Disappointed

2023-11-29

I wasn't aware that you had to have a subscription to use, im not going to go through with the free trial because that'll be a headache to have to remember to get rid of on time. When I saw in app purchases I was assuming that it would be similar to Yuka and would only charge for special privileges like item look ups and what not, not for paying for the ability to use OnSkin period. Deleting now.

Lies

2024-07-09

So basically I tried this on all of my skin care and it all said 49% safety and for example I scanned my Clinique and it said 49% safety level and I looked at the ingredients that OnSkin said was in it and then I compared it to the ingredients on the back of the bottle and it did not say any of the ingredients that OnSkin said OnSkin said it could damage the skin but I have been using it for years and it has helped my skin a lot and I also have really sensitive skin and it has never hurt or damaged my skin. So I am leaving this review so that you know not to trust it and throw away good or expensive product that actually work well. I feel like OnSkin is trying to get you to throw good products away and I scanned 1 product 2 times and it said at first 49% safety and then when I scanned it again it said 67% safety so that is how I know for a fact! That OnSkin is a scan and before you go throwing good products in the trash please don’t. And please do not go buying the “premium” on OnSkin OnSkin is lying to people and recommending bad products.

Weekly subscription started after I cancelled subscription

2024-06-20

I used OnSkin for a VERY short period of time. I was researching some ingredients in products and came across OnSkin and decided to give it a try. I found OnSkin to be useful for people with sensitive skin, but unfortunately OnSkin wasn’t for me.

I started the free trial and made sure to cancel my subscription before I was charged from OnSkin. However, I came across my bank statement and realize that I was being charged weekly(!!!?) for an app that has already been deleted off of my phone. I’ve reached out directly to Apple, but they denied my request for a refund.

If you are looking for a free app to look for safe ingredients and products…. look elsewhere.

Scammy …

2024-02-07

When you download OnSkin it’s all free. Once you start OnSkin you have to purchase a plan in order to use OnSkin . That means you can’t find out if you like OnSkin unless you buy a subscription. They offer a free week. I used that option to then realize it didn’t provide me a FREE WEEK at all. They bagged the whole year despite me cancelling the subscription within 5 min.

Not very accurate

2024-01-27

When scanning the barcode, you have to compare all the ingredients to the actual label on the product. Most of the time they do not match. You have to manually search the product until you finally find the right one. Unfortunately, I did not realize until after I had already thrown away some products, because OnSkin gave them a “bad” rating for having hazardous ingredients. I cancelled the subscription and removed OnSkin from my phone.

Olaplex high score?

2024-02-26

I was loving OnSkin until I recently was informed by a friend who uses it that Olaplex received a high score? Sure enough I searched for Olaplex and three items received an Excellent score. This is a highly controversial product with many lawsuits and groups against it with severe hair damage from it. I am one who’s hair has also been damaged. How can a product like this receive such a high rating when most every product I plug in is hard for me to receive anything above a 49%? This makes me question the integrity of OnSkin and its sourcing. Appears that most things are pay to play and that OnSkin is no exception.

Bad app

2024-06-27

I may be young but I do pay attention to what is on my face. I used the scanner and it told me that my ordinary, drunk elephant, and Bubble are all bad for your skin. But tell me why when I use a different app. Not saying the name because I don’t want to get copyrighted. Any way, it said (about all) that they are horrible for my skin! I am very mad and I don’t think you need OnSkin. It also said I should by a alternative so I decided to check it out on some makeup store app brands, and it gave two star reviews. I have know Idea what is wrong but please tell me that my products are good for skin because I don’t want to waste my money on things I don’t need.

