TV Remote Control Universal Reviews

So I can only use this remote to move between apps you can’t power the tv you can’t turn up and down the volume or anything that doesn’t use the middle buttons without a stupid subscription…… and it not once a month no it’s once a week they charge you… I downloaded this cause I lost my remote control but at least that remote isn’t charging me rent just to be in my house. Idc if you have to make this ad based cause TVRemoteControlUniversal is nothing but a money grab machine.

Download is free and you get to open options menu for free, that’s pretty much it. You have to buy access to use the remote features like volume up - down, power on - off, pause, home, and everything else. What makes it worse is the ads after you press any button.

Lots of ads to use this remote for free my original remote lost the function of the select button. Will purchase a replacement remote for much less than this subscription service. No work around the payment service.

The "free" 3 days actually costs $2.99.
Huge ads that you can't skip.
I installed this "free" app. First it asked for my cc number. I somehow continued without it.
The remote shows up and within seconds there's an ad that can't be closed. The add that popped up was Bingo. I thought I'd made a mistake and downloaded Bingo somehow, because it was the full page Bingo. Maybe there's just one add I thought. Nope, another ad came up right behind it.
Then they charged me $2.99 for the "free trial.
AND.... There doesn't seem to be an option to cancel it.
TVRemoteControlUniversal is a joke and screams "scam" to me.

I’m not interested in screen casting, themes, or whatever else it is offering. I just need the track pad to access my tv. TVRemoteControlUniversal advertises that you can use the free version to use the basic track pad and it’s a lie. When you try and scroll, this screen pops up and tries to force you to pay $35 for a subscription. So don’t even waste your time trying to use TVRemoteControlUniversal if you are not prepared to pay for it. Paying for features you don’t care about at that.

One of our dog ate our remote and had to resort to this. Figured it will work and paid lifetime membership on it. It managed to find TV and connect but can’t control anything on it. Very disappointed and I reached out for support via messenger option but did not hear back. If I could I would leave no star.

Some of the things in TVRemoteControlUniversal work and some don’t. I thought I would get to test it for a few days to see if I liked it. If everything worked on my tv I would have got the yearly. I got charged for a week when I thought I was getting a free trial. TVRemoteControlUniversal is way over priced and definitely not worth it.

They let u turn on the device and connect them after a few clicks the “buy premium” pops up u close then pops back up and then after a few times u cannot do anything unless u buy premium. It’s a joke yall can eat a fat one

I just wanted a temporary solution since my controller broke, i was only able to do a certain amounts of clicks before it stopped me and continuously asked me to buy the subscription. I wasn't able to use it after that

TVRemoteControlUniversal is 100% useless. It will not let you do anything without paying it claims. There is a free three day trial but you cannot use TVRemoteControlUniversal during those three days. I literally just needed to shut my kid up while I find the remote!

It mostly works. Although, right now it’s not. I’ll figure it out. On the same network but not working . Restarted the phone. I’ll try to restart the tv. Wish I could find the real remote. I’m also restoring TVRemoteControlUniversal constantly. Annoying ads appearing after I bought the lifetime version.

You cannot even use the left right up down without being asked to purchase premium package. The prices are predatory, 5 dollars for per week? Or 25 for a year. Very clearly trying to get you to mess something up so they can keep charging you weekly.

An predatory subscription service pops up everytime you need to use the remote. It makes TVRemoteControlUniversal unusable. The automatically generated responses to the reviews are stupid too. The developers aren’t looking into anything because they’re the one pay walling TVRemoteControlUniversal in the first place.

So I downloaded TVRemoteControlUniversal after reading the reviews bc I lost my remote and it connected to my brothers tv and I thought it was connected to mine but guess what it wouldn’t work I tried to hit the ok button and it literally popped up a subscription that you have to pay to use TVRemoteControlUniversal the other ratings not being rude or anything but I dont know how it worked for y’all but it didn’t work for me and the maker of TVRemoteControlUniversal not being disrespectful or rude I’m just saying and also there’s adds I already have to do with it on TV 😡😡😤😡😡😤😡😡

So does $364/year at the default Weekly rate after a 3 day trial sound remotely reasonable to you for a digital remote - pretty disgusting. Didn’t know/forgot TVRemoteControlUniversal was on my phone starting in early August - let alone charging an absolutely ridiculous $6.99 per WEEK!! Assume I clicked on a free trial… the price is what is aggravating. Lucky I checked my subscriptions today & cancelled it. They still got me for 4 weeks of charges. For that cost… I should own it now. In my opinion, this can certainly look like preying on free trial candidates - just look at the default weekly pricing model - it doesn’t make any sense AT ALL vs annual cost. Ask yourself why?? $4/month is MAX it should be - but then I would have caught it before the 2nd month and only lost $4… not $28. Think about why there is default weekly pricing after free trials… there is just one reason, to take advantage of people. No App like this is worth $7 per week ($28/month)… especially when I already have a remote through Apple for my Apple TVs. Apple - you could make it even easier for your customers by just sending a push message directly to my device anytime a payment is about to be charged - sending to email is not a great warning system. Seems too obvious. If it just popped up on my phone I would have cancelled it before the 1st charge. Otherwise it is a passive system of going to settings (or checking emails) and checking subscriptions. So took a few weeks for me to catch it.

I tested TVRemoteControlUniversal out because I lost my Roku remote and needed to control the TV. It works great but there are way too many ads and features that are blocked behind a monthly payment.

I just learned that there is an official Roku app that allows you to control your TV, at no cost to download and is ad free. It works just as good as this one does. Don't bother with TVRemoteControlUniversal.

