Unfortunately I had a bit so great experience. I really wanted to like this app’s Dr’s & NP’s, however I was left frustrated and felt blown off once again. I’ve been dealing with hormonal symptoms for some time, my GP totally ignored my plea for help so I came to this app thinking they’d be helpful since that’s what they claim they actually specialize in. Unfortunately I waited a month to see if my health insurance covered the visits, ALLAR ASSURED ME THEY DID. I did a huge lab work up, then the NP told me I needed to see one of their nutritionists as this app is a whole body wellness plan. So I booked it, saw the nutritionist, which didn’t show me anything new or helpful- then this app sends me a text saying I owe them for the visit because my insurance didn’t cover it! Hahahaaaa! You’re kidding me right! After I asked numerous times about coverage and waited a month for a response! Wow! No thank you! Just watch out and make sure your NP doesn’t reel you in under the guise that it’s all part of the same process. This was deceiving and unclear.
Honestly they over charge insurance for services that should be charged as normal in office visits. Even with insurance cost is more than $100 per appointment which is excessive and takes advantage of those with diagnosis who are looking for support services for their needs. You are gatekeeping care from those who are desperate by over charging and requiring subscription services just to see providers. If you really want to benefit and help find solutions for those seeking your services then decrease your prices, charge as normal in office care, be reasonable about costs. Being money hungry isnt the solution to providing services. Do better.
I really thought Allara and the services were going to be the answer for me. These people lure you in to get a few hundred bucks and then leave you for dead. Once I realized that, I canceled any future appointments I had to save the money. Then I got an email asking me for feedback. It went ignored for several days and then I got a response that was unhelpful and they closed the ticket so I couldn’t respond. They don’t care about people, they just want money.
Completely disappointed in the services provided by this app. No one on their support team can provide the proper answers or are consistently providing conflicting answers. It’s impossible to just contact my provider directly and it’s been over 2 months trying to get my prescription prescribed to me with this app not providing any actual assistance. I really wanted to love this app because of the ease of use and having a provider easily accessible but I do not recommend using this app.
Didn’t get anywhere in my health process, didn’t learn anything new about my existing issues , no new insights on my test data ( I tested too soon which no one warned me about and I explicitly stated I didn’t want to do ) then I asked for a refund 2 days after I was charged and didn’t refund me . Wasted 3 months of the monthly fee at $150 just to be ill advised, annoyed and overcharged . Super disappointed with my experience, customer service was unreasonable regarding refund
Allara is a nightmare. Constantly being billed as out of network and I’m getting charged out the wahoo. Their customer service is slow to resolve these issues. The scheduling is a mess and they often only show you 1 day in the next 2-3 months to see your provider. Considering I have to pay just for the privilege of using Allara , I have to put in a lot of effort to make sure I can schedule appointments and be billed in network. I hate Allara and service. my doctor is nice though. The only redeeming quality.
they claim to save you money because you can use your insurance however that is not necessarily truth. You will pay a higher amount even with your insurance each time I book a session at $70 it will not be zero dollars as they claim also, it’s very hard to get in touch with the doctor unless you’re in the appointment and they are very slow to respond to you with any request. It took them over a week for them to respond to just adding in my test results that they asked me for. I am happy for the test and glad I can take it elsewhere
I never write reviews but I had high hopes for this app and continue to be disappointed. First of all, the tech is terrible. I have login issues every time I try to login (sometimes only works on web, sometimes only works on Allara …Very frustrating). I was just trying to reschedule an appt so I don’t get charged and couldn’t get into Allara but mobile web wouldn’t let me reschedule - there was no option. They also block out times so only appts in the next few weeks are available. This is not ideal if you need to get bloodwork and wait for results. Then I have to continue rescheduling which is annoying given that the tech is bad. In terms of care, it all feels very disjointed and impersonal. They don’t really help you with a holistic solution like they say they will. The patient concierge is worse than one medical. My doctor only answers questions I explicitly ask and recommended a high dose increase which was not good. Overall not sure I’ll continue with this app.
I’ve had a HORRIBLE experience with this app. They take days and days to get back to you, I’ve wasted my money and time trying to get any kind of response back. I wouldn’t waste your money on this. The concept is there but I’m just so disappointed with the lack of communication from anyone at this app. I just needed to get an ultrasound done, and getting ahold of anyone took over a week, so I couldn’t get it done in time. Just don’t waste your time and find somewhere else to get help. I’m so upset and out 150$ now with nothing so show for it. Thanks for nothing, just another predatory health program that feeds on woman.
