Hello, I downloaded ChessMove and it said I would get a 3 day free trial, I obliged and it charged me 40$ for the year. I cannot afford this and the purchase was completely misleading so now I can’t buy groceries for this week. Please refund me seth I need my money back I will not use the service.
Scan feature makes half of my dark pieces white for some reason. I’ve tried several different boards and pieces…. same thing, every time. Very buggy when trying to swap out the pieces to correct this. Freezes and closes half the time.
Warning: ChessMove may fraudulently charge you subscription fees without your explicit approval! Right after installation, it seemed like a free trial or basic access was available, but without any clear notification or consent, I was hit with unexpected subscription charges. ChessMove did not display any upfront cost or subscription prompts that I could see; it simply charged my account.
The customer service is horrible
I’ve been tryin to get help for over a week and not even a response. The boards don’t keep their games when another game is upload to a different board
EDIT: Aren’t updates supposed to make ChessMove better??
I don’t expect an app I pay for to constantly glitch, lag or crash, but this one does endlessly. I like the concept. It’s a great tool. It’s helping me learn. It’s also making me lose patience. Hopefully they get it worked out, or I’ll have to count my losses on this one. I’m running it on an iPhone 14 Pro Max with the latest updates. So it’s not likely on my end.
ChessMove is actually working well, but the “free trial” story is flawed (to put it mildly) as one gets tricked into a subscription to get the free trial. That totally discredits the good work, and annoyed me enough to remove two stars (I wanted to remove three, but at least I got refunded after asking for it by reporting a problem through this page on ChessMove Store)
No point in downloading if you can’t get any analysis without paying an extra fee. Developer should consider allowing for partial try out to test ChessMove e.g. 3 scans a day
App has become extremely laggy and crashes often after the latest update!
App has been crashing nonstop the past few weeks.
Exactly what I was looking for. The scanner doesn’t work but it shows you all possible moves. I like it!
I’ve used quite a few apps for stock fish on my phone…none are like this one! ChessMove allows you to easily set up any position you want and play! It does take awhile to find the best move but, I’m willing to deal with that for how great the rest of ChessMove is. I do wish you could change the color of the board without paying, but that’s alright I guess.
ChessMove is a great engine for stockfish, however because it’s a chess engine it does make your device hot due to the amount of resources used for calculating.
Really well-built app. Has all the features you could want to analyze and diagnose any game you play. Love the screenshot analysis and simultaneous game features!

Perfect for study of the openings. I learn by playing both sides. Amazing how strong stockfish is nowadays I hope there’s any competition so I can pair them up!

Hi, I put a recent problem solved by Magnus Carlson in under two minutes, and I double checked on the latest stockfish analysis and your app. Suggest the best move is something else which takes longer than to moves. What gives what is your latest version?
this is a cool app for sure I was watching a chess game on my TV and I was wondering about the commentators and Mark about the position so I took a picture of it and I search the Internet and this program showed up and analyze the picture and made us set up and gave me the best move for whatever side this is totally amazing AI at its best
I finally checkmate my husband. He had no idea I was using ChessMove .
I see this easily being my go to app for evaluating positions. I have one humble request - PLEASE add the verbal/text explanation for WHY a position is winning, better or losing.. Thanks
