As an idle game this was very fun and very simple and addicting to check in on a couple times a day. Then the “update” came. Gave you progression beyond the base game. An “expansion” if you will. But it’s not. It loses sense of what made and makes an idle game fun. The only way to progress this mode at all is to leave your phone on for hours at a time. As nothing in the “simulation” phase progress while IdleDysonSwarm is closed. Combine that with a mandatory 10min timer PER minute upgrade point (of which you need hundreds to upgrade) and the game went from an excellent idle game, to nothing but a forced battery drain. Such a shame they went this route, I had high hopes
After the new update, after losing all of my progress, I made it all the way back to reality and was able to buy every simulation upgrade, along with all of the speed and translation upgrades and now I can’t prestige even though the wiki tab says after buying the animist upgrades you unlock manual collapse and evolved prestige but now I have no idea how to do it since there’s no button anywhere that lets me
It’s always fun to play a small game like this as it’s being updated, you get to see how it changes! The past few updates have been great, it’s enjoyable to check up on my progress a couple times a day and get some upgrades. More content or story would be appreciated!
This is one of the best idle games I’ve played on my phone. The first thing I need to mention is that there are NO ADS! Not even a “Watch ad for 2x boost” type thing! That already adds so many points.
I started playing this game before skill points were added, and then wiped my save to start from the beginning when I saw they existed. When I wiped my save, the skills tab was still there. And when the infinity was added, I could see the tab even when I hadn’t infinity(d) yet
I think they should be hidden until you “unlock” them. So you feel a real sense of progression when you think you’re close to the end, only for a whole new tab to appear and be like “oh yes”
An idle game that does this very well is Antimatter Dimensions. It starts out with a very basic UI and mechanics, but as you go further, a ton of new things are added. Playing that for the first time was exciting because I had no idea when I was getting close to the end.
Even if the tabs don’t get hidden, I would really like a progression based tabs *setting* that I can toggle on or off, for future tabs that may be added, or something.
The reason why this is 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think that early infinity is very slow, although I might have just chosen bad upgrades.
The 2.0 update has brought a lot of cool things to it and vastly expanded the endgame. I’ve played a lot of idle games and this is the best one so far, bar none. I check in throughout the day and the time spend ability is making such a difference.
However I hope the dev eventually makes the ability to prestige the “reality” section of the game. In 1.0 it had a point, in 2.0 it gets you a lot of skill points and then offers no further use and cannot be prestiged. Maybe it has some tie-in with the quantum system, I’m not sure as I still have a ways to go before the next quantum reset. It’s a lot of fun to do so hopefully it’s not just done. Will update this later if I’m incorrect.
I have now been playing this game for a few months. The set up is simple. The user interface is easy to work with, and the game does a good job of explaining its own mechanics to you. As you progress through the phases of prestige, and again, and again, this game actually speeds up.
One of the unique things about this game is the way that it loops planet production back to the number of produced bots, so that the more bots you produce, the more factories are being produced as well.
This game also incorporates a prestige plus system, which adds a new element to the game and expands its appeal. an excellent game, and does not require any money to enjoy. Highly recommended from someone who has played many games of this type.
One gripe. When bot automation is purchased, it covers up the planet growth rate obtained by the Scientific Planets skill. The automation button should be shifted to the center.
The rate of updates and the quality of content with them is great obliviously this will change as the game grows as it’s harder to add more concepts but it’s extremely well made for a new game I’m excited to see how it’s lifespan progresses it’s a joy to play and I always check in and love the systems!! Good luck developer I’ll donate soon :)
This game looks simple when you first install it, but it gets more fun and complicated as you go on. This is one of few games that actually gives me a sense of accomplishment when I reach a goal.
Thank you for this game, we need more idle games from you!
The game is simple yet so good! And most of all NO ADS. I really appreciate this man, games with no ads are really the best, putting a tip section is the most classy way to earn revenue. U didn't go greedy on the ads and i respect this. (I would have donated if i had any money myself, my country is in a crisis at the moment).
One small remark, i find the sun and earth graphics when you tilt the phone useless! I guess keeping it clean pure text is the way to go! After all its my opinion!
Keep it up!
