I uploaded 3 personal projects I created in blender, and apparently downloading my own product that I use often and send to my printer created an issue where they said I did this to accrue points in an unethical way. I didn’t even know I got points for using my own prints. And they also made an assumption that I did this with another product of mine I created which had numerous downloads in a short period of time and also got accused of making another account to make this happen. This was never an issue until I went to claim points for the gift card they offer. Here it is. Be warned. I do not like this business model and I think they could take more steps to prevent these things like not make points count for your own personal downloads. I’m am very irate as I just opened BambuHandy to go order the AMS system. Now I’m debating this as I have to write an appeal and hope they even accept it. What a joke. 1star.

BambuHandy is basically useless if you use your printer in LAN only mode. They are forcing you to route all your print data and camera feed through their servers and if you don’t they restrict connection from your printer to BambuHandy which means no remote monitoring from BambuHandy . LAN only mode also means you WON’T have access to any firmware updates on your printer eventually making your printer obsolete. They state this is their privacy policy and how they have complete access to all of your personal data including the camera feed so make sure you don’t leave the printer in your bedroom. I returned the printer after realizing this sever breach of privacy. Seems very shady.

Don’t get me wrong, I mean ignoring the fact that their support has an NPS score easily in the negative range, their products are stellar. However BambuHandy is not.
It feels like a badly ported iPhone app that’s been stretched and not upscale for iPad - especially if you have it in landscape mode with a keyboard as I do. So BambuHandy is sort of useless to me and with an iPad Pro 12.9” its like playing a DOS game on Windows 11.
Perhaps they’ll get around the spending all this money they are making with their printers an maybe put some money into BambuHandy. It could really use the update.

Like many other reviewers here, I’ve stopped receiving key notifications (print paused, print error, filament empty). Troubleshooting with Bambu is circular, constantly asking me the same useless checks (no, I’m not on Incognito mode, yes I am printing through cloud, yes I’m on the same WiFi network, yes I have the latest version of everything).
Please simply report this as a known bug and start investigating it instead of sending users in loops!
Clearly some update around April 2023 (either iOS or BH or firmware) has broken this, as it worked fine earlier this year.

I love my X1C - it is the Apple approach to FDM printer design, and worth every penny… BambuHandy to interface with it from my mobile devices? It’s pretty good on phone, but on iPad being locked to portrait mode is garbage so loses a star… Can’t directly send scenes to the printer from BambuHandy either, so another star there. Apple’s devices have more than enough power to handle scene layouts at this point, Pikaslice proves that entirely, so a 5-star app should have that capability.

2 small complaints: BambuHandy will not allow you to select a specific printer that you’re trying to print a certain product from. It used to, but now it’s gone. I’m at the mercy of BambuHandy . I also wish the P1P’s would have a still frame live view for when you’re out and about to be able to check status (maybe update every 10 seconds or so) It doesn’t have to be like my X1C, just something.
Great job Bambu Lab! Love your product and they continue to impress me every day, I’ll be buying more soon currently running 4 of your printers and I couldn’t be happier.

So BambuHandy is indeed handy, but somewhere between my purchase in May and July, BambuHandy stopped notifying me of errors (like spaghetti detection, front cover falling off, any AMS issue) while printing. It now only gives me a notification when a print is finished or if I have cancelled the print. This is a major pain and has already caused a lot of frustration and lost time. Somewhere in either an iPhone update or a Bambu Handy update, these crucial error notifications were lost. Bambu Lab, if your reading this please update BambuHandy so that we can see these crucial notifications again. I have seen people complaining about this issue on Facebook as well. Note, I have an iPhone 11 with the latest iOS and most recent Bambu Lab download.

Love my printer. But BambuHandy needs some work.
1. No landscape mode.
2. I love that you can print from your phone, but I wish you could customize your print more before printing.
3. The biggest issue with BambuHandy is that it eats battery AND makes my phone so ridiculously hot I can barely handle it. Like, I’m talking hot enough to where I’d not be surprised if my iPhone shut itself off to protect itself.

You can do a lot with BambuHandy, but the current inability to use it in landscape orientation while my iPad Pro is docked is infuriating. It seems like it should be a relatively simple feature to include, so I really hope it happens sooner rather than later. Other than that, I think BambuHandy offers a lot of convenient features that make the best 3D printer even better. Definitely grab BambuHandy if you own a Bambu printer, and keep asking them to add landscape orientation!