I commented on an instagram post and was blocked. this app will charge you for your visit without notifying you and will take your money without any notice. They will allow you to do your medical visits, saying your insurance was accepted, and then they will send you a bill and auto charge you in 3 days, even if you contact them to set up a payment plan. Be aware that once they have your credit card information they will use it without your consent. This is the second time I have been charged out of the blue and now have to file disputes against this app health. Would not recommend using at all. Seek a private doctor instead.
I’ve consistently had troubles with logging in app, and there are inconsistencies between the web version and Allara . When it was time for my appointment I was not able to login to Allara so I turned to login on the browser and it would not show me the appointment.
I have been trying to get help for 6+ months for my condition and I get no help. For a platform that is entirely online you would think that they would respond faster , but for some stupid reason the message you send to your provider is first sent to a concierge team who actually intercept and forward your
message to the provider. Why I can’t just directly message our provider is wild and does not make any sense.
The NP I saw was dismissive and condescending. All she really asked me questions about was my weight gain, which was 3rd or 4th on my list of concerns, and ignored my main concerns completely. My “30 minute appointment” was 10 min of waiting and then 10 minutes of an actual appointment and then done. The bloodwork she ordered was very generic and not very helpful. She got several of my medical details wrong from my paperwork which I had to correct her on and then recommended I take a supplement that I’ve been on for several months and had reported on my intake.
I wish I could comment on the dietician but scheduling has been a nightmare. There were 4 dates available over a 3 month period and 3/4 were on a day of the week that conflicts badly with my work schedule. When you message them for scheduling help, you get a different person responding every time and they apparently don’t read the earlier messages so after a week I still have not successfully scheduled and finally just gave up.
To top it all off, Allara is glitchy and terrible. It freezes and logs me out all of the time.
Overall I’m out almost $600 dollars between my subscription and my deductible for my bloodwork and I’ve gotten pretty much absolutely nothing out of it besides a whole lot of frustration.
The visits and interactions I have with my provider are great. However, the follow up the patient concierge staff leaves some to be desired. I have had a couple of issues but the main one being I needed a pre-authorization for an RX. It took over two weeks to get it because it was never actually submitted and when I followed up with the Patient Concierge staff they just said they would keep me posted. I never heard back and finally got ahold of someone at the insurance company to find out it had been approved weeks later, which was after the pharmacy had already filled AND re-shelved my RX.
I’ve never met doctors or nutritionists with as much PCOS knowledge as the providers at this app. Struggling with the condition since age 12, I’ve literally tried everything imaginable but was at my lowest of lows in November 2024. Now in April 2025, I am feeling like a completely new person and have more energy. Highly recommend this service!
I have been a patient with this app for almost 2 years. I came upon them searching for a telehealth endocrinologist and loved that they address so much more! I have an Endocrinologist, my OB/GYN, and a Nutritionist. I learned so much about my hormones, and how my body is changing. For a busy working mom, this app is perfect for me!
The reason for a possible .5 rating deduction is the recipes on Allara itself are not good. They’re very limited and not something I’d like and I’m not even a picky eater.
Now that the ‘bad’ is out of the way — I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2019 via ultrasound and symptoms. I’ve been to two OBGYNS, both offices always made mention of me being obese but never bothered to get to the root cause.
Fast forward to 2025. I started GLP-1s but again, my PCP is very hands off, and i was still struggling to lose weight. So I was seeking additional support for women’s health regarding PCOS and GLP-1. My provider immediately had labs drawn for me and within a week I finally have my diagnosis of being insulin resistant which is why even with medication I struggle to lose weight.
Between my provider and my registered dietitian (not just nutritionist!) I have a care plan and feeling more optimistic than I have in 6 years.
I am so thankful for my providers at this app. I’ve had horrible experiences with doctors where I live and started to lose hope that I’d ever feel “good” again. Then I found this app. I have answers for all my symptoms and an effective treatment plan that is working!!
this app is doing something long overdue: disrupting the broken and outdated model of women’s hormone healthcare. They’re offering specialized, care that focuses on conditions like PCOS, perimenopause, endometriosis, and other hormone-related issues that are too often minimized or misdiagnosed in traditional settings. This isn’t just another telehealth app. This is a platform built to change the standard and to validate women’s experiences, to provide evidence based care, and to finally give us a say in our own health journey.
Allara was well thought through for the purposes of creating a white glove service in a virtual environment where the risk of feeling disconnected is high. Amazing.
this app has been a game changer for me! They are the first doctors to run advanced tests and found a few things that were causing symptoms that no one else had caught! Excited to be feeling better and finally have support I need for that.
I have been with this app for a few months now and have loved the care I have received! Everyone I am in contact with has been so kind and helpful! I feel like I am finally getting somewhere with my PCOS journey!