I’ve got all the research bought in new content. Now farming Strange Matter and have over 1 million with nothing new to spend it on. Is there anything more to unlock? I may have hit the end game which would make me sad.
Loving it so far. Been playing roughly two weeks now. Wiped save before skill point reset was added, RIP me haha. There’s no ads or anything. Literally the only “IAP” is a tip jar. $1, $7 & $20, of which I’ve done the latter two once each. Investment in what I know will be an even more quality game down the road :)
This game is one of theirs ideal games In that you don’t need to spend a bunch of time or watch adds because there aren’t any there are no adds I don’t know how they make money there are no micro transitions too and it such a dynamic experience because I learnt so much by just looking at the patch notes and the built on wiki overall and it’s so informative I highly recommend this game
I played and nearly completed the game before it was wiped. I was little disappointed to see all my progress gone when I logged back in.
However - the dev put in some major work. The game has been majorly overhauled. I highly recommend trying it now. It’s a really cool game. The new systems are cool!
I love this game for its simplicity. No ads, no premium currencies, just like how I have always wished games were like. Along with no over-excessive tapping for currencies. (However, some slow tapping is needed for the first bit of the game, but that does not take too long.) The concept of making endless bots, solar energy and taking over galaxies is clever to say the least. This is perfect for those who dislike limited-time events, confusing currencies, over-detailed gimmicks, or taking up lots of your phone's storage. While many updates have been arriving recently, it does increase the game's complexities slightly, but still makes it more interesting and enjoyable. I wish I have found this game earlier. It is amazing. But not 100% perfect. Like any idle game, it can get repetitive overtime. But that is barely an obstacle for me. One last thing is how the skill tree is challenging but fair.
The gameplay is straightforward and addictive, by far one of my favorite games on mobile. Lucky enough to have completed before the re work, so got to beat it twice which was cool. If you don’t like idle games then don’t play it cause it is an idle game. Honestly seems like this is a really chill dev and seeing the negative reviews just doesn’t make sense to me
No ads, and a great pacing… it’s lacking a little in upgrades in my opinion… but the developer clearly isn’t trying to cash grab. It’s hands down one of my favorite idle games regardless. And I play A LOT of idle/clicker games. Couldn’t recommend this game more for idle lovers. Five stars hands down. But I would like to see the galaxy view be a little more than just a zoomed out version of one planet swarming a single sun with bots.
Haven’t been playing for long, (I’m at about 9 infinity points now) but I really enjoy the gameplay loop, and the fact that I can reset the skill tree whenever for free. No ads is a huge plus as well. Progress isn’t abysmally slow, and there isn’t a cap on how long you can idle. Simplicity is sometimes overlooked for an abundance of random stuff to do or pay for, but Idle Dyson Swarm doesn’t overdo it. Simple gui with a nice difficulty curve so far, in game wiki is nice too. Well done devs, keep it up, and thanks for putting your all into this game. ✌️
I was close to completing this game before the update and it had a great pace. Then the update came, I lost all progress. No big deal let’s start over. It took me about 4 days to first infinity and another two todays to get 50 quantum shards. Super radiant scattering is just too OP. Never got to enjoy the extra skills because getting to 42Qi takes less than 2 mins before I unlocked them, and about 10 seconds to get another shard at this point.
However I really enjoyed this game. No ads, no need to buy anything, and I believe there will be more balanced gameplay to come. Keeping any eye out for updates. 5 stars.
I’ve tried all sorts of idle games over the years. And I can safely say 95% of them have the same crappy pay wall exponential difficulty growth with linear upgrades convincing you that you’re making “progress” when you actually get diminishing returns.
This game is made from pure love and passion and it really shows. Please consider donating to the developer because credit is deserved where credit is due.
I will say however that I’m having a bug where my screen rotate isn’t working and I can’t get the drone view on my iPhone XS but besides that this game is sooo much fun to play and you’ll often come back from not launching the game in sometime and just make insane progress. Thank you for delivering this to us (for FREE!) and continue to bring us amazing games!
Not only is this a really interesting premise, but you can tell this game was made by passion, not by a company. The lack of force fed ads and the same style you see in every other game really helps give it to an identity, and to whoever made this game- it was a hit for me.