Overall does ok, but recently when trying to print specific parts on a plate, there is a full page pop up showing hand gestures, but there is no button to acknowledge or eliminate that pop up, & can’t get to the actual page in the background, can’t continue or reverse, so must close app & restart, giving no access to picking parts at all, I put in a ticket & was told BambuHandy is not optimized for tablets & won’t be fixed! If this is true, it should be clearly stated in this Apple App Store description as not being iPad optimized & intended for phones!

BambuHandy overall works good. However, notifications are spotty. It appears you have to open the print and view it to receive notifications on it. I don’t like this, it should show me notifications all the time. I would also like to be able to start a print remotely with a file on the SD card. SD card management would be helpful too.
So it’s off to a good start but missing many expected features after maturing for a year.
Thanks to the devs. Hopefully we see some new features soon.

I love the concept of BambuHandy. It really makes printing new things a breeze! I’m a bit irritated though because when I try to review a print profile with pictures, BambuHandy will get hung up trying to upload. It’ll sit and load for 10 minutes if I let it. I also have to force close BambuHandy if I have looked at the live view of my printer and want to look at it again. It seems like it won’t refresh any information if you pull down to refresh. These seem like minor bug fixes that would really make BambuHandy stand out.

Ive been using BambuHandy for 5 months and I gotta say something.
Pro: great to watch your print from anywhere
Great to control printer
Easy to request support
Bambu lab store is on it too.
Maybe: push notification from cloud upload? Idk.
Cons: Will not notify push notification you. At all. I have waisted sooo much time when it thinks it sees a spaghetti issue. Or my filament ran out. On and on. So to sum it. It will not send a push notification.
I dont know why it doesn’t have a push notification on what ever is going on. I primarily print from a micro sd card. Wifi/ cloud has been way too unstable for me.
If they can add this instant 5/5 stars. BambuHandy is kinda pointless without notifications.
by Scuk23
BambuHandy is great is so many ways. However, the lack of notifications is so significant, I had to deduct 2 stars. Losing hours due to a hang up that would take me moments to fix is very frustrating. This could be easily avoided if BambuHandy notified you rather than waiting for you to open BambuHandy and be surprised. Appreciate the hard work and amazing machines! Please fix the notifications, thanks!
by Puckshaw
I really only have one issue with BambuHandy but it’s significant for me: the camera barely ever successfully connects. It’s the main reason I pull up BambuHandy when on the go. I want to see that my print hasn’t failed in some way. I have no issues connecting to the camera instantly from Bambu Studio on desktop. Not sure why BambuHandy has so many issues.

A lot of good features in BambuHandy and in general it works as expected. Coming from Octopod/OctoAnywhere, BambuHandy is missing some features. Being able to see the % my print is done in the Notification Center/dynamic island was awesome and I’m sad it’s not a feature in BambuHandy. Having to click play every single time I open BambuHandy then wait 5+ seconds for it to load also isn’t great. Being able to easily generate a remote viewing link on demand is also missing. Devs if you want five stars go check out the octopod/octoanywhere combo to see what I’m talking about. Edit: being able to create a read only account to use with the handy app would be awesome for sharing with friends/fellow makers

I love this for the iPhone. I’ve printed several models directly from BambuHandy and am amazed at how simple it is.
There are however 2 issues… on an iPad BambuHandy won’t go landscape and looks like an enlarged version of the iPhone app. Basically it needs a properly designed iPad version.
The second issue is that you can’t watch the camera if its already being watched/monitored elsewhere. I’ve started several prints from the desktop app and want to see what is going on remotely but it always complains that its already in use.

Love being able to print from my phone. I have several other brands of printers and that is definitely the deal breaker for me with a printer. I work a lot and need to be able to start prints when I am not home and check on them. BambuHandy worked great for the most part before the last update. Now mid print when I am trying to check on the print when I open BambuHandy it often says there is nothing printing or will be stuck at the same spot I last looked at it or it says offline. I refresh it 2-3 times just to get it to connect. This was not an issue before I updated BambuHandy . I am also not having issues with my internet as everything else works fine and I can get it to work after several refreshes.