Not good

2024-03-24

It started off good but I tried it a few times on my normal skincare. I use every morning and it was good for my skin but I tried my last one and it said you’ve reached your limit. There shouldn’t be a limit you should just be able to get the premium to do other stuff, but people still be able to use the scanner because I wouldn’t wanna buy premium to just scan skin care, i’m not trying to stop you guys from liking it but I think it shouldn’t have a limit, but that’s my opinion

am I love the game but how do u know it true

2024-06-17

I love this game don’t get me wrong but is it true it says drunk elephant is bad for your skin what a lot of people say is amazing and very good for your skin but over all this game is great but I just wish it had more information about why it’s bad for your skin but over all great game hope you have a great night our day

Love this, but…

2024-08-06

I love OnSkin. It shows you what products you shouldn’t be using and what products you should be using, but what I’m really disappointed is they charge you after you do a few samples of scanning then they ask you for money so I just deleted it. I am really upset because I love OnSkin. Also, what is annoying is when they give you a test to see what skin type you are I have to say something I don’t have because it doesn’t give you an option I do not have that skin. It doesn’t give you an option for that so that is really annoying too because they give you tips what you should use, but I don’t know if I should use them because it’s not really my skin type. Thank you for reading this. Hope you enjoyed. OnSkin for the samples lol

Doesn’t show correct product

2024-11-28

Since my skin has been much better, I thought I was using good products until I use OnSkin. I learned not everything I was using, good. Now I scan products to use for my baby & for me which made easier to buy stuff.

However, there was lots of product when I scan it, it don’t show the correct one even if I look up, it doesn’t show the one I’m looking for but something similar so it makes me have lil doubt on OnSkin , If it’s accurate? or not.

One thing I like about OnSkin is that it recommends something better we could use.

Also it would be nice if we could make the picture bigger to see the product better.

Easy to use

2024-12-29

Downloaded this for fun after testing out another app and having to pay to search.
This was easy to use, I am laughing though. I’m an esthetician & searched for medical grade skin care products. It said they were all bad. I look through the recommendations & a few other drugstore brands. What did I find? They all had good ratings. LOL 😂😂 good thing it won’t influence me but could easily get others.

OnSkin app

2024-09-25

I don’t like how it makes you pay for something and they’re just trying trying to get money from you. That’s what I don’t like like let us just use an app you don’t like we don’t pay money for it. That’s what I hate about it and I like how it tells me what’s in it and then I like how it tells me the ratings and I just, that makes you pay for everything everything and then like when you use like five products it makes you just pay automatically to use it for like scanning stuff like come on this app. You can do better than that. I just don’t like how it makes you pay stuff like that, but I like it shows you like the stuff that is in it like the ratings and like why it’s good for you like who is it for older people young people, metal people but yeah I don’t like how it pays I don’t like how it makes you pay money for it, butyeah😬 I don’t think it’s last very long

Doesn’t seem to actually analyze some products

2024-10-14

Scanned a few items in the store and only one came up with a rating and the other two have been analyzing for 24 hours now.

Best app I ever downloaded, BUT..

2024-07-18

I love OnSkin. I downloaded it randomly for… SOME reason idk- but it actually helped me out a lot.

I’ve tested this on my very tiny skincare collection (if you can even call it that?) which consists of a moisturizer and a really good face wash, and it told me multiple good things and 1-2 bad things. I ended up doing some research on these ingredients, and most of it happened to be true. But then I deleted it because I didn’t need it anymore…

Until I met a really good hair care friend who used a similar looking app. Then I thought to write this review. (Ah yes, my ADHD brain…) And I read a review or two, but there were multiple I didn’t read except the first couple sentences. 2/3 of them said that it gave them different answers each time they scanned and told them their products (which they described as amazing) were making their skin dry. So now I am questioning… Anyways, this really helped me, but I have a feeling that since everyone’s skin type is different, everyone’s skin reacted different to it, making OnSkin ‘untrustworthy’. So, in conclusion, OnSkin is fine, but because it doesn’t review your skin in person (or even a simple questionnaire), it’s not as accurate as a real dermatologist.

This app is great!!!

2024-07-12

For starters, my friend recommended this for me and I’m glad she did. It can really help you know what’s good for your face, and hair. Turns out I was NOT using good shampoo for my type of hair. So I’m going to get new shampoo haha. One thing I noticed was that a lot of products aren’t on OnSkin, they need to add more bath and body work options because they only have 2 hand lotions of there. Which isn’t good because different lotions have different ingredients. That’s all I have to say! So thank you for OnSkin ❤️

Great app!

