I have been looking for an affordable, easy-to-use, and reliable video Teleprompter that I could use with my iPhone for making videos for social media. My search came to an end when I came across the Video Teleprompter by Joe Allen. I was not disappointed at all. This is ideal for anyone who would like to read a script when making a video with an iPhone or iPad. It’s very easy to use and allows the user to create a script in the application itself or import a word document. I’ve been using it for a few days to learn the system, and I’ve been very happy with its simplicity and functionality. Most importantly, the customer support is outstanding. Whenever I made an inquiry through its help system, I’ve received a response in less than 24 hours with answers right to the point, a rarity these days.

I highly recommend VideoTeleprompter for anyone who is looking for an affordable Teleprompter.

Whether you have 1 audition request or 7 in a week’s time, your life will be made easier with this product, used skillfully. I’m stressed when I have 24 hours notice before a tv or film audition is due - maybe my day or evening is already earmarked to babysit or spend time with hubby or friends or a meeting or doctor’s appointment...or another audition. The relatively inexpensive price of this product is well worth it. Plus VideoTeleprompter is the best supported app that I use. VideoTeleprompter developer really did respond to my inquiries within 24 hours each time. And his response specifically addressed my comments, unlike some other app developers who either didn’t carefully read my email or simply tapped an auto-response button. Great cadre of products and great support by this developer. I highly recommend Video Teleprompter.

When I got the chance to pre-order VideoTeleprompter, I immediately did. This is a solid tool for creating professional casts and I use it regularly. I’m a repeat customer and was impressed by the features of this newer release.
If you go through VideoTeleprompter Store, you’ll see plenty of negative reviews on high star ratings and I feel like after the developer makes that cash either they stop updating, rarely responding or remove it altogether.
I’m telling you that Joe Allen has been around for years now, always improving and taking customer concerns into account. If you have a real concern, the developer will respond.
It’s easy to see he takes pride in his work and that’s why I recommend people support his current and future endeavors.

I use VideoTeleprompter all the time. I do movie reviews and write my scripts first about my thoughts as I enter the theater… and then use VideoTeleprompter to make it look as though I can remember all of my thoughts. I have to speak of many details including the director’s name, actors, and other information about the film I think is relevant. Best tool ever! During this Covid-19 pandemic, I was faced with delivering our high school PTA scholarship winners via video. VideoTeleprompter allowed me and my friend to record and submit a fantastic presentation worthy of publishing by the high school administration on multiple social media sites. The Teleprompter 3 app was easy to figure out, uploading the text was a snap, and editing the text on the fly was like having you anticipate my need (aka change of verbiage once recording). I cannot wsigbyo experimentvwith this for other upcoming opportunities. Thank you!

Only think I’d change/add is an option for laptop use. I’m 50 and having a larger screen from which to work WOTHOUT wearing glasses would be great!

I used a USB cord to connect my iPad to a large TV monitor so that the performers (mostly the emcee) on stage could read the script posted on the teleprompter from my iPad. The main camera was adjacent to the monitor. Worked great! This would have worked from my iPhone, too, but I’m more comfortable with the iPad for such things.

At another time when I was recording single actors, I placed the iPad on a platform mounted to a tripod slightly in front of and barely below my camera. The actors could easily read the teleprompter and because the iPad was in front of the camera, it appeared that the actor was looking directly into the camera lens.

I’m not a video professional, I’m just a volunteer at a Catholic Parish. Our pastor wanted to do a video Christmas message, but he kept looking down at his notes or staring to the right or left.

Once I had his notes in VideoTeleprompter , the problem was solved. He looked straight into the camera, and nobody could tell he was reading. Looked like he was talking off the top of his head.

BTW, I had a few questions during setup, and the response to help inquiries was really good — once I got a reply to a note I sent after midnight before breakfast the next day. And I have the sense that the developer is VERY engaged in making the product work for the end user.

Not free, but worth every nickel. If you have an iPad and a decent tripod (an absolute necessity) you can be a volunteer organization’s “video pro” in a snap. They don’t have to know how easy it is.

Like few things today- it just works as you “hope” it would. Which when it does - exceeds our expectations. No complexity - just great functionality. I’ve used it since VideoTeleprompter was created and the support and functions keep getting better!
Get the pro version- the basic is super functional- (rare for an app to have a basic - strong app as well!) the Pro gives a few more options well worth the upgrade.