It is nearly impossible to get back to the Device portion of BambuHandy should you enter the Bambu Wiki/Store from BambuHandy itself. The back button of the browser function in BambuHandy is useless since you have to touch it in numerable times. Please keep the Device/Me footer available at all times in order to make switching back-and-forth seamless.

It’s a pretty good app, easy to connect and has never had connection issues. BambuHandy it self is pretty straightforward and easy to use with access to a selection of prints from very talented people. The only thing I wish it had was a more complex pre print set up, as of the current state all you can do is very limited compared to the desktop slicer. I would like to see features like being able to make gcode pauses, change the filament settings from BambuHandy instead of the desktop slicer, customize the supports and support painting, and being able to upload a stl file from your phone into the handy app to print instead of using the slicer. Although these might be very difficult to implement, it’s not a necessity and BambuHandy is still great.

Love BambuHandy and the notifications it gives when something is happening it even shows on my watch.
Because I have the P1P and are STUCK with the most horrible 1990s screen I rely heavily on BambuHandy. “Please make BambuHandy tablet ready” since we can’t use the high resolution screen.
By the way, why would you guys cut yourselves out of that revenue is beyond me.
by F_K3NT_D
The latest update fixes the issue where one would have to close BambuHandy when trying to switch camera views on different printers. Before if you were viewing the camera feed on one printer and wanted to view the camera feed on another printer the feed would not show/refresh unless you force closed BambuHandy . This has been fixed and an easier way to access Timelapse has been added. Great update so far.

BambuHandy sadly gets a lot of low reviews because people seem to think their mobile device is a computer, it’s not…
I absolutely love that I can find cool things and start prints from literally anywhere with a connection. But my favorite update came not long ago.
No matter how good your computer is, to my dismay, there doesn’t seem to be any way to enlarge the camera window. Now on iPhone and iPad, you can go full screen, and even zoom in to make sure those first layer details are laying down properly.
While I have not been in the forums much, I can tell from firmware updates that Bambu listens to their users. Keep up the great work Bambu Labs Team!!! 💜💜

I'm thrilled with the Bambu Handy app for iPhone! As an owner of the Bambu X1 Carbon, BambuHandy has become an indispensable tool for me. Not only does it allow me to seamlessly view the prints from my Bambu X1 Carbon, but BambuHandy 's latest update has truly taken it to the next level. Previously, I had issues viewing the printer's built-in camera through BambuHandy , but the developers have gone above and beyond to address this problem. Thanks to the update, the camera viewing feature now works flawlessly! I can't express how grateful I am for this improvement—it's made my experience with the Bambu X1 Carbon even more enjoyable. The user interface is intuitive, and BambuHandy runs smoothly without any hiccups. The Bambu Handy team has done an outstanding job in creating an app that perfectly complements the Bambu X1 Carbon printer. Thank you so much to the Bambu Handy team for your dedication to excellence and for continuously working to enhance BambuHandy 's features. I highly recommend BambuHandy to all Bambu X1 Carbon owners. You won't be disappointed!

Edit: updating to 5 stars. They have resolved the connection issue, what a great app!
I love all the stuff packed in. It’s such a cool AIO app with camera functions and everything. The only downside is that when you leave BambuHandy for a bit and come back, printer connectivity is lost and you have to restart BambuHandy for it to come back.

These reviews often overlook how Bambulab stands out from the competition in both printers and apps. One of the standout features for me is the ability to monitor my prints through BambuHandy ’s live stream without incurring any additional monthly fees. This level of convenience and transparency is a huge plus. Additionally, I appreciate the option to browse and access various models for printing at no extra cost, which is a fantastic bonus. Having used several 3D printers over the years, I can confidently say that Bambulab operates on a different level. The combination of advanced technology, user-friendly app features, and overall functionality makes it a superior choice in the 3D printing space.

While I would love to have even more features in Bambu Handy and even selfishly desiring features that should probably do not belong in a mobile app, I have to say the existing features, control and oversight BambuHandy gives me for the printing process on my FDM printers is truly awesome. It’s definitely one app I know I can depend on.
Thank you BBL!!

BambuHandy is really cool first time owning a bamboo lab and it’s so awesome to be able to just see and control things on your phone. I have the P1S so cam is not great but it’s works and being able to send print jobs from your phone is nice. It’s not as detailed as desktop, but I feel like that’s to be expected. Awesome app and interface. Great integration.