2024-06-07

I really appreciate that OnSkin can tell me if what I’m using or thinking about buying will be bad for me and whether it will probably work with my skin/hair type. The info readily available is incredible and the ability to add to their database is great! I love that if there’s something they don’t yet have, I will be notified in a couple of hours what the algorithms think about it. The nominal fee to have ready access to this information is well worth it! I do wish there was a more limited option for free besides a “3 day trial” because I think it would have a greater impact with access to people who cant afford much and probably more likely to buy the cheaper junk out there, but overall no real complaints. Recommended!!

Pretty good!

2024-04-29

So OnSkin is VERY useful for me to know what products are good and bad,I also like how they put the ingredients list when you scan. And I also like how they can see if the product is a match for you! But some things I don’t like is that you need to buy to get more scans for products, but other than that flaw, I think you should definitely get OnSkin if you are into skincare and haircare!

This app is great, but…

2025-08-05

Do you have to pay for it? This would be so amazing and it’s some of the sensitive skin. I love OnSkin it is easy to use although I only wish they gave you customized recommendations to help you find what skin care and hair care works for you. You also have to pay for it and it’s like 46 bucks a year so I don’t know

Goodish PLEASE READ ALL

2025-05-28

Okay so it is a good app and all but what I didn’t know when I was going to it I would have of certain amount of scans then you have to buy premium to keep scanning. I deleted it because it is kinds a waste of money but it is a good app if you want to spend the money. Lastly there are other apps that a kinda like it but. Overall it does what it says it will do and is a good app.

Great free app but not perfect

2025-05-28

When I scan products, it tells me what ingredients are not safe , but when I look at the product, that ingredient isn’t even listed on the product?

I hope it continues to grow

2025-06-09

Amazing for what they have, but there’s a lot of makeup brands that aren’t featured on here. But other than that it’s a really good app that is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate

The best for me 💖

2024-08-30

this is, by far, the best skincare app I’ve used in like, forever. i’ve been using it for only about 6 months, but gosh, going to sephora is sooo much easier and way less overwhelming now 😌 most often, I just use the manual search to find products and check if they fit me (I have oily skin and used to have severe acne, now mostly post-acne), and I’ve already managed to find a moisturizer without ingredients that clog pores. getting fewer breakouts is a blessing!! 🙏 i don’t use the shampoo feature a lot though, but I thanks to OnSkin I’ve found out that my current shampoo is actually okay for my curly hair. I also like that the design is light and easy on the eyes. great job guys! 🙌

I wish I had this app 25 years ago

2024-08-30

I’m 46 today and I really wish that I would’ve had an app that analyze the ingredients of products that touch our skin and hair, etc. if you’re someone who really truly cares about having great looking skin when you’re older, you need OnSkin because it will help you keep your skin looking beautiful and your hair looking beautiful because it will tell you whether or not you should be putting it on your skin or in your hair just super easily with a photograph or a barcode you scan it and it tells you whether or not it’s a product everyone should have OnSkin it is super super amazing

Helpful and reliable app

2024-06-11

OnSkin is incredibly helpful in my day to day life, especially when shopping. I use OnSkin every time before I buy a new product. The product scanning feature is extremely convenient and fast. I really love and appreciate how it has the list of ingredients and what there concern is. In conclusion I love love love OnSkin because it helps me to guarantee that what I am putting on my skin is safe and healthy.

On skin

2024-06-11

Truly help me in my journey to finding what products would be best for me I mean I don’t mind paying the small fee for OnSkin just like any other subscription and I just wanna say they should get more than a five star rating I feel like I’m always buying myself the wrong products that irritate my skin and so this is truly helpful I would recommend it to anybody else has our skin is very important. You have to treat it like the inside of your body.

Great!

2024-08-29

OnSkin is incredibly user-friendly and has a sleek and modern interface that makes it a pleasure to use. OnSkin is also very versatile and can be used for both personal and professional purposes. I love how I can access it from anywhere, which has made a huge difference in my productivity levels. Overall, OnSkin has exceeded all my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable and efficient mobile application.

