NEEWER Teleprompter Reviews

Absolutely don’t expect NEEWERTeleprompter to work. It is literally trash. I am very pleased with the Teleprompter from Neewer but NEEWERTeleprompter is horrible. It constantly changes the screen when you move between vertical and horizontal and half the side of the script is off the page and can’t be seen or adjusted. I have tried for days to fix this and it doesn’t work, very sad that this is such a piece of junk. A friend of mine who is a major YouTuber told me of this when I bought the Teleprompter. He uses a free app with a cheap controller and that works much better. I am currently using another Teleprompter app, and will find one that works with a controller.

NEEWERTeleprompter is absolutely awful. I registered and when I try to log back in it gives me a message that my account is not recognized. Any attempt to reset or create a new account failed. I regret buying the teleprompter because of NEEWERTeleprompter.

Oh man this would be great if it would work. I was only able to get 3 docs to work.

Basically it’s not usable anymore, it crashes every time I try to use it, re installing doesn’t help

I’ve tried everything, and still when I try to display a document, the paragraphs and sentences are all out of order!

Wrote one presentation and it worked. Wrote the rest of the series, (5 total) and now when I go to open one of them, the whole app crashes over and over.

Main screen only shows content horizontal. Scripts whether written in app or pasted from somewhere else ALWAYS have your words cut off and there is no way to resize the screen to show text or a setting to fix

I don’t know what the deal is with NEEWERTeleprompter because the remote control that was sold with her is fantastic. However, the Teleprompter app from NEEWER is seriously lacking. I have problems importing scripts DAILY through the web interface, and once the script is imported, almost once or twice a week I have issues with my script just disappearing halfway through which I only find out halfway through very frustrating. NEEWERTeleprompter needs so much work before I could ever recommend it to a true professional. It’s ruining my workflow and I will be finding something different.

NEEWERTeleprompter is simple, which I like. It’s also cloud based. It CRASHES…..CONSTANTLY. Nothing worse that prepping a couple of scripts and then trying to launch NEEWERTeleprompter on iPad to have it just crash over and over again. Will have to look elsewhere.

App will not pair with its remote. I do not consider myself a novice when it comes to tech. I’ve tried all of the suggestions in the instructions. In fact they seem to know about this problem because in the instructions they go out of your way to give you several ways to try to pair the remote

I keep uploading docs and only the first 3 lines show in NEEWERTeleprompter . The rest just disappear. It’s been like this for days now, however worked for the normally for the first week of filming. I’ve tried resetting, logging in/out, and 10 other fixes but it won’t work. Very annoying when you have a filming deadline. Find another option if you want to get your work done!

This software won’t even pair with its OWN remote. Useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NEEWERTeleprompter would be much more useful with the features below so please add

- portrait orientation (instead of landscape only)
- ability to adjust margins so your eyes aren’t moving too much side to side

All other teleprompter apps I’ve tried have these functions.

I I recently purchased the X1 Pro Teleprompter from Nemoir so that our scripted videos would have better iContact and look more professional. So far, that product has proven to be very well-made and perfect for what we need. Unfortunately, the accompanying app is lacking the same care and professionalism. NEEWERTeleprompter feels like something they had to get out so they just made a basic teleprompter app to satisfy someone and say they did it. It has some major flaws I can see. The biggest one, is that you can’t adjust the margins and make the columns narrower. In our column of script, keeps your eyes focused to the middle of the screen better and makes you look much more natural. NEEWERTeleprompter by ILOKNZI allows you to do that very nicely. They also let you customize the colors behind the type. PromptSmart ALSO HAS A WELL-thought out teleprompter app that listens to you speaking and automatically scrolls to keep up. That solves the issue of controlling speed through starts and stops with the remote.
Because the Neewer App only allows full width, and a landscape mounting bracket, your eyes travel left and right across the screen following the script rather than keeping you centered. You also have few choices for background color and most are worthless anyway.
I’ve tried several Apps and I recommend getting a Neewer Teleprompter for quality and using the ILOKNZI App with an auxiliary remote for $20. I don’t really like the ILOKNZI remote, it feels cheap and unresponsive, but NEEWERTeleprompter is soooo much better than Neewer’s that I’ll take the cheap remote over the thoughtless App.
Come on, Neewer, let’s output an update and complete the package. You fumbled on the 1 yard line! NOT RECOMMENDED!

I’ve been using NEEWERTeleprompter for about 6 months since I purchased a Neewer teleprompter. It scrolls but anything past that, there are issues.

- Don’t cmd-z when editing text - it will crash
- When trying to edit text, it keeps on overwriting your edits
- The “All documents view” is sorted out of order. Instead of showing the newest first, it displays 2024 documents in order from newest to oldest, then halfway down the list it sorts 2025 from newest to oldest.
- When searching for a document, your limited what you can do with search results. You can’t add to the cloud script folder. Why?
- Be sure to add extra blank lines at the end of your script. When the scroller hits the end, it goes back to the beginning instead of stopping. Very frustrating when this happens and you’re finishing the last couple lines and.Again, why?
- No response from support. I’ve sent messages indicating I would send a video about these issues but never got a response.

The apps seems fine other than the BT remote doesn’t actually do anything. It pairs with the iPad but it doesn’t control NEEWERTeleprompter at all.

I don't have many complaints with NEEWERTeleprompter and I like the cloud feature. What would make it more valuable to me is being able to access the cloud on the web to type/load/edit scripts. It's nearly impossible to edit in app so I do it on my computer in notes and then from my phone load to neewer cloud. Then save to my cheap tablet I use in the teleprompter. I'd like to be able to type it all up and edit/load in neewer cloud online vs in app.

Is it possible to add a feature that would allow to change the width of the area where the text is showing up?
I film my videos using my phone, and I use iPad as a teleprompter. Because the iPad’s screen is too big, my eye movements are becoming very noticeable.

I have an older mini iPad 4, wasn’t sure if it would work. I did a quick update on the iPad then loaded the Neewer Teleprompter app. It worked without a problem. Simple and easy to use. I am very pleased.

Wish you can add different fonts and change color of the line and able to change color of the words but works ok please add my request it can be a really good app