This teleprompter app is awesome! It’s super easy to use and it has great features. It has saved my life so many times when I get last-minute audition requests or I have 3 or 4 auditions to submit the same day and I don’t have time to memorize a script. I have booked many of the roles I’ve auditioned for using VideoTeleprompter, the recordings are high quality and no one could ever tell I’m using a teleprompter. It’s the best app ever for any actor, host or on-camera person of any kind. Love it!

A friend asked me to create a 3-4 minute video greeting for a very special occasion. I knew what I wanted to say and would have only needed a few bullet points several years ago. However, at 75 years of age now, I didn’t trust myself to ad-lib my sentiments. I typed and printed a script, but couldn’t find a way to display and read each page. I was thrilled to find VideoTeleprompter. I easily imported my script and was practicing within a few minutes. It’s amazing!

I downloaded the free version to see how it worked. Within one hour, I had upgraded to pro because it’s such a GREAT app! And it’s super affordable. I’ve been using VideoTeleprompter every day for my blogs, online courses, IG posts and stories. It’s truly a worthwhile investment. Oh and btw, I reached out to Joe Allen, the creator, yesterday, on a Sunday, because I had a question about saving my video and he responded in less than 30 minutes. Excellent app, price & customer service! Thanks Joe.

For those of you that downloaded Teleprompter Lite and then bought Teleprompter Premium for the auto captions.... it’s going to tell you to download Videoprompter Light instead. Then it will tell you to buy Videoprompter Premium for captions. THEN it will tell you that auto-captions are an in-app purchase for $99. All the apps work completely fine for a teleprompter. The extra features you pay for just aren’t matching up with what you’re told you’re getting for your payment. I’m not paying $99 when I have no reason to believe this 5th step will be any more successful than the last 4.

I make videos for a living. This is VideoTeleprompter you want. Period. Record from your phone while reading your script, applies captioning of every word you say if you want, which completely eliminates the need for using another app to add text to the video. And, it’s easy to learn how to use. If you’re a bit of a gear head, connect a lav mic to your phone (as I do), and you get a video that looks and sounds like it came out of a studio.

Pro: teleprompter and cloud features work great. Also Bluetooth remote to speed up slow down the text is very useful.

Con: if you are buying this for the greenscreen features (I did) beware! It isn’t working properly. It weirdly crops and zooms the background photo regardless of resolution. and it renders that feature useless. Tried contacting the seller many times to see if this is a known bug but no response.

Bottom line: plenty of teleprompter apps are out there including those that track along your voice. If you are selecting this for the added value of greenscreen, look elsewhere.

I have used many different app-based prompter systems, many of them just not covering all the bases. But Joe has really thought of all the bells and whistles you need from easy importing of scripts to a choice in backgrounds to ease of operation. It is so important to have a good eyeline to your camera so that it is not apparent you are reading copy and Joe has worked that out as well.

Easily read your remarks and maintain eye contact with your audience. I found this so easy to use that I was up and running in minutes. Also, I reduced my video takes by a dramatic amount. What used to take me an hour takes less than 10 minutes. I’ve found 2-3 takes does it and I used to do 20. A nice app. Try the free version but well world the the buy in my opinion.

Wonderful, intuitive product. So cool that I upgraded to the Pro version within the first hour of using it. The developer, Joe Allen, was immediately responsive to a couple of questions I had, and I was able to record a credible clip within minutes. I particularly like the in-program script editing capabilities, and the way VideoTeleprompter helps you make eye contact with your audience. Bravo!

I’m a long time user of this developer’s teleprompter products (iOS and Mac OS) but was struggling with my current, very stripped down, setup due a sudden lack of iPad and mirrored teleprompter setup I would typically work with. Don’t ask.

Anyway, this blending of the ability to shoot and monitor video with the teleprompter scrolling transparently on top—all on one app—just allowed me to retain the remainder of the hair I was about to pull out. Great save, Joe!

I like the way Teleprompter has perfect alignment with the center of the screen.
That gives assurance that when you read & record your script, you look dead center into the app’s camera as the script scrolls - and, your audience will love that you are looking directly at them. Perfect for YouTubers who need one-on-one rapport with the viewer. It’s not just a sense of an intimate connection, you really are making genuine eye contact!