Good but not good

2024-06-14

It is good and it helps me bout my mom she has a other app and it says different things so that makes me feel like it not right so I do know what app is right but overall it’s been so great to me and my friends it help me and them it is really helpful but it can be not that helpful when I try and scan a product and it says sorry don’t know what that is or sine up for something when I just need it to help me find the right product but everything else is great that is my review and I hope you have a great day

Onskin is a lifesaver!

2024-08-30

this app helped me make sense of all confusing skincare products on the market. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks and it’s made shopping for beauty products so much easier!! Now, it’s like I’m in a different world with all these amazing recommendations and options! It’s also good to know that those recommendations are unbiased and OnSkin doesn’t partner with any brands. The on-demand analysis of beauty products is incredibly helpful, it scans the ingredients in a product and gives me an overall rating on how safe it is. It’s really given me peace of mind when buying cosmetics and I would highly recommend OnSkin!

Easy to use & provides helpful information

2024-08-30

I’ve really been enjoying OnSkin. As a makeup enthusiast I’ve had several products I had no idea were bad for me. Even if a product is not in their list, you send them a picture of the item with ingredients and I’ve gotten results within a few days. There is so much bad stuff in things we think are safe, just because of where they are being sold, but I’ve come to find out the beauty industry is poorly regulated, so OnSkin helps me make more informed decisions on what and where I’m putting my hard earned money towards.

Great but not perfect.

2024-06-11

Every app is great but not perfect and this one is really good. The only reason I say it is not perfect is because it doesn’t have every product I’d like to see on it. And it’ll be “analyzing” for days and I’m still waiting on it. Otherwise it is amazing and has changed how I have seen products safety since I’ve been using it. It does great at showing me the products and there breaking down of the product’s ingredients. Overall it’s a phenomenal app that I use in my life.

This is an amazing app!

2024-08-30

I downloaded OnSkin not knowing how good it would be because I wanted to get on my skin care products that I had to see if they were good for my skin or not because I am a teenager and it’s really hard to figure out it’s good for my skin is especially because I don’t really know my skin type. You can even take a quiz to figure out if the products are good for you skin or not!I thought that you would have to pay for all the features but it turns out you don’t. I would definitely download OnSkin! 🩷🩷🩷

YUKA IS WAY BETTER!!!

2024-08-30

I gave it 5 stars so it would be seen first. If you’re looking for something simple and just need to know about the ingredients in your skincare products then download Yuka. You don’t have to pay anything to scan products unless you want to look up stuff without scanning anything and use OnSkin offline. But you even get to choose how much you want to pay! Kind of like donating, like it only goes from $10-$20 per year! It recommends other products and tells you what harmful ingredients are in your stuff and will give you more information about them and include links to scientific studies about them.

New level of self-care

2024-08-30

I’m thrilled to have discovered OnSkin. I checked every single product I was using and it turned out most of them were not good. How easily I was tricked by beautiful campaigns of popular brands 😭
From now on, I’m going to check everything before buying with OnSkin. Throwing away money on harming myself was so stupid. And I’m blown away with the fact that SO MANY products contain harmful ingredients.
I told my friends about OnSkin so they can watch out as well. They’re obsessed.
Unfortunately, not all products could be scanned but I really hope over time more and more of them will be possible to check.
Thanks for this great app! ❤️

I know nothing about skin care but this is so helpful!!

2024-06-11

I know absolutely nothing about skin care so OnSkin has been a lifesaver for me. Not only does it tell you whether it is recommended to buy but It tells you the reasons why you should or shouldnt so I’m starting to familiarize myself with products that I should and should not have, and then ingredients in them that I need to steer clear of.

super helpful :)

2024-06-11

It’s a nice explanation of products, and i love the skin analysis. even if a product is 49% or lower in safety, it offers a complete definition of each questionable product. Also it can still be a good match for your skin type regardless. I feel like a lot of the negative reviews don’t understand that part. For example- The cetaphil healthy radiance serum is a 49% safety but a good match for my skin. i use this product often and i love it, but reading the ingredient definitions just made me aware of any risks. I haven’t had issues with the serum- but that doesn’t mean it won’t harm someone else’s skin.
I imagine this helps with finding out what ingredients someone is more sensitive/ allergic to.
Also, there is a free version! i have used plenty of scans with no bumps in the road so far.

