes it fells like you are collecting photos. There are a few issues like some photos not scanning properly but it is easily overshadowed by the quality of most of the photo scans! In general it’s surprisingly good!

I love instaxUPScaninstaxphotos so much!! I can keep all of my Instax photos in one place, without worrying about losing or damaging any. I’ve been able to scan all the photos with a white background without a problem… but instaxUPScaninstaxphotos doesn’t let me scan a photo with a black background. Only about half of my photos have white backgrounds, so the ones with a black border i’ve just had to take a picture of and make do with that.

I love instaxUPScaninstaxphotos I like it because every time you take a picture you can scan it with instaxUPScaninstaxphotos and it will be on your phone so if it’s a picture of a dead or lost pet and you lose the picture it will be on instaxUPScaninstaxphotos and that’s why I love it btw I love my instax mini SE it’s amazing love it this is the end so have a good day or night😃

With instaxUPScaninstaxphotos you can scan any of your pics ,adjust them and add them to your collage with any background you want !!

It is so nice to have all my photos digitally. instaxUPScaninstaxphotos is free and great! I can’t ask for anything better.

instaxUPScaninstaxphotos has helped me store my photos in a safe place so I haven’t been losing them anymore