I downloaded TVRemoteControlUniversal , it connected to everything just fine except you have to pay $5 a month to use an app to control YOUR tv. Or $25 up front for the year. Who keeps paying for a tv remote? That’s like having a subscription for shoes you already bought 😳. I want this for when the kids fight over the remote I just turn it on gf from my phone and move accordingly. This is robbery and ppl are accepting it

I HATE the fact that you would need to pay for almost everything, as well as the ads. I understand you need money so you can still pay for TVRemoteControlUniversal , but this is TOO much. It asks me to pay just to put the volume up. I usually lose my remote controllers so I would need a app just in case I lose it, but this is not a app I recommend.

So I downloaded TVRemoteControlUniversal trying to see if it worked for my device and they gave me a three day trial and the three days it ended but when I went to 43 days is up, I went to try to cancel it and it gave me no option to unsubscribe is through a third-party, which is straight up like a trap and a set up now they wanna charge me a $40 annual premium subscription for something that didn’t work

I’m giving it 2 stars for downloading easily but so far I’m unable to get past finding the Search feature

Once I’m on search I cannot toggle and there are continuous pop ups trying to sell upgrades and subscriptions

I’ll give it a little more time then might try an alternative

Okay if I’m going to make a comment on TVRemoteControlUniversal I need it fixed.
Picture that you lose your remote but luckily you have TVRemoteControlUniversal. GAME CHANGER you thought but…… you can’t even turn the freaking tv on. You have to find your remote to turn it on. I mean why don’t you just use a normal remote if you’re going not to be able to turn the tv on. Am I’m not going to pay 35 dollars if I’m going to probably delete TVRemoteControlUniversal and use a real remote. I got TVRemoteControlUniversal from one of my bestest of friends and honestly I was super happy to get it and then I can’t even turn the tv on. I want a response that says !happy birthday! so I know that you’re not copying and pasting reply cause I see you doing that.

I’m constantly having to reconnect or close app and reopen. Next it will make me restore my purchase. Over and over these issues come up. Please fix and I will change my review. While it works it’s more annoying than anything. (Bought the lifetime use)

With TVRemoteControlUniversal you can’t use any of the buttons unless you pay the subscription so I don’t recommend unless you want to pay a fee.

I recently tried out TVRemoteControlUniversal during its trial period, hoping it would meet my needs. Unfortunately, my experience has been less than satisfactory.

I reached out to the support team twice—once to request cancellation before the trial ended and again after my card was unexpectedly charged. Regrettably, I received no response either time. It's frustrating to be left hanging without any acknowledgment.

Despite leaving a clear message to cancel my subscription, my card was still charged. This lack of responsiveness is unacceptable.

As a user, I feel abandoned. The lack of communication and failure to address my concerns promptly has left me in a difficult situation.

I cannot recommend TVRemoteControlUniversal based on my experience. If you value customer support and timely communication, look elsewhere.

What I said above. I’m mad. If you can’t use it, why has TVRemoteControlUniversal changed to having the upgraded model only. Disappointing. The problem remains unchanged. I’m very dissatisfied!!

I have a lot of feedback that I would like to see in the future so here is my feedback.
TVRemoteControlUniversal is great and all I just want more free things I can be able to do. Don’t really recommend TVRemoteControlUniversal because most of the stuff have to pay for and a lot of people can’t be able to spend that kind of money.
And I heard about Screen Mirroring but there is another way u and do it and it’s on Apple Phone,How? Stroll down from the top of your phone press the TV button and if your TV is connected it will work.

TVRemoteControlUniversal is ok just needs a lot of work

Have Samsung tv with DIRECTV, and allllll the streaming apps imaginable. The remote for dtv is SO loud I can’t watch anything at night because it wakes my husband up. If the Samsung remote is lodged under the covers or I can’t get to at night I’m s.o.l. I’ve tried at least 10 remote apps and this is not only the best but the only one that consistently works. I don’t have to re-pair to use every night, a process that requires the remote. Highly recommend. I did buy full version.

This is so cool and I can’t believe this really work.

We have a new puppy and we’re down two remotes so TVRemoteControlUniversal is a lifesaver! The couch won’t eat my phone aand the dog won’t eat it. I will buy the lifetime subscription when the three day trial is done. Great idea!

Once downloaded it was easy to use. Found my TV and others without any complications. It's convenient when u don't like finding the remote or the batteries are low or simply the remote is broken. However the ads are extremely annoying but otherwise I absolutely love it.

Apple TV is not working on my Toshiba

I alway have to look the physical remote control when wanting to watch TV cuz my kids leave them somewhere. TVRemoteControlUniversal is super useful.

The display is quite clear. I don’t have any trouble using it

📺 Fabulous app for my Samsung TV. It has tons of additional features such as using a keypad to enter words for searches, it opens to give a direct connection to apps such as Netflix ❤️❤️

I lost volume up and channel up on my remote, downloaded TVRemoteControlUniversal and was able to control everything. thumbs up

The connection was very fast and it has a little vibration to let you know whenever you press a button. I feel like using a real tv remote

New experience for me. I have heard about the smart remote for many years but refused to try it many times because I thought it was too complicated for a low-tech woman like me. But it turns out amazing and saves me from the trouble of playing hide and seek with the old remote.

I put that many stars to show ppl the real comments You’d think after having a broken remote and can’t afford a new one rn atm temporarily you find a nice app and be able to connect easily but once you start clicking TVRemoteControlUniversal down even work it gives you the stupid trial ads I’m uninstalling it’s not worth your time
