Supremely Paywalled

This is a great game - at least, it would be. Rather than outright telling you that certain sections are inaccessible (i.e., pretty much the entirety of the game), you are forced to find this out on your own. The full game is around $24 to buy all of the expansions, $5 per area, but you don't figure that out until you've already invested a significant amount of time into the game, got to those areas, and found that they were blocked off.

This would be an amazing game if it were fully free, mostly free (with some paid sections), or even fully paid-for, but no. It instead pulls some weird bait and switch.

Again, almost ALL of the game is inaccessible, past the first villiage and a few small areas you can explore. It should be listed on here as an unpaid demo instead of a game, but instead they went the deceptive route. In short, don't play this game thinking it's a free game; it's not.

i’m very sad 😭

i loved the game. i played through the entire first section in a day. then i got so excited to go to a new section only to find that each island is 5 FREAKING DOLLARS. that’s absolutely ridiculous. if you buy the whole thing it’s thirty dollars. i don’t feel like paying that much money on a mobile game. it’s so stupid. don’t download if you think this is free, ITS NOT. you will be thoroughly disappointed once you beat the first island. i am really sad that i don’t get to play through the entire game because it seemed so fun and cute. i guess i was wrong.

Purchasing

I loved the game. It was so cute and fun. I played for a while, then tried to advance into the next phase only to be met with “Buy this to continue playing.” …? Really? I understand the developers need money in some sort of way, but why couldn’t that be mentioned first before I downloaded it? Why couldn’t it be “buy this special addition” or “buy gold” or whatever? You can only play the first bit (the sun one/monkey one) and then it doesn’t let you go further until you buy it. I was really excited to play it. That was a huge bummer. Not everyone can afford that. Just because a bunch of streamers can doesn’t mean the vast majority of the players can.

Cute, fun game - deceptive marketing.

I was so excited about this game. And to be honest, it’s very fun and cute. BUT there was no indication that this is not a full game unless you pay 20+ dollars. I have no problem with this being a paid game, it’s good. BUT you are being deceptive to get people to buy your game and that’s just shady. Also this being the response to others with the SAME complaint:

“We understand that refunds can be relatively difficult, so we've chosen this sales approach to allow more players to experience the game first. We hope you enjoy your adventure!”

The “sales approach” is to get people invested in a game without telling them it costs anything and then throwing a 20+ dollar price tag at you. Id pay for this game, but that’s just too shady for me. You could just let people know this is a try before you buy. Hope this “sales approach” works for you but I won’t be purchasing.

Can’t Play

I get as far as ‘New Game’ -> ‘Difficulty’ -> ‘loading…’
And then i get the boot.
Purchase screen says my device is compatible. (As it is older, however, i will take some potential responsibility; I won’t give a ridiculously low rating for this issue.)

Great game, does a bad job telling you that it’s just a demo

There were no indicators that to unlock all the other islands you needed 30 usd. 5.49 per island is not worth and paying 30 was definitely not what I wanted to do. Really charming game otherwise, just didn’t make it clear it was a demo and I needed to pay to continue.

Crashes all the time

I LOVE THIS GAME!! Which is why it’s soooo disappointing when I can’t continue the storylines because the game crashes. You can get to all areas after you pay. Anyway, I can’t get on the boat at the Harbor town to find the secret on the southern island and I can’t pursue the mayor on his plane without the whole game crashing. I really hope you spend more time on the iOS version and fix this because I really want to finish the storylines!

Looks great, doesn’t work

I want to preface this by saying that I think the game looks amazing and I’m sure I would like it. That said, this game is not entirely transparent on its price. I understand that a full quality game like this shouldn't be free, but as it appears in the shop section of the menu, at least a good chunk of this game is locked behind individual five buck paywalls instead of simply charging 20-30 bucks for the game. The inapp purchases section is very low on the page, and I have yet to meet anyone who has ever looked at that stuff, as i downloaded the game without even checking that. That said, I’m not even sure how much of the game is available, as it crashes upon trying to load any file, new or otherwise. Still, this game looks worth the price, I just wish the makers were more upfront about the price (perhaps in the description) and that I could actually play any of it instead of being booted out.

Cute game; most of it locked behind paywall

Its a very fun and enjoyable game! The game mechanics, art style, and story are all very fun and work well.

But. Even though the game is free to download, after you get past the first area you discover that each subsequent area will cost you $5.49 USD for a total of ~$25 to unlock the whole game.
I understand the need for the devs to make money, but I feel that is much too high of a cost for a mobile game. Which is why I can inly give it 3 stars. Perhaps if the whole game cost between $5-$8 it’d be more worth it.

Awesome but…

I really enjoyed the part of the game that was playable. My only issue would be that instead of showing the game costs actual money, you let us play through 20 ish minutes of it then hit us with a $30 full game unlock(via 5-6 $5 unlocks). Just show everyone it’s a trial or a “try before you buy” kind of situation. The game is shown off as FREE when in reality it’s a full priced Indy game

To be clear… it’s a $30 ($25) purchase?