Awesome app but can’t win the game!! 😄

2024-08-30

Highly recommend OnSkin to anyone struggling with acne/sensitive skin. I’ve been battling acne for most of my life (well, half of it at least 😄), and somehow always overlooked that pore-clogging ingredients in cosmetics are a thing and that I should avoid them at all costs. Now, I check any cosmetics I’m thinking of buying with OnSkin , it shows how safe a product is (and why) 🧐. My skin has gotten way clearer, and I’ve noticed less greasy shine throughout the day (my friends noticed that too ✨😆). And I also never regretted buying the paid version to check as many products as I want. But somehow, I keep losing the Guess the Score game, haha, but I guess it’s on me!! 🤷‍♀️ Overall, it’s a great app that makes skincare much easier 👍

Daily scan..

2024-06-11

I was trying to take a picture of one of my products to see if it’s safe for my skin..but as soon as I get done taking the picture.. it says “your daily scan is up for today” so if I want to take another picture of my products I have to pay for a trial when that shouldn’t happen..I’m not trying to me rude or anything I’m just saying it doesn’t make me happy..!

Is “Onskin” good or bad? (my opinión)

2024-06-11

Well I really think Is really good and it helps me know if my skincare products are good for my skin and wich are bad, yes you have to pay to ask questions but Is only $0.77 and if you dont want to pay its ok and its not gonna affect anything with OnSkin and it help me know that not all famous products are good for your skin and it help me know that even products that are not famous are even more good than famous products.

The helpfulness of this app from a teen.

2024-08-30

OnSkin not only provides information about products and how they can affect your health, but they also provide information on whether they can be good for your skin or hair. I have had nothing but a good experience with OnSkin. However, like many other apps, you can pay to get an upgraded version to scan products or get help from an AI as well as other benefits so the extra purchase may not be such a bad idea (I do believe you get a free trial and you get a couple free scans in the beginning to give you a feel for OnSkin ). BUT OVERALL even without the purchase of add ons OnSkin does a great job of letting you search information on products and provides personalized tips on skin/hair care.

Get IT NOW YOU WI LL LOVE THIS

2024-09-25

If you get OnSkin you might be confused what is it for why do I need it Will you see if you get OnSkin then it is like very useful. You can see what is good for your skin and what is bad for your skin. It even recommend it or even recommend stuff for your skin. I would get it because it works perfectly for me, but the only thing that might be Bug for you is that you have to buy more thing buy more things to, but yeah, I honestly kind of write this good app a good app. definitely download if you’re one of the people that love to do skincare hair care and all of the extra stuff please read this and if you did, y ou’re very very lucky cause you deserve a cookie and here is one and I love you guys have a good day BTW, 15. 15 cookies.🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪🍪

⚠️⚠️⚠️READ THIS REVIEW⚠️⚠️⚠️

2024-09-25

At first OnSkin seemed legit, but then I looked up a certain product and it said it was bad and had a “Hazardous” ingredient but then I looked at the ingredients of the product and it wasn’t there. Also another product it said was bad and had a “Hazardous” ingredient, I checked and it did contain that ingredient, but then I looked it up and did some research and found that that ingredient wasn’t particularly harmful. Also it says it doesn’t promote any products which let’s just say that’s not true. So overall it seems like a ok app but I’m just not sure I can trust it without doing my own research. My true star rating would probably be 2-3 stars. I just put 5 so more people would see it.

I love this app

2024-05-16

When I first got OnSkin, I was like oh it’s probably just gonna tell me some lies but then after a while I was like my face is clearing up and I’m really happy. I found OnSkin OnSkin is amazing and you should definitely get it. it’ll tell you what products are really bad for your skin and what products are fit for you and you’ll have clear skin in no time ♥️

Grate app

2027-08-15

I spent years fighting breakouts and I’m happy to see my skin getting better (finally!!). With OnSkin it’s easy to check how safe the ingredients are, which I always do before buying a new product

Onskin app

2027-09-19

I love OnSkin! It’s such a nice app to see what’s good for your skin and what’s poor quality, you can get personalized recommendations for your skin and do a little survey on your skin type, skin color, skin quality. It’s such an nice cute little app!! I truly recommend!! 𑁍

Skin heath

2027-10-21

I love on skin because I can look up new products that I want and I can find all of the things that are in the product such as finding if it is a good product for my skin. as a person who has a lot of allergies to skincare products , OnSkin is an amazing app for me.

Love this app!

2027-11-21

Glad to have found this. I’ve been battling with my skin care products for a long time not knowing what was causing all my flare ups. Now I check all my products and their ingredients before purchasing them. Thanks for making this!

Incredible app!

2027-12-23

I was really excited when I found OnSkin during my pregnancy. I was really concerned about whether or not the ingredients in my skincare were safe for my growing baby and this app was sooo helpful in helping me figure that out! It was super easy to use and gave me so much helpful information. 10/10 would recommend.

Lifesaver for sensitive skin

2028-01-20

As someone "blessed" with sensitive, easily irritated skin, I find OnSkin very helpful, it scans the ingredients list in seconds and bring light any potential irritants or allergens. Now I can confidently ch products that won't cause redness

Great but maybe not true

2028-02-21

I love OnSkin but if you search up things like Cerave cleansing it has really poor ratings when everything else you see says it’s good

Best app for sensitive skin

2028-03-24

I’ve been loving OnSkin!! Easy to use and very informative. I always use OnSkin to check every product before using because i have really sensitive skin.

really great app

2028-04-23

I got OnSkin because recently i’ve been getting into skincare. This is a MUST HAVE app to have. I’ve found out that some of the stuff in my products have bad things in them. 11/10 app.

I love this it has helped my skin a lot

2028-04-25

I’ve seen this on TikTok so I have it a try but it has worked so well with my skin and helped me to know what was and wasn’t good for my skin

BYOMA

2028-03-13

I tested all of my BYOMA and they were all 90 out of 100%. I love OnSkin so much it help me see what I was putting on my skin and I hope to get more of it because it’s so amazing.

Great App

2028-04-24

So when I got to 40 I decided to start a skin care regimen, but had no idea what was good and what was bad, and my daughter is in school to become a aesthetician and leaned about skin and skin care and recommended I downloaded OnSkin as it will me learn more about the ingredients and how they work. And OnSkin is so helpful who ever made OnSkin 👌🙌 what a great and helpful tool for skin care!

cool app😎

2028-05-14

Helped me build a routine with local products after I moved to another continent. Enjoying OnSkin so far..

Love this app

2028-06-15

My skin is not itchy and sore since I stopped using a few products 👍 Also, my routine is much simpler now. And I’m spending less money on cosmetics haha 😁

Review about this app

2028-07-16

I really love OnSkin because it helps you know what’s good for your skin but I will still use all of my skin care thing

Very helpful

2028-08-17

Thanks to OnSkin, I replaced my eye cream with a more nourishing one that suits my aging skin much better. I continue to revise my beauty routine and hope to see even better results 💯💯💯

love

2028-09-27

While the database isn’t as large as something like yuka it’s definitely growing and the experience feels so much more clean and expensive

Accurate

2028-10-19

I’m amazed by the accuracy of OnSkin!💯 It even recognizes obscure ingredients and provides detailed explanations of their effects. It’s like having a personal skincare expert in my pocket. A must-have for beauty enthusiasts!

Eye opening

2028-12-25

I freaked out when i saw many of my “expensive” and “healthy” products being hazardous!

Please read this review before downloading

2024-04-12

I have had this product for so long now and it is so good and has such great reviews on everything but when I scan it it gives is a forty nine and says it’s poor. I have only had OnSkin for a few days now and everything I scan gives a forty nine and says it’s poor.

On Skin

2024-01-10

I love on skin because they help me see what’s good for my face and so I don’t have acne or pores and more.I love how you can scan your items because you see if it’s good for your face or other products that are also good or bad,and also cause it has ratings on it. Thank you on skin!!!!