I thought it was free but it’s not. There are 6 “islands” and each one is $5.49… or $25 for all 6. It’s a bit steep for a mobile game, so it isn’t for me 🤷🏻 If it was like $10, I’d consider it.

Thoroughly enjoy playing!

I admit I would give 5/5 if the pricing for this game wasn’t so high but I thoroughly enjoy playing it. I’m about 63% done at this point and have played about 16 hours with constant fun. I enjoy the story and the side quests more than the main quests because I’m more of an adventure type of gamer. The art is very cute, and I love all the collectibles and ability to customize.

Now it was a pricey game, being $25 for all open areas or $5 for each area but I had the funds to spend it on this game, and I’m having fun so I can’t complain! If you don’t want to pay for it, then simply move on to another game that has ads, that’s all I can say.

Love it, but has a few problems

I love the game so far, but it’s annoying that you have to pay to do new areas, and because of this I am having trouble getting to the sanctuary. Another problem is that most areas are blocked in areas I discovered before. The game says I don’t have to pay to get new areas in the forest, but even though I have it (and it’s the main region you start in, and already have) it does not let me go to certain areas. I’m also stuck in the moon forest, because there are no friends I can call that can dig up the maze area block. The game should have some free regions and maybe some more quests to choose from. Despite these difficulties, the game is amazing, but (maybe) misunderstood, and I hope the game gets better over time.

Worth the Price

I liked that the game was free at first. That way I could play a bit to see if I enjoyed it. When I got to the point I needed to buy the rest of the game I was more than willing to pay the price. It’s not a small mobile game, this is a PC or Game Console worthy game. I’m 20 hours in to gameplay and have enjoyed almost every aspect of it. My only frustration was that the boss battles were way harder than anticipated for the rest of how the game is played. However, once I learned you can change the setting to easy, which prevents you from dying, my cozy game play needs were met and I progressed on without frustration.

Definitely the best game I’ve played all year .

I can just not describe how good this game is it got me addicted, I just wish it was cheaper or at least you can finish the game without all of the tasks cause 25$ is a lot of money for a game , still completely worth the time never seen a new game with barley any lag or flaws .

Amazing !!!

I’ve only been playing this game for a short time but i love it so much. The characters are adorable, The story line is interesting and fun to play, and theres alot of exploring and puzzles to do.

I have encountered a few slight problems which include but are not limited to: The signs are unresponsive. I cannot read the road signs or the construction signs so i have no idea what’s happening sometimes. There is a glitch with the running mechanism where the character will run the opposite direction you’re trying to go. Last but not least, while playing the game sometimes it will crash and freeze for a minimum of 30-40 seconds and then resume gameplay again.

Amazing game though and i cant wait to see whats next.

Need help

I’m having a problem we’re I don’t hear any sound playing the game no music or sound effects dose any one have a way to fix it trued messing with the settings and deleting it and downloading it but still nothing still think the game is great but it annoying wen I can’t hear eny thing

Tis Good Stuff

Absolutely loved this game! From the graphics to the music, it was genuinely one of the most fun games I’ve played in a long time. The storyline was so well thought out and the puzzles made it so much fun. The challenge of it all made it all the more exciting to play. Well worth the price as it has so much to offer.

best game ever!

things i liked:

- wonderful soundtrack / sfx
- beautiful graphics
- likeable characters
- interesting and challenging puzzles
- tons of side quests
- free????

sign me up

(only wish there were hints sometimes lol)

things to improve on:

- i don’t know if this is a bug or not but sometimes i can’t read the signs 🪧 (i click on the eye button but it doesn’t do anything)

- also if you try to equip a hat to the menu the game freezes and you have to go out and go back in for it to work again

- wish that the journal / settings were easier to navigate too and that you could go to any location on the map (some locations are greyed out and i cant fast travel to them even if i’ve already unlocked them, not sure if this is intentional)

- hints that can be bought with in-game currency! or general hints like ‘have you fully explored this location?’ or something

but overall, amazing game! loving it so far 😊❤️
thanks for this game, devs!

Amazing Zelda-like adventure game.

The images on Apple store don’t do this game justice. Where’s the images of the epic boss battles? Or the sweet masks you get? It needs a video to show off some of the stellar soundtrack.

But yeah, I love this game. It’s is so fun and adorable. But even tho it’s cute, it doesn’t hold your hand. Some parts took me several tries to do. I’ve had a blast and I’m not even 50% through the game yet.

But I really do feel this game could use some better marketing. I honestly had no idea what it was about and I just happened to download it on a whim. I will say that paying over $20 for a mobile game does feel kinda steep, but I 100% feel it was worth it. There is just SO much to this game. So many different areas, side quests, and collectibles. You won’t regret it.
